MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 20/04/2008 13:00

Oh LK, I would have loved to but am working. Another time definitely!

Despite what I said, I am making another Ogalala bracelet, because the first is slightly too long. Plus, I feel like it almost beat me and I can't have that!!!

Nbg · 20/04/2008 15:52

Ok I have posted about the swap partners here

Also GM if you see this first, I have emailed you about the swap with your partner and about the merry legs too.
Hope you have got them.

Whizzz · 20/04/2008 16:33

Hi all. I have blogged the gemstone bracelet & today saw (in Coast) another idea for beady things. Thin chiffon scarves onto which seed beads have been sewn. The ends of the scarves had tassels of seed beads & they looked rather nice might have a play as I have lots of scarves I could 'modify'!.

Gingermonkey · 20/04/2008 18:48

I still have sporadic internet - this is a blooming nightmare!!!
LK - big squeeze from me too, hope you are feeling better (a few lovely strokes coming your way too, stroke stroke )
NBG - emailed you back.

Evening ladies.
Dior, am speechless with admiration for that bracelet, it looks like a lot work went into it too.
Well, have not had a lot of crafting time this weekend friend came down from Wilts for the weekend (miss her so much, I curse her dh's job), we had a great time, drinking wine, doing Wii challenges etc, it was a real giggle, really enjoyed it.
Sooo, I aim by the end of this week to finish the GM son owl and Miaous' flapper girl and I DID get the sewing machine out Thursday and knocked up a knitting bag (well it's not quite finished yet but...).

Morning all.

Dior that does look like one hell of a fiddly bracelet!
Lovely colours though.

GM, hope your internet gets sorted soon.

Ranting your weekend sounded good

I've done zilcho, well actually I lie, I have sorted out the doll swap and I've started a bracelet for Cod. She doesnt know about it but its just a little thank you pressie for her.
Oh and I've also joined the Northern Belles blog.
Sara from allabouteden had joined the doll swap and asked if I wanted to join.
I feel slightly out of my depth

Also my friend had her baby yesterday in the early hours.
A girl called Katy. I can't wait to see her!

jeangenie · 21/04/2008 10:16

oooh Katy is a lovely name - my best friend I've had since I was 12 is called that, and we shorten my sisters name to that, and of course there is a lovely MN crafter called that...can't go wrong with Katy really

well done on sorting out doll swap NBG - I am a bit nervous I got ravenhill, given I have never made a doll before and she is a pro but I'm hoping I can pick some brains on here...it's quite fun actually - am planning it already

I put my computer away last night as I really needed to get something made (for my mental sanity as much as the many pressing swaqp deadlines) and am very pleased as I managed to make my thing for Meri's vintage swap as well as 10 or so very pretty hanging lavender sachets...we've discovered moths in our bedroom so need to dissuade them from eating all our clothes somehow

I had worried was losing mojo and getting fed up but now I realise I just need to get on with it and put the silly computer away. Swaps are good for forcing you to do stuff...

blah blah blah...sorry for the ramble

GM hope connection gets sorted soon

LK am working Wednesday but will see if can wiggle it around - thanks for thinking of me, would love to go but am not sure will be able to manage it...will let you know if I can by end of today. Thanks

Nbg · 21/04/2008 10:19

JG

The thing that I love about this swap is that everyones style is so different.
Take Ravenhill for example, yes she does make dolls but they wouldnt be the first thing you would think of when you said doll would they? IYSWIM?

I really want to get on with mine.
I have my design ready but I need fabric!

startingoveragain · 21/04/2008 10:23

well i'e nearly finished knitting my first doll am gonna atemmpt to sew the lining into the nappy bag and see how it looks may knit it again so its perfect lol and maybe in red too

Hiya guys

Have managed to catch up a little on what's been happening - this board moves too fast for me now!

Sorry to hear that so many of you & your wee ones have been feeling rough - I hope you're all better soon. GM - no internet sounds an utter nightmare!

I've been knitting & crocheting my fingers off for swaps (surprise surprise) although I still haven't finished JBR's vintage swap yet.

I had a bit of exciting news when an American lady asked if she could put my knitting pattern for fingerless gloves in a book that's due out in the autumn - it took me about 3 seconds to say yes so now I'm in the middle of writing down the pattern as well as working up a sample pair to send off for photos. Am very chuffed.

Still slowly sinking under a sea of woolly squares at the mo - I have over 100 but am waiting on around 10 more arriving that appear to have gone astray :0S
