Boo for a girl?

We have just started thinking about names and I really like Boo for a girl? We have quite a long surname so would like something nice and short. I know it sounds quite cutesy but think the lack of a middle name would help.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I think best as a nn, could you imagine that person introducing themselves to a potential date in a pub or something or at an interview Hi my names Boo!

Lovely nickname or at a push a middlename. We call DD Boo almost all the time & I've heard other people do the same.

My great grandmother was known as Boo short for Molly, & DP's grandmother is Boo short for Sybil...

Another one whose DD 13 is nicknamed Boo (as well as many other nicknames)
This came from Beccaboo nn for Rebecca

How about Daisy Boo - like Jamie Olivers DD

Oh, don;t be so stupid. You're naming an adult woman, remember.

Boo as a nickname is cutesy, but please not as a real name. I read of a book character called Elizabeth but nicknamed Boo, so I guess you can choose anything.

But just imagine her as ... Dr Boo?! Mrs Boo?! Judge Boo?!

I really don't think it would work as a sensible adult name...

If you call your baby Boo you would not be conforming to the current social norms (shock horror).
Boo is the Mongolian word for a male Shaman who is an intellectual and spiritual leader in their society. Democratically chosen by peers.
A wonderful name for a boy and why not for a girl?

DerelictMyBalls · 26/04/2016 20:00

Presumably the baby in question has a name by now.

jollygoose · 27/04/2016 00:25

you have to be joking

NickMyLipple · 27/04/2016 00:45

What about Bea? Beatrice as a full name?
