oooh nbg, you lucky thing!!!

I think you need to do a giveaway soon (big )

dizzyday07 · 24/05/2008 02:10

Well my mini-quilt is finished - I'll show you all a pic later

vInTaGeVioLeT · 24/05/2008 08:54

wow Dizzy bit of burning of midnight oil there!! cant wait to see pic.

i made the stupid mistake of staying up till 2am too - ds woke a 6am having wet the bed but took him in with me and got a few more Zzzzzzzz's - very annoying as he had a really late night which would normally guarantee me a lie-in so grumpy 3yr old today no-doubt!!

Miaou · 24/05/2008 10:23

Argh vintage what a pain! Ds2 has just started sleeping through the night (he went from feeding three times to dropping all feeds and sleeping through in the space of about a week!!) so I have lots of energy to craft do housework

dizzyday07 · 24/05/2008 12:53

Here are the pics

front and back

VV - I was up at 5am too as DD was running a temperature and she came into our bed - I put her at the top next to DH whilst I was at the bottom (topping and tailing!!) but she ended up down beside me a few times - so I gave up and got up at 8am!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 24/05/2008 13:50

that's lovely dizzy bet your exhausted today!!

Oooh Dior that sounds blissful

I dream of the day that all 3 children will have sleepovers on the same days or litle trips away so that my ears can get some peace

Dizzy the quilt is brilliant. You must be very pleased.
Hope your dd is better too.

Vintage the doll teasers are brillo!
I cant wait to see the whole thing.
Fwiw, I was changing dd's bed last night at half 11 as she had an accident.
Well I say accident, we've had to put her back in nappies on a night even though she was dry, and last night she forgot to put one on.
Am having to wash all the bedding now, including the duvet.

Miaou, I am having a giveaway atm. I was sure you'd left a comment.
Go and have a look and leave a comment.

GM, can you leave a comment too. You left one on another post saying you wanted to enter but I know what I'm like, I'll totally forgot when it comes to the draw and I'll leave you out.

Dh let me have a nice lie in today so I got up at 11.
I had been awake since 5am with ds2 though.
Dh couldnt go and collect the fabrics for me either as we had a right ole faff with our Norton anti virus thing.
He spent 2 hours on the phone trying to sort it.
But he's collecting tomorrow after work as the lady only lives 2 mins away.
Very excited

Oh and I found this website last night.
Its my birthday on Thursday and I think I'm going to get one with my money.
Its all I've been able to think about!
Shes also got a blog and I've been sending her a few emails.
She seems ever so nice.

It took me straight to the brown and I thought eurghhhh but the green looks like a totally different shoe.

They are lovely.
Are they comfy?

Marks and Spencers are renowed for making their products look crap on their website though.

I dont know how they do it!

Whizzz · 24/05/2008 17:29

We went to a craft fair & medieval thing today. Crafts were mixed. A couple of 'proper' hand crafted jewellery stalls & a few more 'bought in to sell' stalls (Grr).
One of the nicest stalls was selling loads of lavender type things - lovely little sausage dogs with a bit of lavender in & various sachet type things. Really pretty fabric & I thought of all you sewing people.
Another stall that caught my eye (although was pricey) was selling handbags made from recyled US number plates! like these - what do you think!

mistypeaks · 24/05/2008 18:14

WOW - f**^ me they're expensive, but I love those bags Whizz.
Dior - Nice shoes although the brown do look horrible.
NBG - I'm not sure I can remember which is your blog?!?
We went to the seaside today. (and a cheeky car boot got nail polish for me (blue/purple and silver yum) and loads of bits for the girls to destroy play with.
They were fab at the seaside. There is something so rewarding about seeing kids on the beach. Got a few bits of inspiration for Meri's challenge (am saying no more - but this will be one very close to my heart)
DD1 has fallen in love with the toadstool for the swap!!! (what do I do?)

mistypeaks · 24/05/2008 18:16

Oh yeah by the way. Have any of you checked out my new blog logo yet? Or have you looked but not commented 'cus you don't like it?

