Here we go!

I am trying to crochet my fairy but struggling with the arms at the moment. Meri, I have finished my meme, and tagged a few more people, including dizzyday and lucykate

OOOOOh meri your painting arrived!!! It is just gorgeous. The dds and I have tried it in different places in the living room (our room is all neutrals so goes well with the picture). Can't wait to put it up, will let dh have a say over where it goes first though!

Nbg, I felted the jumper on 60, which would have been fine, but I didn't open the washer and check how it was going until the end - I think if I had taken it out periodically and pulled the front from the back it would have been ok. Not sure if I can open my washer mid-wash though.

Ebaying has come to a standstill - I have a negative balance on my paypal account (despite paying money in over a week ago) so can't pay to list stuff - it's 5p listing day today as well grr! Dds are most fed up.

Thats weird because I wash mine at 95 and they've never done that and I cant open my washer cycle to seperate them.

Did you put anything in to aggitate it?

chrissnow · 03/04/2008 15:24

Have made something today!! A necklace from some stones that used to be a bracelet many moons ago until the elastic broke and some beads I had laying around. Also made a card for best friends 2 year birthday. The card is supposed to be almost a child like painting to go with the aeroplane button I found ages ago. Unfortunately I think it just looks like my dd1 (2.6ish!) did it!!! pics on profile - no blog yet.

meridian · 03/04/2008 16:03

thank you i'm very pleased with the bracelet.. and I have two more of the same clasp that i want to save to make necklaces with..... DS jsut woke from a 2 hour nap and dosent know what to do with himself..he is laying with his head on my lap.. bless him... he was better... will let him finish waking up and see how he is in a bit...

Miaou- glad it arrived in one piece.. and that you like it in person or in canvas in any case..

dizzyday07 · 03/04/2008 16:26

Miaou - if you need any PP funds let me know and I'll sent some over so you can get the bears listed - you can pay me back with your profits!!

Miaou · 03/04/2008 17:13

dizzy, would you do that for me? that would be fab!!! I would be able to pay you back almost immediately

OP posts:
dizzyday07 · 03/04/2008 17:28

Of course - its no problem - I've emailed you

Gingermonkey · 03/04/2008 17:29

TB - try googling tutu tutorial - I found one on flickr that was really good, and easy peasy (out of net).

LK - fancy that! Where in Wakey are you going to have to go?....you are most welcome to come round for a cup of tea because where ever it is it will be past my house, as I am off J.38 of the M1, and wakey in general is up a junction or 2. I have the germs already, so I wouldn't get any more, same lurgy has been through our house and is working it's way out again!!! I would even get cake for the occasion .
And what was this my posty brought me this morning??? (been out all day and found it sat on the doorstep) - you little angel, you!!!! Thank you so much. DD has scoffed the chocs (hers - not DS's, his are being saved until he wakes up), and I am busy stroking my balls (oo-er missus!) and the purdy purdy fabric. Mwah mwah - it was most unecessary, but after having a disaster day today (no water, woke up late, supposed to go London, then were going to Manchester, then DH had to go into work - ended up going for lunch just me and the kids), A/C broke in the car - hot air blowing out despite being off, it was a real smiley face maker!!!

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 03/04/2008 17:48

Meri - I love that clasp!

I have made the sum of ONE card today, for h's birthday. I was not overly pleased with it originally, but I spotted it when I walked back in the house after a few hours away and it struck me as nice. I usually do this (not decide on keeping/destroying something, but look at it with fresh eyes after a few hours) as it seems to work.

Whizzz · 03/04/2008 18:15

I've just finished another crochet lariat, this time in white & put it on my blog.

Meri - beautiful bracelets as always

vInTaGeVioLeT · 03/04/2008 18:25

i was wondering about setting up a button shop but i don't know whether to use eBay or etsy? all you ladies with etsy shops is it easy and cheap? and do you think button's would sell well on there?

i've PROMISED myself i will by no more but i want to!!!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 03/04/2008 18:26

buy

vInTaGeVioLeT · 03/04/2008 18:44

i saw some really lovely wool today in the charity shop - i was very good and didn't buy it but it was so tempting as it was a bargain - there were 3 different bags/colours of angora wool there was at least 5 balls in each bag for £3 per bag - bargain no? if only i could knit!!!

Tillyboo · 03/04/2008 18:49

Thanks GM I'll do that - gotta make it tonight although dd & I have been gardening all afternoon and I can barely move now.

