lucykate · 21/02/2008 09:12

yay, we've filled a thread already this year

meridian · 21/02/2008 09:14

LOL hello new thread..

lucykate · 21/02/2008 09:16

am still playing around with changes to my blog layout, not 100% happy with it yet, but it's been fun learning how it all works!

just about to take ds & dd out to a play/crafty session at the village hall, but have to get some bits and bobs together this afternoon as i'm doing a talk in stamford later to the embroiderers guild, last time i did one of these i was pg with ds, and he's nearly 3 now

Tillyboo · 21/02/2008 09:48

Good job someone is on the ball eh GM ?

We seem to have taken over the A&C section somewhat, Oops !

Gingermonkey · 21/02/2008 10:22

LK - good luck with the talk, I'm nervous for you! (Stamford is lovely)

OP posts:
meridian · 21/02/2008 10:29

good luck with the talk LK...

have just spent over an hour or two messing about looking at beads.. getting distracted by other things on etsy but finally got two orders in with the money from my last sale. with a balance left over of £7 ... must go find ways of keeping DS busy as he is board with me being on the computer all morning..

vInTaGeVioLeT · 21/02/2008 12:47

goodluck lucykate - that is my idea of hell - i'm a bit nervous like that
the worse thing i have to do is doing a b/feeding talk for ante-natal classes - i'm always soooo glad when it's finished!

lucykate · 21/02/2008 13:28

just back from play session followed by a quick trip to dunelm in grantham for some fleece fabric and cushion pads. also got some pink fabrics to make a princess/fairy version of the draw string playmat/toy bag for dd.

Tillyboo · 21/02/2008 14:30

Hand Up ...

Please Miss I've "Finished' ...

Fubsy, if I can drag myself the the Post Office today I'll post the Easter Swap to you.

I hope you like it, I'm a bit nevous.

What's the rule, do we wait until the recipient receives the swap or do we post on the blog first ?

I'm off to find some bubble wrap ... now there's a clue
x

Nbg · 21/02/2008 14:51

Oooh Dunelm, I lurrrrve that shop.
Dh physically shakes when we go anywhere near one of them

Bit of a quick and selfish post from me but could everyone just have a look at the new doll I made here
I decided to do it for a little girl whose party it is on Saturday.

I couldnt decide if it was a bit pants of me to do something like that and if it looked good enough.

I'm not looking for lots of ego feeding just honest answers because I have to stand at the school gates with the other mums who'll be at that party.
Dont want to be getting funny looks now

Tillyboo · 21/02/2008 14:53

I think there will be one very happy little girl when she receives this !

Lovely colours.

meridian · 21/02/2008 14:56

nbg- love the doll.. very cool fabric.. DS says "Aww how sweet. I love it." when I showed him what I was looking at... he is a very good critic..

I have done sod all today.. have one of those nigling colds that isn't really bad but jsut makes you feel a bit tired and crap...

laundrylover · 21/02/2008 15:12

Meridian you inadvertently killed the March 06 thread as apparently threads run out of space at 1001 posts! Here is the new one March 06 for you....sorry to invade!

Gingermonkey · 21/02/2008 16:21

Nbg - she's cute!!!
TB - I want to see it, blog it and tell fubsy she can't look , ha ha!!!

RH - yours will be in the post on monday...poorly finger permitting

Whizzz · 21/02/2008 17:55

Hello all I haven't done any crafting since my marathon session last week, but hopefully I will have some time Fri & Sat before the craft fair on Sunday to get my act together!

Dingle · 21/02/2008 19:34

Sorry, posted this on the old thread after reading instead of putting it here!!!

Nbg, would you let me know what wording you want on the front of cards please - just basic "Happy Mother's Day" or names as well? They are sitting here on my desk in pieces looking very sorry for themselves!

My new stamps arrived today....hubby is going to watch footy so I am going to play with my new toys!!

rantinghousewife · 21/02/2008 19:38

Gm, I haven't got to spill MY blood to get yours done have I?
I am getting on with it but, got to get some stuffing (nope not a soft toy). And there is another part to finish after that. Definitely get done and sent off before your birthday

Tillyboo · 21/02/2008 19:59

*ALERT ... FUBSY DON'T GO ON MY BLOG UNLESS YOU CAN'T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW

For you impatient lot, including my mum

I've posted my Easter Swap.

Be kind, it's something new for me

I'm sure Fubsy will post on the Mumsnet Craft Blog too.

Nbg · 21/02/2008 20:06

Oh wow Tilly, that is fab!
You've captured easter brilliantly.

Dingle, I'm sorry I havent emailed you. Just basic happy mothers day will be fine and I'll email you names for the notebooks.
In fact I'll go do it now.

Meri, I'm glad your ds liked it.

And thanks everyone for the comments.
I can't seem to shake off the thought that it might seem a bit of pathetic present and I'll get laughed at

God I am pathetic!

rantinghousewife · 21/02/2008 20:09

Nbg, your doll is lovely, I really like the gorgeous colours. And Tillyboo, that is lovely too, did you stitch those appliques.

Tillyboo · 21/02/2008 20:11

Thankyou Nbg !

Don't worry about how your presi will be received - you have absolutely nothing to be worried about except maybe having loads of orders to fulfill after the other mums see her

Nbg · 21/02/2008 20:36

Well that would be nice although I need to make lots more for the craft fair. I'd be staying up all hours to get things done.

I'm just enjoying making them atm.
I suffered with PND after dd and ds1 and I wasnt over it when I fell pregnant with ds2, so really I was expecting a bit of a crash so to speak when I had ds2 but amazingly I haven't and I honestly think getting back into craft again has helped alot.
Its keeping me busy and focused on other things.
I love it

Ok sob story over.

Nbg · 21/02/2008 20:38

Can I just point out that when I'm putting a new post onto my blog its putting them onto the mn one too.
Why is that?

rantinghousewife · 21/02/2008 20:38

Actually Nbg, I do think that crafting does help alleviate depression, I'm convinced of it. Wonder if anybody has ever done a study on the theraputic benefits of crafting?

Gingermonkey · 21/02/2008 20:39

tb - fab fab fab!!!

Ranting - whip, crack - heeheehee
