TB - in your WIP posting there is a comment made ny TYGOGAL with a link in it - DON'T CLICK ON IT DELETE THE COMMENT ITS A VIRUS!!

Tillyboo · 09/04/2008 22:40

Dizzy - I thought it was ... how do I delete it ? This is the 2nd time I have had this come up.

Thanks for mentioning it though

dizzyday07 · 09/04/2008 22:45

If you go into the entry from the blog and then go into the comments there should be a little dustbin symbol under each entry. If you click on it it then asks you to confirm if you want to delete.

I've had about half a dozen or so!! I always check the name by googling it.

Hope this makes sense

Tillyboo · 09/04/2008 22:49

Yep, that's great. Thank-you flower !

dizzyday07 · 09/04/2008 22:55

No problem - glad to be of help

Gingermonkey · 10/04/2008 07:49

TB - hehehehehe, I had already decided she was mine from when I first spotted her sad little face. I love her! I sneakily snapped her up as I was going to bed (whilst DH was out of the room and wouldn't see me shopping )

ranting - owl has gone to school with DD, DS is sat on the doormat, crying (proper tears, not just 2 yr old whinging) and wailing 'my owl my owl'. Oh dear. Usually DD will let him have whatever it is he's moaning about, but not this time

chrissnow · 10/04/2008 08:14

GM!! - You got there first!!! Well Tilly you've got mumsnetter's fighting over your stuff . . .
I'll just have to get off my lazy ass and make something pretty for myself.

Gingermonkey · 10/04/2008 09:20

Nbg · 10/04/2008 09:23

Hi everyone
GM you little monkey.
I was going to buy Rapunzel too
I checked on Etsy lasy night about ahlf 7 ish and couldnt see her there so thought that it hadnt been listed!
Ooooh yoooou

Weeeel the craft fair, if you can call it that
There was only myself and 2 others selling handmade things.
The rest of the stalls were all bought items that were mass produced.
Not arts and crafts at all in my mind.

The guy that ran yorkshire craft fairs was horrid.
Very obnoxious, told us we were not to leave before 4pm at all, didnt seem to care that I had 3 children under 4 at home that may have needed me to go home, I was allocated a table, it was very regemented and the guy insited that certain music was played from these CD's he brought and they had to be played in a certain order.

Sooo after it all I sold one doll, a brooch and a hanging decoration and covered just under half of the table cost
Tbh I'm not all that bothered about that but it just wasnt a craft fair to me.

But on a good note, my friend who helped me said that there is a proper craft fair in her village every couple of weeks. A real fair with litle old ladies selling cakes and scones and kids running riot

And on another good note, when I got home I had a lovely little parcel sat waiting for me
Thank you very much ranting. It very pretty.
My mum loves it too
Its now sat in my wardrobe making my clothes smell lurrrvely.

Off to catch up now.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 10/04/2008 09:48

oh dear Nbg - how blardy annoying and after all your hard work too

maybe the moral there is never do a craft fair you haven't checked out first? we have a local one - once a year - and it's really strict my dd's step-mum makes fntastic jewellery etc but she can't sell it there as they won't let two people sell the similar stuff - so it's good as it's not all samey.

chrissnow · 10/04/2008 10:14

Question for knitty ones - Can I unravel something and reknit it? I have a jumper that doesn't fit in my wardrobe and thought I could reuse the wool as its so nice. How would I go about it?

ranting · 10/04/2008 10:18

Gm, I can see that I am going to have to get my skates on with that owl then, ah well, nothing better to do anyway
Chrissnow, yes you can unravel the jumper and re use the wool, is real wool? You have to unravel it, wind it into a skein and then wash it (probably by hand) then hang it up to dry it. Although I have in the past just rolled it into a ball and reknitted it, it'll probably look better if you wash the kinks out of it.

Tillyboo · 10/04/2008 10:57

Well, I am totally blown away by all the lovely comments I have received about Rapunzel.

I've even had another commission for one
Just a thought if anyone is interested, I can adapt the tower/ cottage design to make it suitable for a boys room.
I have been asked if I can come up with something so I just need to get the doodle pad out ...

Sorry you missed out Nbg - but let me know if you'd like me to make you a Rapunzel in the future

Also, sorry your fair wasn't a proper fair - how annoying is that ! They shouldn't be allowed to call it a 'craft' fair in my opinion.

We've all had fairs like that but keep going, I think research is key to finding a good fair.

Miaou - Tilly has arrived and is just BEAUTIFUL ! I shall blog her later. DD was beside herself with excitement. The little shoes and pants are just gorgeous, and that hair !!!!
You are very clever and I think your pattern will be a huge hit. Thank-you so much for making her for me.

Nbg · 10/04/2008 11:34

Thanks everyone.
I agree.
Lots of research needed.

I have just recieved an email from the guy that runs the fairs and has asked for feedback.
I'm afraid I gave him a piece of my mind and was very honest.
I mean if you put someone who has a jewellery franchise on the door of the fair and someone who handmakes theirs at the back, who's going to do better?

Anyhooooo.

Tillyboo I want to see what other designs your going to come up with first
But can you blog them as WIP first so that I can snap it up before GM

ranting · 10/04/2008 11:36

It's good that you let him know, maybe they can improve it, sorry it wasn't good though.
Glad you got your pressie.

Tillyboo · 10/04/2008 11:49

Nbg - Good for you! Well, he did ask eh ?

Yes, I will blog any WIP pieces that will be up for sale. I'll always post here too

Nbg · 10/04/2008 15:40

Still no response
Wonder if I will get one?

GM I emailed you again this morning. Just so you can look out for it.

What should I do with my stock now?
Should I list it on Etsy or save it?

Gingermonkey · 10/04/2008 16:32

Nbg - got it, I'll email you later on (got the mad post school/homework rush at the minute)

hi all - well i've had a lurvely day out with my dd - we went to the cinema and watched the "spiderwick" film it was really really good and then we hit the shops - unfortunately as i've not worked this week i've not earned so i could only afford Primark - yes yes i know it's highly unethical - but i'd promised the girl new clothes and i can very very rarely get her on the bus to town so it was today or never!!!
