I am plodding my way through the Easter swap...and feeling rather low, this flu really isn't helping!!!

BUT then, Mr Postie arrived to cheer me up, well actually it made me cry, but hey ho!!!

My silver lining!

Very quiet on here today!!

Gingermonkey · 28/02/2008 17:34

jeangenie your stuff has gone in the post. It does contain some earrings but I wasn't happy about the quality of the clips (grrrr) so there is an extra something else in there too

Whizzz · 28/02/2008 19:13

I also found this good website for chainmaille too see tutorials I might give it a go!

meridian · 28/02/2008 19:34

Dingle - what a lovely person to have sent you that lovely lot of stuff... I would have been in tears too... its always the little things that get me.. the little reminders that there are real people out there that there is love and kindness to be found.

jeangenie- how are things with you today?

welcome back oh travelling ginger one.. sit down have a cuppa and tell us all about your travels.. how much fabric did you buy?

whizzz- that chainmail site looks intresting... bit complicaited for my little mind to grasp... cain't wait to see what you can do with it...

rantinghousewife · 28/02/2008 19:42

Aha, you're back GM, where did you buy fabric? Was it a good trip (questions, questions.)? I have sent it off, was going to blog it but, am scared you'll look.
Jg how are you?
And Dingle, that was very sweet of that lady.
I am currently knitting Barbie clothes for dd's friend, dd doesn't want any and been charity scavenging and found a shedload of old patterns, including a very interesting Patons and Baldwin baby shawl. Now I just need someone to have a baby and christen it and I might have a go.

Gingermonkey · 28/02/2008 21:06

I didn't buy ANY fabric (but when I eventually get round to blogging my exciting trip you shall understand why I didn't get 2 mins to spare). I also saw Stella McCartney, it's fashion week y'know, she was staying in my hotel (mine - not hers, I'm best ). I had such a great time, and after having to come home and go to the dentist and to sainsburys I feel quite deflated and sad.

hi all, I am ok, thanks all for asking. We just need to wait now and see how dad does at his next stress test I think. I am managing somehow not to worry too much about it...not sure how, but somehow

Whizz - thanks for the update. Very excited now. Am still feeling totally crappola that I haven't done yours yet...this weekend it is my no 1 priority.

Dingle - beautiful, kind parcel. Sounds like things are tough at the moment, hope you are managing to get some downtime to recover. My girls fight like that too, they could fight over who puts a hair on the gloor into the bin...it could go on for hours too. I wouldn't mind (keeps them occupied after all ) apart from the screaming that goes with it...that I cannot stand

Meridian - Brilliant, well done. I love that bracelet...(well, you know I love all your stuff)

GM - glad you had fun, sounds amazing! Will email you shortly (am at work so obviously can't just chatter all day)

Dior - that's great - it's always so nice to get a compliment, especially from someone who knows what they are talking about!

RHW - hello, haven't forgotten about southern meetup, we must start thinking about it again in earnest. Laughing at you and your barbie doll clothes...one of the first things I crocheted was a pair of bright orange trousers for DD1/DH's action man. Oh how we laughed

I have been asked by some randon stranger in the US to allow him to interview me for a digital radio station, he found my blog and thinks it looks really interesting. How bizarre...

ok, back to work.

Have a lovely day everyone...

jeangenie · 29/02/2008 09:01

vintageV - I think it was you who left a comment on my blog about the jelly moulds and not being able to get the jelly out (was it?)...if so, run them under hot water and it'll pop right out...and I have a tortoise too - gorgeous aren't they?

Nbg · 29/02/2008 12:55

Finally I get to the internet!

Meri well done on the beadage site! I have that in my favourites. Its a fab website.
I love the earrings and brooch too.

GM, of your trip. Was it a grown up trip or family trip?

Whizzz that website gave me headache Have you had a go at it yet?

Dior congratulations on world dominance

JG hope your dads ok

I've done absolutely no crafting at all. Yesterday we had to go down to my PIL's for the day (was in your neck of the woods GM too) and we didnt get home till late last night.
Ds1 is going through a bizarre phase too atm and its restrciting me to when I can craft. So far this week he has done the following; Monday eaten a handful of sudocrem, tuesday epiderm, wednesday glue and yesterday Orchid plant food.
The boy is constant!

Are there anymore thoughts on the next swap? I usyt have a look at the blog.

lucykate · 29/02/2008 12:56

hello everyone, not been around much, have 2 christening presents to make for a friend for sunday, plus we have visitors this weekend. i will be sat, this evening, blanket stitching 2 mini fleece cushions together in front of the telly and eating chocolate!

gm, can't wait to see your blog post for paris, sounds intriguing!

do you think we should add the mn crafters blog to the uk craft blog list?, i've noticed some of you have the union jack icon on your blogs!

it's getting, on average, 37 hits a day, which isn't bad for a newish blog (although, how many of that 37 is just us )

Gingermonkey · 29/02/2008 13:39

hello LK! If DH would email me the pics I could blog paris

NBG - just grown ups. Oh I can't wait now - it was to visit the Louis Vuitton studio to see how things are made. It was a PROPER posh trip with fanciness galore (I was like a small child the whole time).

OP posts:
Nbg · 29/02/2008 13:46

Oh
My
God

GM

How on earth did you manage to do something like that?!!

LK, add the blog add the blog

meridian · 29/02/2008 13:51

I had an idea for doing the next swap if anyone was intrested.. I thought something like a "Vintage" swap.. using vintage type fabric or patterns.. painting in sorta vintage colours..style.. jewellery in vintage colours/styles...

so you would make your item or items and it be 1950's Americana... art deco..60's, 70s... something along those lines?

maybe a bit more of a broad concept than an idea...

Gingermonkey · 29/02/2008 14:03

nbg - I know, all a bit too exciting for me really. I shouldn't really have got invited, there are people out there that are more deserving than me, but I know the manager in Leeds quite well and I do buy a bit of it (well, DH does - he has a bit of an obsession with bags, for me). The manager said that he knew we'd be so excited about it all and that was why he chose us (and the other couple from Leeds were similar to us too). When DH comes home I'll get the pics and blog it tonight. I've never been in a studio like that before and it was amazing. I think the main thing is they know they've snared us for life now....one day I'll get my greasy paws on a trunk, one day!!! (dreams about the lottery)

Swooooooooooooooooooon

I have a LV bag that dh bought me for Valentines day 5 years ago but the handles have started to rip on the outside so one of these days they're going to fall off
I cant see how it can be repaired either. Double

Can someone tell me how to add something to a blog?
I'm wanting to add one of those clocks and the union jack crafters things to it but it wont let me do it.
I've put it in the HTML secton in layout but its not playing

Meri I like that idea for the swap. Maybe this could be an ongoing theme so say this swap could be 1940's themed and then the next 1950's etc?
