Have perused a couple of blogs and left some comments, got some more to do and I will blog myself today (and do that overdue tag that Dior sent). Whizzz, sorry about the craft fair, am a bit bemused as to why people would buy in jewellery for a craft fair, not really in the general spirit of things, is it?

Am beside myself with excitement about bracelets and I actually dreamt about them last night. I shall be very chic, wafting around with my new image and timelessly stylish bracelets.

Had another wardrobe clearout (this time worn out clothes) and ds gave me a pile of stuff that he's outgrown/doesn't fit his emo image that I need to trug down the charity shop. Took dd charity shopping this morning and we came back with a jenga set, a giant snakes and ladders boardgame and I got a new jacket, it's gorgeous, short, fitted and with a blue lace trim. And cost me a fiver.

Nearly finished MILs berry knitting bag, it will be done by Tuesday which is timely as that is her birthday. One of these days, I will actually manage to get a project done early!!

I laughed at one person that came over to my stall from a 'bought in' stall & commented how nice my things were. I asked her if she made things herself & she said "oh no I don't have time for that"!!
I almost thought to be cheeky & asked if she'd like to stock some hand crafted goods (rather than bought in from China - she told me that !!!!) - but I resisted
I also meant to go & look what price she was charging but didn't

Next time I'm at our local craft fair, I'm going to have a good look at the labels, it just never occurred to me that stuff wouldn't be crafted. I am obviously hopelessly naive.

I would actually love to get a stall but I just wouldn't have the bottle.

Lets do a MN one !!!!!!

Ranting - there's no labels, thats the trouble, but you can just tell that they are mass produced in some asian sweat shop.

I love it once I'm there, but all the preparation & panic is very stressful - took most of yesterday sorting out bags & prices & flyers etc

Proper hand crafted stuff....made by people who love to make things....

Thinking about it, I think there was only 2 other stalls where the people were actually selling what they had made - 1 card stall & 1 other jewellery.
There were bought in cushion covers, bags, toiletries, Pheonix cards & kids clothes & the 3 other bought in jewellery stalls.

I do like the idea of doing an MN craft stall actually, shall ponder a while on that. Am blog writing aswell at the moment, I shall be back!

Yes, am with you on the able to tell if somethings crafted, have thought a couple of times at stuff I've looked at at craft fairs. Knew something wasn't quite right, just couldn't put my finger on it!

Whizzz · 31/05/2008 22:11

hmmmm - could we do a 'virtual one'?? - get a collective small business ad on here & then post our various items in a Pic trail or Flicker thingy ??

ranting · 31/05/2008 22:13

That would be a good idea, given that we're probably all miles away from each other. I'm quite away from the beaten track unless anyone else lives on the A1.

Lol, I remember ds could yak the hind legs off a donkey when he was younger, soon as he hit his teens, bam, we're lucky if he even acknowledges a good morning. He does still give me a peck on the cheek before he ambles off to bed though.

DH is working all day today, Taking pictures at some sort of awards ceromon at Slimming World all day.. so thats probably it for crafts then, at least I got to do painting yesterday.

I may distract DS with snacks and a dvd and have a quick bath before he gets wise and turfs me out so he can play in my bath water.

I may try to update my etsy shop but that takes concentration... rigth DS wittering on about what kind of snacks can he have... breakfast was only 15 min ago... sigh... have a lovely sunday... I hope the rain stops soon
