Hasn't she gone for 3 weeks?

vInTaGeVioLeT · 13/04/2008 11:54

dizzy look at your email quick

Tillyboo · 13/04/2008 12:13

Some great suggestions, thanks all !

I think the pirate ships is top of my list then the castle, ooh and the fort and car and truck, so many ideas.

I'm a bit rubbish with boy's ideas ...

I shall look froward to doodling some designs

Nbg · 13/04/2008 13:10

I made some really simple boats with some ribbon to hang them for the craft fair.

Sold them for a £1 and they were quite popular.

Miaou · 13/04/2008 14:46

Three weeks? Blimey, she'll never catch up with all our gossiping!

Still can't find any thread, really frustrating, I will have to wait until tomorrow when the shop is open

However, I have now found the patterns I need for my outfit for my brother's wedding. That's me and the dds sorted. Dh has just ordered a pair of trousers (he is going to find a nice shirt and wear his waistcoat I made him). The dses will be in trousers and a shirt (dd2 wants me to put them in waistcoats but I think that's a bit ott, they are too little and would hate the restriction!

Tried to blog my doll but flickr won't upload my photos for some reason! will try again later.

Ooooh - and I made a card! I don't make cards, ever. I'm just not a cardmaker. But it's for my mum's birthday and she bought me all the bits for cardmaking, so I thought I should do really! I will blog that later too.

Miaou - Jack is gorgeous - if he's have had dark hair I would have thought he was my DS.

I wonder how hard I would have to bend your arm to make me a boy and a girl??

Nbg · 13/04/2008 15:10

he is luuuuush.

Wondering whether to commision you to make a boy for my ds1 or whether I will get you in the swap

Miaou · 13/04/2008 15:41

lolol you two

The "proper" one will have dark hair; this one has blonde hair for dd1 - I always imagine a Jack as having dark hair!

I am currently in the process of cooking a roast dinner (under dh's instruction!) - and dh has just decided that now is a good time to take up the kitchen floor good job I'm a laid back kinda person!!!

TB - no sign of rapunzel yet...she'll be here monday prob.

NBG - I love ravenhill's stuff. Oooh, I hope I get her in the swap

Miaou - Jack's luverly! I love his little pockets!

Nbg · 13/04/2008 15:44

Just wondering whether I should email black apple and prarie mouse and ask them to join

Whizzz · 13/04/2008 15:50

Not done any crafting (again) but did buy a copy of Beads & Beyond & saw a wonderful necklace made with brass flowers & ceramic beads. I decided I had to have it - BUT I have just worked out the cost to buy the various components & its come to £35...which I thought was a bit much as it's not the sort of thing you'd wear everyday.

I do wish magazines that feature projects would give a proper price to make - its easy enough to do if like this one, all the bits & bobs can be bought from the same shop.

Tillyboo · 13/04/2008 18:24

Miaou - I really do think 'Tilly' needs a fella !

GM - Let me know when she arrives safely, she was posted 1st class in the morning so I'm surprised she hasn't reached you. Hope she hasn't been kidnapped ...

I made a little New Baby Gift this morning and managed to finish the logo applique. Will blog later, but that's all I have managed today because ..

I lounged in the bath for ages and ages while dh & dd went swimming, even managed to shave my legs and pummice stone my winter feet - heaven ! And all done in the peace and quiet of an empty house.

Then dd & I went out in my new car to visit a friend, it's only taken 6 months to arrive after a big cock up at the manufacturers. But it was worth the wait, it's luvverly !

Excellent, really good. I didn't realise you'd already had your trip, I remember you saying you were going, what did you do instead, Dior?

The Camden Artists group was really worth seeing (unfortunately it finishes on 5th may) but after seeing that, we went straight to the Modern because that's more ds's thing. He was so excited by the Lichtenstein it was funny. Great day and really nice to spend a bit of time with ds, quite rare nowadays.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 13/04/2008 20:38

glad you had a lovely day ranting it's lovely to get a bit of one to one time isn't it?

Ranting - is your blog "Rantings of a Yarn Junkie"? If it is I've added it

dizzyday07 · 14/04/2008 00:35

I've just looked at my "To Do" list, and it consists of:

  • 3 x Duvet Sets to make
  • Coverlet for a doll
  • 8 x Bibs
  • A string of personalised Bunting
  • 3 x huge pairs of curtains - 1 with tiebacks
  • Voile curtain
  • Little Girl Fleece Bag
  • 2 x Mini Quilt Swaps
  • Doll Swap
  • Functional Felt Swap

Thank goodness DH is in the US this week as it means I can burn the midnight (or 3am oil) without him complaining!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 14/04/2008 07:40

ooohh - dizzy have you got some pictures of the bibs you make? my cousin just had a baby and you can never have too many bibs!!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 14/04/2008 07:41

and it doesn't look like you've enough on!!!

Miaou · 14/04/2008 09:31

Argh dizzy, looks a bit like my list! And having written it all down I have decided I am not going to take part in the Functional Felt swap - I have Too Much To Do:

  • finish making ds2's grobag
  • make jacket and skirt for me for my db's wedding
  • finish felted tea cosy for my mum (whose birthday was yesterday
  • alter dd1's trousers for wedding
  • knit wrap cardigan for dd2 to wear at wedding
  • make doll for nbg's swap
  • make two cushion covers for db's wedding present (I have already decided to leave that until after the wedding rather than rush them)

And those are just my "need to" list, here is my "want to" list!

  • make version two of Jack doll
  • finish dd2's poncho
  • new felting project (a bag, I have a design in mind)
  • "Inspiration" challenge from Meri - have design in head, just need to execute

And - and - dh has asked if I could make him a kilt for the wedding!!!! (though no pressure). I would love to, and I think I have time, but ... we'll see.

Actually that list is quite scary. I have two months until the wedding. EEeek.

VV - I haven't made any yet and these will be for a 6yr old disabled girl who dribbles a lot.

But I do have some baby bib patterns so if I get a chance I'll make a couple up
