This has been all over the news. I live one town over from Leongatha and believe me, it's the talk of the towns.

We have loads of mushrooms around our place but wouldn't dream of eating them. About 90% of foraged mushrooms in Australia are poisonous.

Then again, you do get groups of people who think they know what they're doing, and perhaps they do.

Meanwhile this is suss-as.

Three people died from suspected mushroom poisoning after sharing a meal. Here's what we know - ABC News

Three dead and another fighting for life: What we know so far about suspected mushroom poisonings in Victoria

Police continue to investigate three suspected mushroom poisoning deaths after a family lunch last month in Leongatha in Victoria's east. Detectives have not laid any charges, but say the woman who served the meal remains a suspect. Here's what we know...

Just watching the body language in the video OP linked to...it's obvious she is lying and putting on an act of grief. She blatantly evades questions about the details of the incident. She overtly multiple times makes gestures of wiping tears away. Her acting is quite bad really.

The police need to discover the motive...is she or her children due to inheritance from the now deceased elderly relatives? Life insurance payout? Property inheritance?

There's also just too many 'coincidences' to ignore...her not getting poisoned herself, I mean I get kids being fussy and not liking mushrooms, hence they didn't eat it, or if the woman was vegan or had a dietary allergy, where she didn't eat the beef & mushroom wellington, but made it for her guests, as they eat meat etc. But she is guilty AF...police need to seize her phone, any digital devices and look for incriminating stuff.

It would be a real shocker to me if she was genuinely innocent.

Lol Miss Marple

If you were on trial (guilty or not guilty) would you rather the jurors listened to the facts before making a decision or would you hope that they're all people like you who think they can read body language so well that they can detect guilt from a few minutes video

🤦‍♀️

Nine next week Nine will screen a one off Under Investigation episode on the story attracting world headlines.

Liz Hayes and her team of investigators probe the mystery gripping Australia and the world. Three dead, another clinging to life, after a mushroom lunch in small-town Victoria.

8:40pm Wednesday August 23 on Nine.

Hate to break it to you (lol), but the jurors, should this come to trial, will be served a banquet of evidence, which is currently being amassed.

I read this as though you'd been making lots of them whilst reading the thread. I think I'm too tired to follow anything today 😄

Haha. I wish I had I love beef wellington.

It's barmy! But this rather ''sleepy looking'' woman does appear to have amassed a lot of er....inherited wealth.

I follow an online mushroom ingestion poisons advice group

In fairness this raises far more questions than it answers.

Checked out the group, discovered that 6 of my friends were already members 😮

Wealthy parents I think.

alwaysonadiet1 · 17/08/2023 12:09

The parents both died in 2019 according to one of the newspaper reports. Hopefully not in the same week.

Xenia · 17/08/2023 12:12

Could make the divorce very expensive (if it were England where even inherited wealth goes in the post very often).

Australia as a country is just out to kill people - spiders, snakes, sharks, and now mushrooms - you name it, it's out to get you.

You forgot the crocs and the jelly fish.

There's been a couple of cases of mushroom deaths where I am, but all involving recent immigrants. Most Aussies would know it's bloody hard to tell the safe from the deadly mushrooms.

No powdering necessary, only experts can tell them apart @Stravaig .

Well I would fucking hope so! Unlike many on this thread I don't think you can decide someone's guilt from watching a short video.

😂

Imagine the prosecution 😂 here, watch this video you can see how guilty she is from the way she wiped her eyes ...

Precisely. Sleepy looking woman amasses wealth via inheritance from wealthy parents... 🫣

Sleepy? Wrong one of the Seven Dwarves.

Sleepy? Wrong one of the Seven Dwarves.

Which should she be?
Been a long tome since I watched Snow White...

Had to Google...

Aha! I think I know which of the Dwarfs you are alluding to.

For someone with three deaths on her plate, she doesn't seem particularly remorseful.

This is a case that has an International reach, much like the Christopher Watts case in USA a few years back.

Many years ago when Prince Harry had his cannabis smoking event {occurred in friend's village} the World's Media was camped out outside the pub where it 'Allegedly' happened.

She might be the evil queen but we shall have to wait until the end to find out. Innocent until proven guilty.

I hope not poisoned- Harold Shipman in U.K. was seen as a meek mild man but was poisoning patients and altering wills in his favour-
Was only spotted by a sharp eyed pharmacist-
Otherwise Shipman could have poisoned even more innocent people.

News I accessed from UK says the poisoned victim in intensive care Ian Wilkinson is ''showing signs of improvement'' according to his relatives. 🙏

Please let his be true... He could give vital evidence if he gets well enough to speak.

It says in the report that Erin is still a suspect and it will be a''Lengthy'' process.

https://www.9news.com.au/national/mushroom-mystery-victoria-mushroom-cooks-statement-being-circulated-was-unhelpful-to-investigation-police-say/fd92626e-71a5-44e4-86ac-21b083a8a2d4

Hope he makes a full recovery. However I suspect he was fully interviewed already before he fell too ill, as will the three who sadly passed away.
