Oh my, the last thread got full! Hope you all find me. The title is rubbish.

Anyway. I'm off to decorate the thread.

No, @EdithCavell , you don’t.

That yarn forward makes an extra stitch to balance out the one you lose when you do a psso.

You should have the same number of stitches (or loops) on your needle at the start and end of each row.

Ooh they both look lovely @bruffin

I'm making some stash buster crochet granny squares as a break from knitting a complicated sock.

CrochetBug · 12/06/2024 22:47

That bag is very pretty @bruffin

I got into a complete caddy yesterday trying to wind a skein @bruffin 🙄
I don’t know where my Swift winder is so I did it with it around my knees….🤷🏼‍♀️
Here are a few of my efforts over the last year.

Hi @CrochetBug (or anyone else that can help!)
I am a complete beginner at crochet and have a question.

I am practicing treble crochet stitches but my work is coming out arched instead of straight. I am counting my stitches and there’s exactly the same on each row, chain 1, turn. What am I doing wrong?

WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally · 04/07/2024 18:37

@VouisLuitton you've probably done your chain too tight. You can try going up half a size hook for your foundation chain and then sizing down. You can also try doing a chainless foundation in the same size hook, this will be a bit springier and looser.

CrochetBug · 04/07/2024 18:52

Hi @VouisLuitton like JackandSally said your starting chain is probably too tight.
Plus I'd chain 2 or even 3, at the end of the row for a treble. Well actually I don't use turning chains anymore, but when I did I would have.

Ok, that makes sense. I’ve watched the first part of the YouTube tutorial and it looks relatively straight forward. I will watch it properly tomorrow and give it a go. Thanks for your help both of you!

Finished some little chicks that a friend had asked for last week. Slowed by the fact that the dog likes to steal my crochet hook!

Nice to have something simple as under the weather due to COVID right now.

Sorry about the Covid @tizwozliz I hope hope you feel better soon. The chicks are very cute!

GetTheGoodLookingGuy · 10/07/2024 22:44

I made a seahorse! It’s for my friend whose new class is called Seahorses - she thinks she’s drawn the short straw when the other teachers in her year group have Sharks and Dolphins so I made her a seahorse!

I love the seahorse.

NonMiDispiace · 12/08/2024 11:33

My latest crochet throw! It’s Scheepes Chunky Monkey yarn so actually made up quite quickly but I suspect it will stretch over time 🙄😊
I have enough left over to make another.
