Oh my, the last thread got full! Hope you all find me. The title is rubbish.

Anyway. I'm off to decorate the thread.

That is CUTE!

Morenicecardigans · 09/11/2024 10:41

That made me smile so thank you!

Ive finally finished my Icelandic jum!per from a kit I bought about 2 years ago! It still needs to be blocked but i'm pleased with it , although the grafting under the arm is really not very good. Its bottom up, in the round. There are 5 colours which are only very subty different , so needed good light to knit in.

My next project is 2 hats in alpaca wool i bought from an Alpaca farm in Pembrokshire where we took some Alpacas for a walk, really lovely day!. I am going to make the same pattern , brown for DH and cream for me. There is something very satisfy about winding the skeins😍

@Bruffin lovely jumper! I need a good project to get my teeth into a kit sounds like a good way forward.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 17/11/2024 10:50

That jumper is GORGEOUS, @bruffin!
I like a big project and am sloooowly working on spinning a kilo of white Shetland and grey Shetland fleece to make a cardigan (eventually!). In the meantime I need small projects to keep me motivated.

I've made one pair of yoga socks and am making another pair for the friend of a colleague. The yoga socks look quite weird until they are on your feet. They are basically a tube with a hole on one side for your heel! I've also just started making some fingerless gloves for myself (Ravelry pic attached).

@bruffin lovely jumper! Absolutely stunning

WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally · 17/11/2024 22:55

@bruffin I love the neckline on that jumper. It’s things like that, that make me want to get quicker at basic knitting so I can do
something like that.

Here are a few things I’ve recently finished. I’m on a bit of mission as I’ve got a lot of gifts, some Christmas some not to get done at the minute. Finished a turtle for someone in a safeguarding role for them to give students when talking, a headband as a thank you gift and just finished an Anne of green gables doll for my MIL.

Morning everyone

Please can anyone advise me on joining some sunburst crochet squares.
First time doing a squares blanket and having done the squares I am now a bit stuck.
I think the easiest joining method for me will be slip stitch but I have watched a few videos this morning and some people go through front stitch on one side and then back stitch on the other side. Others go through both back stitches. Which do you find better?
Thankyou.

Hidingthegoodchocolate · 24/12/2024 12:53

Like @bruffin I have finished an Icelandic kit, intended for last Christmas but just scraping in on time for this one! I made it short sleeved because I'm always too hot so I knew I'd wear it more like that.

@Hidingthegoodchocolate
That pattern is lovely.

Oh that Colin is adorable!

I made both my nieces gloves for Christmas. Made 1 inch bigger than the measurements i was sent for their hands. They were all too small!

I love Colin, he is perfect😍

That's beautiful, @hidingthegoodchocolate ! And Colin is very cute, @heartsinvisiblefury

Happy New Year everybody! One of my New Year's resolutions is to make more time for crafting (and exercise), so hopefully I might pop into the thread a bit more. It's been a bit of a crap few months for me in one way and another, so I need some woolly wellbeing Grin

Current projects are the fingerless gloves (still!) and a Sophie Scarf by the designer PetiteKnits, who seems to be all over Ravelry and Instagram at the moment! It's a super easy knit and I'm making it in (unusually for me) a cheery bright green! It's a little rather continental-looking knot-it-round-your-neck type thing.

I’d like to join you. Think I may have been on a previous version of this thread, or may be even this one?!

I used to knit a lot, but have been out of the habit for a long time. I finally cast on a pair of socks again after Christmas and was amazed by how much I still remember. I’m making mistakes all over the place though. So many dropped stitches and extra stitches that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Hopefully I’ll get the hang of it again before I reach the toes 😂

I’m loving the photos of those knitted jumpers. Knitting goals!

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 12/01/2025 12:54

Hi @SparkleHard ! The series of threads has been going for quite a long time (I started it off, under an old username) but they don't move as quickly as they used to! My Sophie scarf is coming along nicely now, though I frogged it when I was nearly half-way through as I'd kept failing to count properly and had done some of the inceases on the wrong side!

I'm making some fingerless gloves too, which I posted upthread I think. I loooove making socks! That might be a good next project actually, since I'm trying to stick to manageably small things at the moment.

CrochetBug · 18/01/2025 17:16

We had a challenge in a group I'm in to draw, or recreate using another art form, our pet. So i made this little guy.

Cute turtle!

Almondsupreme · 31/03/2025 10:21

I am waiting for my very first delivery of Malabrigo Rios wool! It's meant to be fab. I'm going to knit a baby blanket for a friend with it 😀

Slingsanderrors · 02/04/2025 17:49

@Almondsupreme has it arrived yet? It’s beautiful yarn, fabulous stitch definition,
I knitted an emotional support chicken with it.
Not sure I’d do a baby blanket in it, too expensive! But enjoy x

I've just started the blanket 😁
Yes it's v expensive but it's a present for a good friend and it's kind of a treat for myself too , to knit with such lovely wool!!

@WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally Oh my, that Anne Shirley doll is beautiful! Do you have a pattern for her?
