Hello madcrafter - lurk away!!! Sounds like you have your hands full with your house full . We try and pretend this is a thread where we set ourselves challenges and then comlete them in a week...but actually we just sit and chat, and occasionally go 'oh, look - I made something!!!'

For example...this evening I made a monkey for my friend's son in Texas (he saw a WIP monkey on flickr and said he wanted it - but it was a girl and he's a boy, so I said I'd make him a boy one instead that he'll be able to see tomorrow when he wakes up) and I sewed up the legs and finished off a pirate girl, 2 astronaughty girls oh, and the other girl monkey. Plus I made a covered notebook for DD (who is still poorly) and poked about in the cupboard trying to get my heart into making those flipping lavender hearts. I'll blog/show pics tomorrow - now I'm off to bed.

LOL, welcome madcrafter!!

Champs · 27/03/2008 00:36

Gingermonkey · 27/03/2008 07:01

Dior- I think you might need to change the name of your blog seeing as there is a lot of beautiful jewellery on there but not alot of cards recently

I'm going to take apart a bracelet or two and try to rework them today, maybe try to do some earrings if DS dosen't "help" me..
and finish the practice felt flower i'm "sewing".

I definitly have delusions aspirations above my crafting abilities.

meridian · 27/03/2008 07:42

Madcrafter- hello there! lurk away but everyone is very helpful and friendly, and also a little bit mad, so i'm sure you will fit right in.

sometimes we write lists on here of what we plan to make this week... though i don't think anyone has done that this week.

welcome aboard!

Nbg · 27/03/2008 08:11

VV, dont get me started on Lost.
Can you believe where it ended on Sunday!!!
Tis outrage.
Will let you know about the Buttons.

Welcome Madcrafter.
Looking forward to seeing your blog.

I emailed The Vintage Magpie last night and asked if she would make me one of her bunnies for dd, ahem /me
I have fallen in love with them. They are gorgeous!
Anyway she has replied and said she will do it.
I'm so excited!

Dont think I'll get much done again today.
Dh was on nights last night so he'll be in bed till lunch and I have the job of keeping 3 children under 4 quiet
Then I've got 2 new toy boxes being delivered so I have to sort out all the plastic junk (dreaded job).

Miaou · 27/03/2008 08:18

Oh just had a look at those bunnies - they are gorgeous!

Meri I am on with my meme, but it is proving very difficult to fill in some of the bits

My plan today is to make my amigurumi fairy, in amongst all the other bits and pieces I need to do (open bank accounts for the kids, do our accounts ). I ordered some little eyes last night to finish it off properly.

I really want to get on with my felting project but I'm going to do this fairy first I think.

Then I need to make a card for my friend's dd, with the bits I've got. Eeek ...

I shouldn't really be on here!

(Welcome madcrafter - I have four children too btw!)

vInTaGeVioLeT · 27/03/2008 08:45

well NBG - i haven't watched any of this series of lost as we don't have sky so no giving away the storyline please!!

my dp works night too and i'm a c/minder and regularly have to keep a bunch of littlies quite when he's in bed - it's a nightmare as they forget to be quiet every 5 minutes we do a lot of playgroups!!! luckilly he does a 5 week rotation of different shifts so only 2 sets of nights in 5 weeks.

i'm nearly finished on my vintage swap now - having you speedy crafters to keep up with is definately a help!

Nbg · 27/03/2008 08:51

You havent seen any Lost!

Dear lord. How on earth do you cope?

I think its back in a few weeks.
They stopped because of the blinking writers strikes.

And how do you childmind with a dh who does nights!
Its nice when dh does them because he's at home in the day but when he's in bed its a nightmare.
I dont take the kids to a playgroup because dd is too old for it and ds1 would hate it.
He's so clingy and such a mummys boy
You do really well to manage that one.

chrissnow · 27/03/2008 08:58

I childmind (well my own 2!! and at the moment it seems like work!) and I work nights. However, if DH has a late night/poorly in bed I have to keep the kids quiet and it is the hardest thing in the world (partly 'cus I get an overwhelming urge to 'forget' and make a really loud noise )
Today I am going to master knitting. yes I am. really.

chrissnow · 27/03/2008 08:59

btw. I think proper real life childminders actually need medals. I could not do it! Especially quietly

Nbg · 27/03/2008 09:08

I still can't master knitting.
No matter how hard I try.

In fact last time I tried, I couldnt even cast on properly.

meridian · 27/03/2008 09:10

ok here is a picture of my latest attempt to sew. here bit wonky but its getting there. i really must go get some cleaning done the house is a tip... well i really just want to get my paints out and beads and do some crafting...

meridian · 27/03/2008 09:24

oh and tommorow I will post a new challenge on the mncrafters blog! I have been most neglectful of writting up a new one..

chrissnow · 27/03/2008 09:30

I've done a row!! I've done a whole row. All by myself (well kind of video jug helped)....but the important thing is.

I. Have. knitted. a. row.

WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO

lucykate · 27/03/2008 09:31

nbg, i can't believe lost has stopped for a few weeks, i was really into this series, when am i going to do my ironing now?? (i only iron when lost is on as it's the only thing i watch on telly!)

there hasn't been nearly enough sawyer in this series so far either

lucykate · 27/03/2008 09:32

good grief, 30 more posts and we've filled another thread!

Nbg · 27/03/2008 09:41

I know LK.
I nearly cried and on such a cliffhanger too!

Who do you think was shooting?

Promise not to say anymore VV

Well done Chrissnow!

Meri, thats very neat stiching!

chrissnow · 27/03/2008 09:52

Now on row 4. Not very straight. but this is just practice!!! God it's addictive tho.

meridian · 27/03/2008 10:37

nbg- not so sure about that...but it dosent look too bad.

chrissnow- its addictive..knitting.. I cant do patterns to save my life but I do like to knit simple little bits.. while watching tv or a movie... as the simple stuff you don't need to pay that much attention to.

am trying to tydy the house with DS.. have pulled stuff out of one cuboard and put it into a box.. its not going well so we are bailing and going to the library instead...then to get some more plastic storage boxes and shove stuff up into the newly acessable attic... oh and have booked to get a manicure and pedicure tommorow am my mothersday gift was a voucher and i will use it!

meridian · 27/03/2008 10:39

LK- we only watched the first season of lost.. then we were in the US when the second seson started so we missed several episodes... DH is on about getting the boxed sets then trading them in to get credit to get the next in series... only thing is we just watched the first seson of 24 and there are 5 more i think... I don't know when he plans to watch all these shows.

err oops

I guess that gets us closer to a new thread.

lucykate · 27/03/2008 10:52

nbg, i reckon the shooters are others from the boat, if the boat has been sent by whitmore, he's not daft, if they want ben that much, they'll have dropped a counter attack on the other side of the island (remember, the helicopter was missing from the boat, sayid asked where it was and the captain said that frank, the pilot had gone on a 'errand')
