She murdered her children's grandparents and would have happily murdered their father. To me that falls under the definition of domestic violence.

Quite likely, and not denying there was domestic violence. I said shes not been convicted.

Well she Is convicted of murdering the grandparents at a dinner she invited her ex to.

It was also reported somewhere when this first started that Simon had ongoing mobility issues after his stint in a coma in intensive care after eating food prepared by her.

EleanorReally · 08/07/2025 17:57

he has had a stressful time, it was probably better the dc were in a more stable home during this period

good grief! There is cctv of her visiting the tip immediately after the meal that for whatever reason couldn’t be used by the prosecution in the trial!
Nothing to prove it was the plates but certainly as suspicious as hell.

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 08/07/2025 21:09

Why was that evidence inadmissible?

Wrenjeni · 08/07/2025 21:21

No idea! At the very least it shows she lied about what she did after the meal.

zenae · 08/07/2025 21:28

I wonder if she has any siblings or other living relatives. If she has, I wonder how she turned out to be the psycho in the family. Can be childhood trauma so they say, and now her own kids' childhood and young adulthood is full of trauma due to her murderous crimes.

There's a book and a film there somewhere anyway.

This! Surely that's really relevant evidence and should have come up in court Confused

Blueyshift · 08/07/2025 21:40

Seems a lot of things were inadmissible. I just don't understand it. Then JCB wanted to separate the cases for Simon.
Odd.

Odd.

I can understand the case for Simon being separate - there doesn’t seem to be any evidence bar his spreadsheet and hospital attendance (unless the notes have details of toxic causes). To include this could have muddied the waters or detracted from the murder charges (as no real evidence). The tip trip where she dumped the dehydrator was included, so I’ve no idea why this one wasn’t admissible.

Edited

I agree but then to be dropped completely. So he would never have justice for it. I suppose he has now. I just found it odd reading the article.

velvetandsatin · 08/07/2025 22:23

Blimey! It is all coming out of the woodwork now.

It really pisses me off people are still trying to blame Simon for the actual murders (on a thread on chat currently) or in general (like here) cast aspersions on his character.

EstherGreenwood63 · 08/07/2025 22:40

Same thickos that think Letby is innocent. Makes them feel speshul to be contrarian.

Thatsnotmynamee · 08/07/2025 23:15

Oo, awkward, I'm one of those thickos

GirlOverboard123 · 08/07/2025 23:22

I would have thought in a murder trial it would be pretty important to provide a timeline of what the defendant was doing on that day? Particularly as that period of time after the lunch was so important to her defence (she was supposed to be binge eating three quarters of a cake and vomiting at around that time). It seems weird to make it inadmissible, but there obviously must be a reason.

It feels like a good thing that so much important evidence got thrown out though, regarding a possible appeal. It shows what an excellent job her defence have done, so it sounds very unlikely she could argue ineffective assistance of counsel. Not that I thought it would go to appeal anyway, but the not guilty crowd still think there was reasonable doubt and the evidence was 'only circumstantial' and the case will be going straight to appeal 🙄

InWalksBarberalla · 08/07/2025 23:39

I'm struggling to understand all the inadmissible evidence too - the defence made such a big deal about Ian being mistaken about the plates because they weren't never found yet they knew all along she had been to to tip after the lunch and could well have dumped the plates - sure it's not evidence she did dump the plates but it also takes away the relevance of the plates not being found in the house.
I'm so glad the jury found her guilty!

Suggest you get a hobby. You seem really over invested.

Yet here you are. Why so rude and dismissive?

This thread is about the case, so why not discuss any aspect of it?

Yes i am here. I can partake just like anyone else.

Dustyblue · 09/07/2025 01:11

I've been "invested" in this case since day 1 and I have plenty of hobbies.

Play nice.

Oh bugger! Well I missed it too as I was out ferrying teenagers around. I might watch it tomorrow.

There's already a load of stuff on youtube from the commercial networks, I watched some last night & got bored. After these threads with all the artciles we've devoured I think we know more than they do!

I suspected that might’ve been the case. I won't bother watching it then. Thanks!