DH may just have to wheel me upstairs and plonk me in a hot bath with a whole botelt of muscle bubble bath

Gingermonkey · 03/04/2008 19:30

Get yourself in that bath, TB

VV - HOW MANY???? You are a disgrace, lady I would say an etsy shop coz it's cheaper for fees.

ranting · 03/04/2008 20:57

Miaou, I'd be willing to test drive your pattern for you. Is it is dk? Do you want me to cat you?
GM and Nbg, have nearly done my swap plus a little something for you nbg as way of thanks (yes I do insist). Probably won't post until Monday though, got a lot on this weekend.
Got the start date for my job (May 6th) so want to finish up a lot of my UFOs (will get sewing machine out, will get sewing machine out.) Went to MILs today and she was having a clear out and I came back with armfuls of 4ply wool!! Going to check out my 40s patterns as they use lots of 4ply.

jeangenie · 03/04/2008 21:13

awh GM and there i was thinking of you swanning around London like you owned it! poor you...hope to get to PO to collect parcel tomorrow..yahoo!

Meri - as you know the bracelet arrived and just will not leave my wrist gorgeous. I have emailed you about the other one

Miaou I would love to test drive your pattern but am absolute beginner crocheter so would be no use - sorry

RHW great news about the job (again) did you go for other interview in the end? If Florence et al can't make a date before you start work do you want to just meet up with me some wednesday for trip to iKnit? I am probably going to head there myself as am so nosy about what the new shop will be like and reinforcements always lovely on such occasions...just let me know

I am continuing my "fireworks dog" applique and embroidery "picture" - that embriodery lark is fairly time consuming - I am finding the doodle stitching book quite useful as a reference...although if you are a more experienced embroiderer it might not be so good

I am going to have to rip my lovely forecast cardi as I was reading the pattern wrong (well I maintain was written wrong ) but better to realise now than halfway through...I was only quarter way through...it will be worth it though once I can work up the spirit to rip out all that hard work and start again...

off to make a corsage for DD2's 3rd bday on Sunday (well, I am telling everyone it's on SUnday, is actually on Tuesday but I am being VERY BAD MOTHER and going to Ireland to see my dad on Monday evening and leaving her behind )

ranting · 03/04/2008 21:25

Embroidery. Am suddenly awed in your presence, I have a friend who embroiders and it looks really, really difficult.
Yes I'd be up for that JG, the first month will all be induction and the like, so should be able to make any meetings (barring any arsenal home game of course) up until June.
Got invited to join a local group on ravelry and one of mods of the local group informs me that they have a lunch meet on a Friday not far from where I'll be working so am going to go along, quite excited by that too.

jeangenie · 03/04/2008 21:31

oh but it is so nice RHW...and you can do any pictures you want...well, that's my plan anyway - nothing like starting straight in at the deep end on a quilt top of my own design...anything else would be plain stupid, right?

great - let's agree a date then - I can do most wednesdays after 21st april...so will check on 1st evening they are in shop, they do every 2nd there and in pub...will let you know

ranting · 03/04/2008 21:36

Thank you, am really looking forward to it, my knitting buddy (at dds ballet class) no longer attends, so will be nice to knit and natter with people for a change.

Miaou · 03/04/2008 22:12

I have now blogged my latest creation - am quite pleased with it, it actually looks better on the photos than in real life . I think the name might be familiar to some too ... it just seemed to suit her

Ranting - that would be FAB if you would! If you have a look at my new one you can see what it looks like in 4 ply - if you think that looks too fiddly, you could do it in DK. The idea is that it can translate to any yarn, provided the same yarn is used throughout!

Yes do CAT me and I will email details to you - thank you!

jeangenie - love the look of that book! Really nice. But what a shame about your cardi.

vintage - at the wool - don't think I could have passed that up!

And dizzy - thank you so much for helping me out - have now got 16 bears listed on ebay! Will see how they go. The dds are thrilled with their little business!

Miaou - Tilly is fabulous. Your dolls are just gorgeous !

Is she for sale ? Tilly, my little girl would love her. She's pocket size and would fit in one of her many bags .

Miaou · 03/04/2008 22:24

Oooh Tillyboo I have promised her to dd2, but I could perhaps make another one for Tilly if you would like?

Glad you don't mind me using her name! I did have another name lined up but the doll just didn't suit it, she is definitely a Tilly doll!

OP posts:
Tillyboo · 03/04/2008 22:27

Miaou - Yes please, if you can. No rush, just fit her in when you have the time.

That's very lovely of you, thank-you !
You can get my email from my blog if you need it.
