I am trying to crochet my fairy but struggling with the arms at the moment. Meri, I have finished my meme, and tagged a few more people, including dizzyday and lucykate

Gingermonkey · 14/04/2008 16:36

lemme see it, lemme see it!!!

lucykate · 14/04/2008 16:56

hello everyone, my to do list is very short this week, basically consists if... get better

the tonsillitis is back, throat all swollen, red and spotty again, plus my eyes have swollen up too. dh went off to new york this morning which leaves me at home all week with the dc's, still on holiday from school.

luckily, we've had a playdate here this afternoon, so dd has been entertained, and we're off to a local adventure park tomorrow with a big gang of other mums/kids, so i'll be the one to sit and keep an eye on all the bags while the dc's run round squealing, weds. ds is at nursery so will get a chance of a slightly more peaceful day then.

Tillyboo · 14/04/2008 17:32

Phew GM - I was beginning to get a tad worried there. Glad you like her.

My next hanging has morfed into something else instead of a Rapunzel. I'll give you all a clue in that it's from another fairytale.

A fairytale of which my friend who is in her late 40's didn't know the story of ... I was aghast !

Why does my work always end up being bigger than I intended ? It's like my food portions and food shopping. A case of 'just in case' ... yeah, I'd better buy 2 bags of oranges just in case ...

I have a day on my own tomorrow (dd at school) so I may get to finish 'it'

LK - I have 'tree fever' this time of year, apparantly the Birch tree is the big culprit at the moment for swollen, watery and itchy eye. Bad hayfever makes you feel very fluey, if I keep up the Zirtek it seems to just take the edge off the symptoms slightly.

Miaou · 14/04/2008 18:16

lk sorry you are feeling so poorly! I love your little pink cat btw, it's beautiful

Lk, sorry you're feeling yucky, here's to feeling better soon (and everybody else too).
Dior, have often wanted to do the National but never got round to it yet, I wouldn't say I'm a mad fan of modern art and certainly not Britpop art, but I do like some of it (I can live without Rothko though, funnily enough ds describes Rothko as interior design, not art).
Have promised dd that we'll do the V&A toy museum (we used to go quite a lot when we were young, Nan lived round the corner), so I've got to pencil in a weekend for that, so not got a lot done really.
Dizzy, wish I'd thought of that title for my blog but that's not my blog [[http://vintagekittykat.blogspot.com/ this one's] mine. TIA

Oh thank you, I've got a comment on it from an American lady! Bit bemused how she came across it, she must have had a really slow day or something

ranting · 14/04/2008 20:46

Dior is yours on the mn blog, have to add it to mine and a few others, don't think I've got Tillys either.

Went to Britain to see the Camden Artists group exhibition this one.
Then we headed over to the Modern (walked up to elephant and got the train to blackfriars, tubes were out for engineering), we spent most of the time on level 5 because we missed that one when we last went and it was mainly cubists, pop art and there was an interesting USSR graphics room which was fascinating.

ranting · 14/04/2008 21:02

I'm going to turn in, if you're still here, night.

Ah, just missed you all, never mind, I am getting used to talking to myself - until bundle and ranting posted I managed 17 posts on my other thread

I have just finished making ds's grobag - yay! It looks pretty good, I am really pleased with it, partic. since I just made it up as I went along! That's my preferred way to sew, I have to say - I am getting nervous about making this suit using a pattern.

I started making dd2's wrap cardi too, but am using the wrong size needles so it may not turn out right! I am going to check the gauge before I go much further I think. Off to bed now.

Ranting - I've added you now

hi all just wanted to say hello from the apparently snowy depths of Idaho. We had a great time in Northern California, and will have another two night there just before flying back on the 28th. I'm on my dad's computer which is dial-up out here in the sticks. Its horrendously slow... I'm campaining for a trip to the local bead shop tommorow morning, As i need to put a new clasp on a bracelet for my mom. any excuse right.

I have made DH take loads of pictures, I cant wait to blog them when we get back from being on vacation. I really miss crafting now that we have stopped at my parents and not just dragging DS around the wine country, the sonoma coast, the Jelly Belly factory etc.. so much to do..

so hi I haven't forgotten you all... and I can still get emails...

Miaou · 15/04/2008 08:44

Oh hi meri! lovely to hear from you, and glad you are enjoying yourself! Hope you get to the bead shop and manage to get some nice bits, even if you don't get any crafting done
