It is good Tillyboo, I feel great (if knackered) afterwards. Agree about the guy's shorts - hehehehe! Fortunately ours is an all-woman group led by a great teacher, she is really funny and enthusiastic.

Ireland .... ah, we had our honeymoon there, spent most of it around Killarney then travelled round Ireland for a week. Happy memories

GM, have you mailed me back yet its just I've checked and I havent had one.
No worries if you havent

Tilly, the collage is great. I didnt realise you were doing it for my little MN friend

Whizzz have you got all your stock ready for your fair?
Do you have a whole marquee to yourself?!!!

I'm not doing anything atm apart from a big hanging heart for my friend.
I may re think a design for the dolls and come up with something a little bit different and maybe have a shot at making some clothes.
I'd love to be able to make a doll with a little set of its own clothes in a nice little box.

My minds wandering off with itself now

Tillyboo · 11/04/2008 14:46

Miaou - We spent ages in Killarney National Park. I friend and I went walking in there and got completely lost.
Around every corner looked the same - i.e. another mountain and lake, and we were beginning to panic when we heard whistling.

It was completely surreal because out of the darkenng mist came this little chap on a bicycle whistling a happy tune. I swear he was a large leprachaun or a ghost.

He pointed us in the right direction back to the house and car and we were saved !

It was beautiful, very eery in places and just magical ....

We went to Skye on honeymmon, that had the same feeling too.

Tillyboo · 11/04/2008 14:49

Nbg - He! He! She came across my Easter Swap primrose coloured collage via a link on your blog (I think) and asked if I'd do one for her friends new baby.

GM - Rapunzel is on her way to you 1st class so hopefully she'll arrive tomorrow.

Miaou - going to Blog Tilly in a Mo.

Nbg · 11/04/2008 14:52

I spoke to her today and she said she'd had an email off you or vice versa because she was making you something and the first thing I said was "are you getting one of those Rapunzel towers"

I meant to ask you about them, you know the writing on it, did you embroider that on?
Its so neat!

champs · 11/04/2008 14:54

Hi all!! I am a fraudster to be posting in this thread as I've done a BIG FAT NOthing craft wise (hangs head in shame)

lol @ leprachaun/ghost guide NBG!!

Tillyboo · 11/04/2008 15:26

Miaou - Tilly is now blogged. She is just the most adorable doll !

Nbg - I'd like to say 'Yes' but Nope, I cheated and used stamps.
I'm not sure if my email is playing up as I haven't had many emails today - not even the ones asking me if I want to enlarge my willy !
Did your friend mention that she's seen the collage blogged ? It's just that I haven't heard anything from her today (she probably works though ?) and I'm wondering now in case she doesn't like it ...

Nbg · 11/04/2008 15:28

I'll send her a text tilly

Nbg · 11/04/2008 15:58

Ok craftsters

I have launched my firs swap and it is dolls!

I've stuck with the usual £5 budget and am giving it till a week tomorrow for sign ups.
I've put my email on my blog here if your up for it.

Also if you want to post about it on your own blogs to spread the word, that would be great.
It'll be lovely if we get lots joining in.

Nbg no, not a whole marquee to myself but it's the first fair I've done in a marquee. I've always been a bit put off as people in marquees always seem very professional! I'm going to concentrate more on gemstone stuff but still have my 'Bargain Corner' of the table.

At the moment, I'm gathering together stuff for Ninedragons bracelet (she was on here asking about custom made stuff) - it's looking good - sterling silver, labradorite, iolite & rainbow moonstone + Swarovski crystals. Very opulent !!

Nbg · 11/04/2008 16:12

I was gonna say

Tillyboo · 11/04/2008 16:25

Dior - the bracelet is gorgeous, what a truly beautiful colour.

No probs about the cushion. Thank you for the interest though.
x

Dior - I've had an idea ... will email you

vInTaGeVioLeT · 11/04/2008 18:00

nbg - i am very tempted by your swap but i'm a bit rubbish at sewing and the evil machine is on the blink so any doll i made would no doubt look like Chuckey !!!

Gingermonkey · 11/04/2008 19:21

Nbg - I did, but you can't have got it. I'll email you again in a bit, got to pick ginge to bed. Oh, and I'm in for the swap

Gingermonkey · 11/04/2008 19:22

Nbg · 11/04/2008 19:30

Chrissnow, don't go, this is a chat thread aswell and the nicest corner of MN to boot!

Yes, we've had a rough couple of weeks, first friend (I never want to attend the funeral of someone under 40 again, it was emotional to say the least and her ds is only 9 months older than mine), then a good friend who I used to work with (he had been ill for a few years) and last week my boss from my last job had a massive heart attack at the station while he was on his way to work (that one was unexpected). So although I've been crafting like a madwoman, yesterday was a bit of a downer.

Still, I did the V&A today, warning to anyone going (yes, you Tillyboo), give yourself plenty of time. I spent so long mooching on the ground floor that before I knew it, I'd spent 4 hours there and still hadn't made it upstairs, so I'm going to have to go back to see the textiles and galleries. It was great, really lovely and I really enjoyed it, mind you a bit of sunshine (well it was sunny this morning!)and everyone seems to be in a good mood, the LU chap who served me my travelcard, the chaps on the rail gates, strangers chatting in the V&A, so I think it was just what I needed.

The Tate tomorrow, so am quite excited by that, dd upset that she's not going but ds wants to really look at the art this time and we can't do that with dd, she gets all excited, whereas ds likes to look and contemplate (think it's something to do with the teenage condition).
Nice to see you back (well, for a few days at least)JG and Miaou, thanks, will look into that. And get round to emailing you and of course GM.

Gingermonkey · 11/04/2008 20:42

oh, ranting - I'm so sorry to hear that . How awful.

V&A is amazing, I love it there. And the British Museum, and the Natural History Museum too. DH likes to be in and out of museums, but I could stay in them all day (art galleries I am a zoomer - I see what I like the look of and then I'm off, for tea and cake usually )

Have A FAB DAY!!!!

NBG - emailed. Fingers crossed it gets there......

Nbg · 11/04/2008 20:57

So sorry to hear about that Ranting

ranting · 11/04/2008 20:59

Me and dd did the Natural history museum in the Easter Hols and they've really expanded it since I took ds. The dinosaur section is a lot larger now and has a mechanical T-Rex which roars and moves, dd loved it, she was a bit miffed she couldn't come with me today but I think she's a bit young for the V&A, am sure the way she's going that she will love it in a couple of years though.

ranting · 11/04/2008 21:15

Ah thanks Nbg, taken a look at your challenge, am really tempted but I've got to get my skates on with a few other things, my mums neighbour wants me to make her a couple of flapper style hats aswell. Still I could have a go, hmmm, might motivate me to get the machine out. I might do it, actually. Let me think on it.