Nbg · 24/05/2008 18:24

Mine is Mee Crafty, Misty.

I know what you mean about kids and the beach.
Its like they feel totally free when they're there.
My kids love it. Ds1 who is usually a very clingy and tbh quite insecure little boy, absolutely lets go and runs wild on the beach.
Not to mention the sea air knocking them out at the end of the day.

I want to take dd to Robin Hoods bay soon to collect fossils and rock pool explore.

The logo is good btw.
I dont know how you all manage to do them.
I did one which took me ages and it was simplest of logos, then when I came to upload the thing it wouldnt accept it!

Embroidery question.
I haven't got a loop but I need to embroider something quite heavily and the area isnt very big.
How do I do it without a loop?

mistypeaks · 24/05/2008 18:58

Well they're not knocked out yet . Give it 5 minutes . . .
My dd1 is shy and clingy, but she was running into the waves like a maniac. DD2 who is a total daredevil was just as I expected . . . a total daredevil. 'twas great!!!
The logo was easy really. I painted it on some paper, gave it to DH to scan at work. He saved it as a jpeg and hey presto!!
Sorry I know stuff all about embroidery!!

Miaou · 24/05/2008 19:54

NBG, do you mean a hoop?

Could you put iron-on interface on the back of the fabric without spoiling the final finish?

I'm making a little dolly bag for dd2 to go with her dress for the wedding. I've sewn lazy daisy stitches and seed beads on it and I just need to sew it up now.

My computer is playing up , dh is convinced I keep knackering it but this time it really wasn't me!! He is out fishing today and I'm not looking forward to breaking the news to him when he gets in. I am on the laptop atm and I don't like it as much.

I went to the fabric shop today with my friend and her daughter to choose fabric for her ballgown - I really am doing it! Scary and big learning curve, so I really hope I can deliver the goods. Just as I was beginning to think the pressure was easing off, having finished my suit and my doll swap doll!

Oh - speaking of which, my doll from Margy from Hmm designs arrived today! It's absolutely gorgeous and ds1 loves it, but can't blog it because my computer ... yadda yadda yadda

Nbg · 24/05/2008 21:16

Yes I mean hoop

DD and I have been drawing loops today so they are on the brain

The nearest thing I have to interfacing is wonderweb lol.
Would that do it?

Computers are annoying arent they.
We couldnt work the internet the other day and dh blamed me for using "dodgy sites" .
In the end I had to call our provider. I put the phone on loudspeaker as I knew there would be a long hold time.
Then came on a recorded message.

"We are experiencing problems connecting our customers to the internet. We have no estimated time of repair so please keep trying"

This was my face,
This was dh

I heard a bit of muttering too.

dizzyday07 · 24/05/2008 21:30

Nbg - I'm no good at embroidery so no help at all!!

DD still now well - episodes of shooting temp all day - but she's asleep now.

But WHOOP WHOOP I've almost finished my functional felt swap!!

ranting · 24/05/2008 22:38

Hello everyone GM glad you got him, am trying to catch up with blogs and whatnot. Might not get round to commenting tonight, I have a ton of emails to reply to but I will at some point. Had a quick peek at Dizzys work of art, I love that.

Been catching up with my parents today, who've just returned from their french hovel chateau, so not a lot of time for crafting.

Whizzz · 25/05/2008 08:58

Well I am off to a bead fair today
Lots of lovely shiny beadies for me
I have to put myself on a strict budget or it gets expensive!

Nbg · 25/05/2008 09:21

Morning all.

I'm doing bugger all today.
Have been up all night with a vomiting dd and I am beyond knackered.

Shes now fast asleep in bed and I've been up for over an hour with my boys.

Its typical that it happens when dh is on his sleep in shift.

Neeever mind.
