dh grew up in a little village called langham just outside of colchester, he knows that area well.

miaou, talking of the kits i used to design, i've just posted a couple of stumpwork card kits on my blog to giveaway, i've got loads of them lying around, need to clear some space. and hey, the wedding shop sounds like an excellent source of work!

jeangenie · 26/03/2008 12:26

oh, well if you are coming down here I'll stay put then GM just think of the mischief we could create tell that DH of yours that I am waiting around and could he please hurry up...

anyone who hasn't been - go to Suffolk - it rocks! (in a country bumpkin meets the fisherperson kind of way - the best!)

I am sposed to be working so you haven't seen me and I haven't just cut out felted jumpers for a corsage, right? [looks left, looks right, looks shifty]

right, I'm back now. I don't know whether I'd be any good at stumpwork, but I'd like to give it a go!

So - LK - how is the shop planning going? RicRac's shop is just too lovely. I think I'm going to be extra poor by too long with you and her opening shops

my main problem with etsy atm is my credit card has expired, and because i haven't used it for years, i didn't get sent a new one, so i have no credit card, and need one to go on my account. so, at the same time as sorting that out, also need to photograph everything properly.

have been internet shopping today, have ordered a wee wonderfuls pattern book, a sewing stars elephant kit, £30 of embroidery threads, pearl cotton 8's and 12's, and still need to order an alphabet rubber stamping set.

am having a lazy day though, we're off out for lunch shortly

jeangenie · 26/03/2008 12:57

ooh I need some alphabet stamps - where do you get those?

LK do you ever NOT go out for lunch?

ricrac's shop is indeed very lovely, as will LK's be...drums fingers on table

miaou - great news abour shop order - well done

Miaou · 26/03/2008 12:59

Oooh just put a comment on your blog LK, always up for a giveaway! I love stumpwork but have never tried it - that will be another first for me then!

at all the purchases and lunch out though!

dizzyday your bunny is gorgeous! I wish I had known about that swap, looks great fun! I have loads of bunny patterns too, I just love them so much I seem to collect them . I shall keep my eye on lucylocket's blog to see the next one.

When my mum came up at the weekend she brought up a load of cardmaking stuff. I have never made cards (well, not like you lot make them) and I'm a bit stumped as to what to do next! Might post a pic of what I've got at some point and get your thoughts ...

lucykate · 26/03/2008 13:06

jg, no!

it's been a busy weekend, dh is off work atm, well off lecturing but still painting portraits madly, and after recent events, and spending most of the weekend a bit hacked off, i think we deserve it!

i'm thinking of getting this set, i've looked at loads, and although this is meant for kids, it's good as it has both upper and lower case letters in the same box.

jeangenie · 26/03/2008 13:30

have a lovely time

that alpha set does look good - I've been searching a while too and they all look a bit too fancy whereas that is nice and plain...

meridian · 26/03/2008 13:57

Gingermonkey · 26/03/2008 14:10

lol at LK going out for another lunch . I have just had a thought - my credit card has expired too. Bugger. Suppose I had better put DH's onto my etsy account.

Well done miaou - that's fab news!

oh i'm frightened of debt - so i haven't got a credit card - i use dp's for my paypal purchases but it means he always knows how much i've spent per month

i got my first ever parcel from etsy today all the way from america i was hyper excited!!! [it's only trimmings but hey that excites me!!!] the shop was called "vintage fern" and the seller was very sweet and gave me freebies i was surpised how cheap the postage was from america - not really anymore than uk.

chrissnow · 26/03/2008 14:54

I'm back from my 'thrift spree'!! I've been a bit crap really. Couldn't find much good stuff today which was annoying. A few necklaces I could have stolen beads from, but they were twice as much as buying beads I've ended up buying some really cute dungarees for dd2 (which happen to have a lovely embellishment on the leg which will be cut off and re-used when (if!!) she grows out of them (she's teeny tiny and never seems to grow!) A Buffy the vampire slayer box set (oops not crafty either and likely to stop me from crafting) another book, a really cool jigsaw for dd1. and . . . . . actual craft related find ............. knitting needles and some really funky but chunky wool.......

erm I can't knit .
Oh and GM - Essex rocks. I'm so glad I moved down here. And we will go to Suffolk soon (I have told DH!!)

vInTaGeVioLeT · 26/03/2008 15:10

at chrissnow buying knitting supplies and not being a knitter!!!

i did the same last week - i loved the colour of some knitting needles and bought some horrible nylon wool 'cause i like the retro label l o l !!

chrissnow · 26/03/2008 15:23

I bought a book to teach me how to knit yonks ago. Will dig it out. It really is lovely wool . . .

meridian · 26/03/2008 16:11

attempting to sew another felt flower brooch... its going ok... but time to stop now as I have to go make DH is birthday apple pie... well its apple brown betty .. its like a cinnamon crumble top... very nice its what he asked for very odd he normally wants chocolate

then will take apart and scavange some bracelets in my rejects bag to make some new things out of them with the new toggles i got from etsy

Whizzz · 26/03/2008 16:20

Well I've just gone Grr as I swapped some card making bits for beads on another forum. Posted the stuff off & now the other person has offered me jewellery rather than beads. How can I say no without sounding ungrateful? The stuff is nice, but I can make it myself I did say that I aws swapping stuff for beads

dior, dh is 38, they moved away from langham in around 1981, but as his dad stayed in the area, he continued to visit there every year.

well, been for lunch!, the thing is, on weds, we're child free, dh insists we spend 'quality' time together, it's either lunch or you know what , lunch is the lesser of the two evils! plus i got to go to the charity shops

LOL...well I have been to Dukes once or twice myself. When I worked in London, one of my friends lived in Chelmsford and we would all go up and crash at her house every now and then!!! But that was many moons ago!!!

Had a fun day today, Mr Postie arrived with my Easter swap, and some new craft goodies to play with. Thought it rude not to try them out so this afternoon I made dillydallydingle.blogspot.com/this

I am busy mounting another stamp now so I can quickly stamps some images and sit down later on water colouring as I watch The Apprentice!

Dingle · 26/03/2008 17:38

Oh blogger!!!! This

Whizzz · 26/03/2008 17:42

someone advise me on my swap dilemma.....what do I do ?

Dingle · 26/03/2008 17:46

Whizzz- I would say that sorry to a pain but you would prefer to have the beads as agreed!!
