hey miaou - my local charity shop has masses of vintage unused zips in nice colours pretty cheap if you need more as they're so expensive new aren't they

Miaou · 20/05/2008 22:49

Hmm yes I just paid £3.10 for mine. If I made a bag though I shan't put a zip in, probably just a magnetic clasp (quieter for getting stuff in and out during the ceremony!!)

Miaou · 20/05/2008 22:55

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Monkee Maker is taking a year off!!!

lucykate · 20/05/2008 22:57

i've been thinking about all these memes that keep going round, i really want to start one, have a few ideas for what it will involve.

lucykate · 20/05/2008 22:59

WHAT?! , no monkeys for a whole year!

there are quite a few people taking some time away from blogging, wise craft, posy gets cosy was having a break but only lasted a week!

Tillyboo · 20/05/2008 23:07

Eh, what ? Whose having a blogging break ? Have I missed some news?

Been very busy today, been all over the place so just popping in to see what's new ...

vInTaGeVioLeT · 21/05/2008 00:52

thanks for the comments on my blog
since i put the last post on i've 60 views but i wonder if it's 'cause i used the words virgin/swap/deflower/juicy and doll in the post!? what d'ya think?
60 views in 4 hrs seems unlikely as i'd only had 12 in 3 days before that!!!!!

mistypeaks · 21/05/2008 07:28

Right then. I'll have to do a blog about a doll who is great and has a big heart. Sometimes she says the wrong thing, which means she gets her knockers but generally is well loved. Just see how many views that will get .

in a bit of a funk today... DS being a little brat... had a lovely day out til we went swimming then DS who promised to do two jumps for some jelly bath(crap) refused, threw a big fit squeezed out two little tears... I ended up crying in the showers DS saying sorry but only becuse he relized he had lost out on playing Mario on the nintendo for a week and all his treats... I sobbed again when we got home.. mind I'm a bit of a cryer once I start I can't normally stop very soon... he likes swimming and the water but wont jump and he knows thats what I want so he acts out all the more... sigh...

going to be calm and collected now... going to have a shower wash my hair and tidy this rats nest that used to be a house.. I think

and all this talk of memes I have collected a few that I might sit down and fill out.. and maybe drag my beads out but I don't feel all that creative just now...

LK- you should start a new meme they are so addictive to read and to fill out!

mistypeaks · 21/05/2008 09:23

Ah Meri - They never cease to push the right buttons do they? My 2 wanted to draw and stick today. 2 minutes into it, they kick off (no idea why) So now they're back in the living room playing with the toys they didn't want earlier!!!
I'm in a foul mood anyway. My work does a childcare voucher scheme which I thought would be really useful to me. I want to be able to put dd2 into pre-school the same days as dd1 (I know she is going to miss her and be really sad) but I can't afford that. I can't get the vouchers 'cus I don't earn enough money , I can't get working tax credits as I don't do enough hours, Basically I get no help from anywhere because either I work or because I don't. Earn too much or not enough. If I do any more hours I would not physically be able to look after the kids (I'm knackered half the time now) so they would end up in full time child care which exactly what I'm trying to avoid by working night shift in the first place!!! Talk about double standards and stuff. I would start a thread about it, but I'd get loads of YABUs!!!!
Going to work on a logo for my blog today. Will do a link if I manage it!!

Nbg · 21/05/2008 09:46

Poor Meri.
You have my sympathy.
Its my ds1 who's pushing my buttons atm. He is just so incredibly mischeivious, its untrue.
On Sunday when he woke from his nap, he pulled alot of wallpaper off his wall which revealed a nice hole with a pipe behind it.
So we now have to decorate his room.
And thats just a taster!

Mioau and Vintage, great to see sneaky doll pics! Vintage yours is lovely.
When they've arrived to your partners, I will add the photos to flickr.

I'm sending mine today. Shes all wrapped up and ready to go.

