I am trying to crochet my fairy but struggling with the arms at the moment. Meri, I have finished my meme, and tagged a few more people, including dizzyday and lucykate

My turn. . . My dd is having problems with me!!..
I've been doing a full week at work this week (staff shortages for them and cash shortages for me) I'm fairly tired (to put it mildly) Took dd1 to pre-school as normal this afternoon. put dd2 to bed when we got back and had a quick hour/hour and a half myself . . . except I didn't wake up for my alarm or it didn;t go off or i hadn't set it. Pre-school rang me to come and pick her up!! They were fine about it (even though all the paperwork you get at the start says they involve ss for failure to collect your child) The manager lives on my street and was walking up the path with her as I rounded the corner with mad hair and dd2 with no shoes on!! (in buggy) She said she suspected what had happened and not to worry I'm always usually there and not a mommy that they would have concerns about. dd1 was fine walking along hand in hand with manager and a choccy bar (which i suspect was from the 'neglected children' box) I feel just awful and cannot shake the guilt or feeling that it could have been something worse.
Anyway sorry this is supposed to be crafts. I just didn't want to post out there as i feel too fragile for some of the responses. I feel at least I am amongst 'friends' here.

chrissnow, don't worry, I think it says a lot that preschool is comfortable enough to say what they did re not being worried about it! And rest assured, you won't be the first! . I used to be manager of a pre-school and we had one mother who was quite often 20 minutes late picking him up, she was totally unconcerned (rather than neglectful) and it used to drive me mad, but even so I knew she wasn't a "bad" mother . And I doubt you would get flamed on the main site for that - lots of people do it! Have a {{{hug}}} though - nothing like kids for making you feel guilty

On a crafty note, I have finished the grobag!! Hooray! hopefully will take a pic (with ds2 in it ) but maybe not tonight, I'm off to Tae Bo (it's that time of the week already!)

I've made the silver, labradorite, iolite & swaro bracelet for Ninedragons but I can't post a pic yet 'cos I've not got the OK that it's OK yet. I did so many wrapped loops that my hands were aching.

I've also today took delivery of a large box of books & stuff for my course there goes my beading time

and my house looks like the local tip...does anyone have a magic wand???

I just knitted 35 rows of the back of dd2's cardigan - then discovered I should have increased on row 5

so I have had to pull it all back

Am now drowning my sorrows in wiiiiiine

I have made 60 percent of birthday bunting and have 5 days left to complete it.

Lilac flags (spare material), zigzag stitch, with sew on patches with groovy prints of crowns, purses, wands and bags, with pale pink binding made from an old sheet.

I am going to have to get off MN again to finish it at he weekend. Thanks for asking.

LK, My dd seems to be going through a similar thing.
Half of it is my fault because of the crap tv that she watches and the blooming advertising and I know when I go into town I have this thing about buying the kids a little something just because I love to see their faces.
I think I have to put some of the blame on my MIL too because she just spends and spends on them for no apparent reason.
Even at Easter, the kids ended up with £40 each, 3 eggs each and 2 new outfits each!
And thats just easter!
I decided that I'm putting a stop to that one as its just too much.

Chrissnow, I really wouldnt worry about the preschool.
I bet lots of parents have done it. I know I have!
Not to mention the amount of times dd has been off sick.
I'm dreading her starting proper school!

I havent done anything this week due to illness but dh is back at work today so I might do something later when the kids are in bed.
I cut out a template out of a felted jumper for a bunny so I could finish that.
I also want to order some fabric for the doll swap.
Just realised though that we go on holiday on the 6th May so I will have to start it when we get back i think.

I voted for tillyboo's princess and the pea and then thought, why not stick something of mine up there? Tilly the doll has had the best response so far so I put her up! (not sure what happens next though!)

hello folks - I've got a broken router, so my internet has been off
I think I've missed loads too...I'll go back through everything when I get a chance...just wanted to let you know. Hopefully I'll be back to normal next week - I can't cope without my laptop!!!!

Hi all I've finished Ninedragons bracelet & earrings. Just need to ensure she's ok with my posting a pic on here of them.
I haven't done much else this week - maybe I'll get some time at the weekend to do something. I need to make myself something to go with a dress I plan to wear to a Dooooooo - not sure what yet though.

startingoveragain - it's a year long dsylexia course I'm starting. What a glutton for punishment I am!

Have a day off and you all get your mojo back!! My, you've been busy, going to have a look at what you've been up to.
Went to a knitting club this lunchtime so that was a new experience (even got to have my lunch while I was there, I'm such a lady of leisure!) and been busy trying to get things done, got visitors all this weekend and the house looks like a bombsite!!
