Dior, just checked paypal and it says its expected date to clear is today so when I get back this afternoon I will check again and at the latest I will pay you tomorrow.
Hope thats ok

Bloody paypal. More hassle than its worth at times!

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 01/04/2008 09:31

I'm really glad Nbg. Thanks.

I have decided to stitch a picture for ds. Cross Stitch Gold has an ABC chart and it comes in two parts. The first two letters of ds' name are in the first half, and I have half the thread colours in my treasure trove already. So, hopefully, by the time the next issue comes out, with ds' third letter, I should have stitched the first two.

Off to Tiptree today, to the fab craft shop, to buy the other thread colours I need and maybe some beads....

chrissnow · 01/04/2008 09:36

There's a fab craft shop in Tiptree .

I really need to learn a little more local knowledge!!! I have found another nice little place in Blake End, but it's more a fine weather type of place!!

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 01/04/2008 09:38

Chris - yes, it is called The Cheap Shop and is a treasure trove of all things crafty! See you there later .

Whizzz · 01/04/2008 09:38

LK the shop looks great. I love the co-ordinating colours, it makes it all look very professional Best of luck in the venture.

I've just bought a couple of display things for bracelets & necklaces for my first 'craft marquee' thing at the end of May.

And I'm doing a crochet lariat, this time with proper thread. So far one string out of 3 completed.
BUT today I MUST do my ironing!

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 01/04/2008 09:41

Whizz - what display items did you buy? I love your driftwood that you usually use. At the moment, I am 'displaying' my stuff on a Tesco value pin board .

lucykate · 01/04/2008 09:43

just popping in, have to do some research today, ds has been poorly for 2 weeks now, including a rash. few others have had same too, ds's nursery are saying they have a case of scarlet fever there, am now wondering if that is what ds has had.

feeling bad now as i'm quite hard on my dc's when it comes to illness, i never take them to the doctors, unless they have a limb hanging off on the basis of the doc's don't do anything other than, say 'yes, they are ill', don't tend to give ab's to kids do they. but ds has been offish, weird rash on his trunk that is now peeling.

haven't checked etsy yet but have had some emails, i think i've sold something already

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 01/04/2008 09:43

Oh, hope the dc are ok LK. Well done on the first sale!!!

chrissnow · 01/04/2008 09:46

LK - poor little dc. Have had a longer look at your blog. You are some kind of genius!!
Dior - see you later

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 01/04/2008 09:48

Chris - I am still in my PJs too! Will head off there early pm probably...still tempted? I will be the one hissing, 'DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING' at ds

chrissnow · 01/04/2008 09:53

You'll think there's an echo then as I hiss at DD1 'put it back' and 'and you' to dd2!!
dd1 has had 3 tantrums already this morning!! May have to craft a ball gag for her!!!

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 01/04/2008 09:54

Ah bless - three tamtrums...

Miaou · 01/04/2008 09:56

Cor wow LK, you have sold two items and your shop has only been open about 12 hours!!! Looks fab btw.

The dds and I decided to do our own "enterprise project" this holiday (they are on week 2 now of Easter hols) so we are setting up a shop on ebay selling teddies (ordinary ones, not handmade). Yesterday I bought fabric to use as backdrops and today we are going to photograph them. So I got all organised this morning - and where are they??? In bed still

I am going back to crocheting doll no. 2 - humph. Sod em.

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 01/04/2008 09:58

Brilliant LK!

Gingermonkey · 01/04/2008 10:01

I am in PJs too!!!

LK - I'm the same with my DCs, don't let them get ill and feel sorry for themselves, and they never see the Doc's. DD has had AB 1x, and that was against my will. DS has (so far) never had them. My MIL is always moaning because I don't take them to the docs, but most of the time I find that rest, a bit of calpol and some TLC (inluding ice cream and biscuits) work wonders . Scarlet fever does have a peeling rash - I think (there was an outbreak of it at DD's school), but I am sure it's much the same as chicken pox - as in there's no treatment for it. Poor little mite Hope he feels better soon!!!
And congrats - 2 items sold, I just had a little look!

Dior, chrissnow - go on and get shopping!

NBG - heels, eh? Have a loely time!

Whizzz · 01/04/2008 10:05

Dior I bought one of those T Bar things for bracelets & a metal stand thing with 4 arms for necklaces both in white - 2nd hand as I'm still on a budget! My 'table cloth' is a pair of rather nice 'shot silk type' curtains in dark plum! I was also going to use my driftwood & I bought 3 small wooden bowls to use somewhere too. I will have to remember to take a pic to show - I'm nervous already!!

chrissnow · 01/04/2008 10:14

I don't feel so bad for being a slob now!!!
I really really shouldn't go shopping. I have 6.5 balls of wool, millions of beads, some findings etc, 3 bin bags of fabric in the loft (we had guests and had to get them out of the spare room)A box full of paints and brushes, glue, glitter and buttons galore!!! I don't actually need anything else!!! Except some time and talent to do something with it all!!! (Gosh typing all that has made me realise just how much stuff I have )
My list of projects :-
Paint jewellery drawer for girls' bedroom
Do inspiration challenge
Make some lavender sachet thingies
make 3 x necklaces
finish bag
knit scarf
work out what I want to do with other wool!!
Make 1 x birthday card for 2 year old boy (designed in head)
Make 2 x anniversary cards for friends
Make some little thank you cards for abundance of easter eggs and gifts for girlies. (that will take about 2 minutes - give girls paper, glue, paint, crayons etc!!!)
Come up with some kind of design to cover/embellish re-usable eco bag thing that is now my knitting bag.
Sand/paint/decorate knackered chest of drawers in girls' room (does that count as craft or is it too 'big')?
I think that's it. Speak to you all next spring!!!!

chrissnow · 01/04/2008 10:15

Oh yeah I suppose you lot want me to do a blog as well!!!

lucykate · 01/04/2008 10:47

lol at you lot all still in your pj's, am i to assume your all on easter hols from school?!

am feeling left ot, am dressed but going to put my pj's back on and persuade ds he does need a nap

we're not off till next week!

chrissnow · 01/04/2008 10:52

Mine are too young to go to school yet anyway. I work nights and am generally so knackered I don't get dressed til late morning (unless I'm going out obviously)!! I am a slob!!

jeangenie · 01/04/2008 10:54

we are not off til next week either...and thenI am taking DD1 to see my dad in Ireland so we won't be lounging around in pjs either

LK - congrats on first sales - brilliant you must be pleased

NBG - yes, just answer the same questions...but if you want to mutate the meme please do...Meri's link yesterday has made me very interested in how these things can mutate along the way

Whizzz · 01/04/2008 11:07

LK I go back on Thursday, DS on Monday. Hence why I am franticaly trying to get the house in order & make it look like I've done something since being off

rantingwageslave · 01/04/2008 11:14

I got my GM swap parcel today. Thank you GM, guess what though. I had to fight dd off, so I am left with one mouse (it's lavender) for my sock drawer. Dd pleaded for the purse but ha, I won, I'm having it! Am so excited about it that I will pinch a camera from ds and blog it later, thank you.
Am having a bit of a marish couple of weeks so your parcel has cheered me up no end. Thank you.

Gingermonkey · 01/04/2008 11:43

Oooh, that sneaky DD of yours!! I'm glad you like it - I know I sent you a lavender thingy last time, but the mice look good in vintage fabric, so you got more lavender (sorry!). Next time - I promise no more lavender!!!

rantingwageslave · 01/04/2008 11:44

Rest easy GM, I love lavender, so apparently does dd! Never mind back to school next week.