I'm having a giveaway on my blog too now.
Here

meri, two of my friends are doing a course atm, it's a qualification to become a teaching assistant, they've been learning lots a new facts/figures about kids, especially boys!. at this age they have a surge of testosterone, which plays a big part in their behaviour. he's starting school in september isn't he?, sounds like he's about ready for it. i know ds is well ready for starting his 5 pre school sessions in sept, i've asked if i can join them up, so he'll actually do 3 days, 9-3.30, we'll just have to pay for 3 lunchtimes and 1 afternoon session then, and it'll give me 3 full days to work myself.

mistypeaks · 21/05/2008 10:40

JeanGenie - I have emailed you ref Covent Garden. finally got into my email (seems I was putting the wrong password in )

ranting · 21/05/2008 10:50

Morning all, thought I'd check in before I go to work. You've all been sooo busy, yes even you Whizz.

MP (do I know you , you remind me of someone ), I sympathise, that don't earn enough, earn a fiver too much thing is a complete pita. Had that when I was bringing up ds on my own, it's enough to make you want to throw in the towel!

Miaou, ah yes boys at that age, had to 'walk' ds every day at that age, just like a dog and boy, did he have a will of iron! He's bloody lovely now but, he was hard work at that age, especially just before he had a growth spurt, we'd have temper tantrams, dramatic tears, the works. Nobody ever warns you about this stuff with boys.

Jg, on a course near Waterloo next week so can probably meet up for the iknit thing.

Thanks for the tag Dior, I'll have a look at that.

Hello LK and the rest of you, want to peruse the blogs when I get a minute. I'm going to park my backside on here Friday night and not move for the entire evening.

mistypeaks · 21/05/2008 11:40

Ranting - I don't think so. Although you never know who you work with, Have met through friends, used to work with/live with etc? Unless you're from Midlands or Staffs it is unlikely . . .

ranting · 21/05/2008 11:41

Ahem, was having a little jest about your name change

mistypeaks · 21/05/2008 11:44

D'uh . Sorry am v tired!!! Little ones were up at 5am and I worked last night (and it was a heavy night so I really 'worked') I did the old put the teabags in the fridge, milk in the sink thing this morning!!!!
I really am very very very thick today. Hopefully will get a sleep this afternoon and wake up with a brain cell.
There was me racking my brains thinking Do I know her?

ranting · 21/05/2008 11:51

Ahhh come back, we've all been there, have been known to make a coffee without boiling the kettle first! And yesterday I put sugar in my morning coffee, I don't take flipping sugar!!

mistypeakshasgoneawayinshame · 21/05/2008 11:55

no shan't

ranting · 21/05/2008 11:56

But you're great, you are!!

meridian · 21/05/2008 12:02

thanks everyone, I feel better now but it just really shook me... he threw such a fit, and all i want him to do is jump in the pool... he will do it for his swim lessons but not for me... the tears just wring my heart out to have to shout and yell at him and turn all fishwife and I feel totally evil. the this I REALLY can't stand is the constant whinging, whining, whimpering.

LK- yes he starts in september, right now he is doing doubled up pre-school sessions on mondays, and fridays, with a half session on wed. so I can do a bit of crafting, and cleaning, and cooking, and occasionally help DH with small bits of work for the studio, and help Frizbe out on occasion with thier comic shop.

my brain is frazzled today...going to make another coffee and see if that wakes me up to get something finished...

ranting · 21/05/2008 12:05

Sorry Meri I read you as Miaou!! My boys comment was intended for you.

mistypeakshasgoneawayinshame · 21/05/2008 12:14

Come on Ranting join me in the Shame Hut. We wear pjs and drink cold tea!!!!
Meri - I too hate the whingeing. DD1 does it all the time. Bottom lip quivering, speaking in an inaudible voice, in baby language (worse than a baby!!) Mommy's crime. I asked her what she wanted . We're now ignoring one another
