lol about the bead Whizzz.

Heres my stupid purchase.
Bought 2 meters of Calico last night.
£2.45. Bargain I thought.
Checked out

£8! Eight fecking english pounds!
They robbed me on postage!

I think its the most expensive fabric I've bought yet!

Whizzz · 19/04/2008 09:06

But Dior...it's a yummy handcrafted lampwork bead 3.5cm long, puts seed beads to shame

Miaou · 19/04/2008 14:54

Anyone seen/heard from LucyKate? She sounded so fed up last time she posted and she hasn't come back on her other thread either.

LK, if you are reading, hope you are ok

Blimey Dizzy - you've been busy on fab stuff!

I went to a beading class today and almost finished an 'Oogalala' bracelet. It is really pretty, but BLOODY hard to do. I felt like a complete novice. It is still a WIP at the moment, but should be finished by the end of the weekend, so I will blog it then!

Hope you are all having great weekends. I now have a headache around the eyes and am thinking longingly of a Grenache Rosé!

chrissnow · 19/04/2008 20:16

oogalala?? pmsl!!

Miaou · 19/04/2008 20:36

hello, thank you for the friendly squeeze miaou, it's much appreciated

yes, i have been a bit fed up, it's been a hard week with the dc's, not helped by dh being away, plus this blardy tonsillitis keeps reappearing. dd has improved over the past few days, and we have even been giving potty training another go with ds, it's going much better this time round. we've only had a couple of little accidents, but most wee's and poo's have made it into the potty!! has been helped along by the purchase of some pirate pants which he's very proud to wear. he looks so cute in them with his skinny, bandy, little legs, his bottom is so tiny. sorry, problem tmi

anyway, dh is home now, we've all had chinese take away and i have a pile of japanese craft books to flick through this evening. normal crafting will be resuming next week.

Dingle · 19/04/2008 22:15

vInTaGe sorry it wasn't as much as I'd have liked, but I just wanted needed to get a few things out the way! Please let me see what you make!!

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 19/04/2008 23:10

Well, I finished the bracelet . I have blogged it.

As I say on the blog, I am never making another. It was so hard to make and time-consuming. My friend and I are booking the one in two months because it is a double spiral, which we think we can manage, but my Mum said it was too much for her.

dizzyday07 · 19/04/2008 23:52

Dior - WOW!! That looks such an achievement.

Miaou · 20/04/2008 08:32

Goodness Dior, I take my hat off to you - I seriously wouldn't have the patience to do that!

Bugger bugger bugger

I have an odd number for the swap!
Does anyone want to change their mind and join?!!!!

I knew this would happen
lol

Miaou · 20/04/2008 08:38

LK, glad you are feeling a bit better, had forgotten you are potty training on top of all that! How old is ds? Ds1 is 2.9 and I keep wondering about trying him but he has never asked about using the potty. Trouble is if his sisters are anything to go by he never will and I will have to push the issue at some point. Summer holidays is my cut-off point as he starts nursery after that!

He (ds1) has woken up this morning with a real barking cough - I think he has croup again - he's quite breathless too, poor wee soul!

hi guys - back from france - ate tonnes (almost literally) of moules, had bracing beach walks, lots of croissants, nice wine was lovely. And I helped my pal with her knitting and got her loving instead of hating the craft (mostly by loaning her some lovely needles and teaching her a great cast on method) so all was great. Home to a visit from my sister and her family so NO crafting. Really need to get back in.

NBG I had actually been wondering whether I should ask if I could join you...I do have lots of other swaps on though. Tell me the date for sending stuff again and I will see if I could manage it....would love to try a doll but 'twould be very novice attempt...not sure if that would be ok you seem to have some very experienced doll makers signed up...

Nbg · 20/04/2008 09:19

Ooooh JG I will love you for all eternity if you do

You have a month from today but allowing a bit of time after that for posting as there are a few overseas participants.

If you can let me know asap and email me your details that would be fab.

Glad to hear you had a good time in France. I am slightly jealous. It sounded lovely.
And well done on the knitting.
You'll have to teach me someday.
No one has managed to so far

Miaou, you have me slightly worried about Ethan now.
I'm wondering if he has Croup?
Poor little Euan.

lucykate · 20/04/2008 10:56

miaou, ds is 3 in 6 weeks, and like your ds, starts his pre school sessions in september. he's been using the potty at bathtime for a while, but last time i tried him during the day, it all ended in tears. but a week later, on thursday morning, he got up, took his nappy off and put pants on all by himself, so we are now on day 4. ideally, i wanted to leave it a bit longer though, at least until the weather was a bit warmer as he's just running around in pants and a top, no trousers, but he's doing ok.

Miaou · 20/04/2008 11:20

NBG, tis Calum, not Euan who has the cough - have had the drier on in the kitchen and the window shut and it seems to have done the trick! He is not coughing as much now . He seems quite happy in himself fortunately. Last month was my first ever brush with croup - cough like a bark, quite distinctive.

LK, my major problem at the moment is that ds1 will not deign to sit on the potty unless fully clothed

Am feeling lousy today, sore throat, swollen glands, so not planning to do much. Have loads of washing to do but have asked dh to do the dinner so I get a bit of a rest. Will still do some knitting though!!
