gingermonkey - pity you're not a 12/14

Gingermonkey · 18/03/2008 19:15

VV - I could get PG, then I would be

jg- you will be famous with all these interviews... I have left a comment but forgot to say what makes my heart sing... must go now as DH glaring at me and muttering so must go whimper about craps and guilt him into making me cheese on toast.

Tillyboo · 18/03/2008 19:40

GM - I can't open the pic ...

I was a size 10 once .... when I was about 12 !

I need jeans with back pockets on as I have what is commonly known in our family as a 'Pancake Bum' i.e. my bum is as flat as a pancake.

I have no hips either so getting nice jeans is a sodding nightmare. After about an hour the backside in my jeans is somewhere around the back of my knees .. most attractive, NOT.

Anyway, enough, I'm feeling depressed. I have been a very, very busy bee and blooged some new items.

Geared more toward the adult market and not a bunny in sight.

meridian · 18/03/2008 19:47

tilly--- lovely stuff have jsut left you a comment! I]m sure you will get loads of lovely comments though because your stuff is great.

off to have cheese on toast and watch sky+ and early to bed...

Tillyboo · 18/03/2008 20:16

Hi Meridian - Thankyou. The little houses are my fav too and I can't wait to make a whole street !

I'm still waiting for the wheat and lavender delivery, they are being a bit slow ...

rantinghousewife · 18/03/2008 20:29

Ha, you got me all excited there GM, thought we were going to get a look at your divine form there!!
JG, left you a message, and if you've got a crochet tea cosy pattern.... .
Feeling hopeful for the job, dh spoke to one of the interviewing cohorts today and he said I apparently had a 'good' interview, so as the starting date is in May, I'm going to try and cram in as much crafting as poss between now and then. (Of course, I'm thinking the 40 minute commute will provide boredom relieving crafting opportunities en route).

Dior · 18/03/2008 21:01

Message withdrawn

Gingermonkey · 18/03/2008 21:05

ranting - there's a pic of me on my blog today. But I think you will agree, that whippet in a coat is a far more beautiful sight .
SO - you're lumbered with me again, eh? What the lordy am I going to make for this swap? (poor brain whirrs into action)

TB - when you said ADULT market, I was a little worried...phew, it was just my dirty mind working overtime and actually not anything of the applique dildo variety after all . Fab new things - now, if they don't sell I'll eat my hat

Meri - I want cheese on toast now you've mentioned it. Yum!

OP posts:
Tillyboo · 18/03/2008 21:23

An applique Dildo .... now there's a thought. Put's a whole new perspective on a Willy Warmer eh ?

jeangenie · 18/03/2008 21:44

not so sure they'd sell on etsy though TB...maybe worth a try?!

thanks for all the great comments today laydees...I have really enjoyed reading all that mush ...I am such a mega softie underneath my ultratough and cynical exterior

I have just been round to a friend who is heading back to the states for a couple of weeks and has given me all her beading tools and some supplies to play with while she is gone... like I need another crafting hobby...

hope the news on the job comes soon and is good ranting

Gingermonkey · 18/03/2008 21:56

ooh, yes ranting - good luck with the job - I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you

JG - shall I pay you now for your Erin O Conner comment? . You charmer, you

OP posts:
vInTaGeVioLeT · 18/03/2008 22:04

ginger are you likely to get PG?
having seen your picture on blog - i find it unlikely you'd be into wearing what i "thrifted" - you look way too cool!!!

but maybe it'd make fab toys/gorgeous things - infact i'm quite fancying one of your dolls with dangly arms and legs

Gingermonkey · 18/03/2008 22:29

VV - if I get my way I'll be PG at least another 2 times (convincing DH is more difficult...maybe NBG can come for a visit with the little one, that'll make him broody ). And I am not cool, I am a proper geek!!! But thank you for saying I'm cool - I'm getting far too many compliments today from the lovely internet folks - keep 'em coming, heeheehee, I need them - I have a huge spot on my chin that my friend pointed out earlier (cheers, Sash) and DH also pointed out I was looking more than a little deathly pale (he said 'I know you're cultivating this pale thing, but you look a bit poorly' Charming!)

I did some thrifting at the weekend - my nan has gone into a nursing home, so I have nabbed as much of her stuff as possible to save it going to the charity shop to be bought by someone like one of us lot . DH was rolling his eyes when I was bringing in bags of old curtains, embroidered things (what they are I have no idea), a tea set (that I think may actually be worth a few quid, not that I'd sell it, I shall use it to drink tea out of) and a chair that needs restringing or something - the woven seat has a hole in it. Oh, and a big tall boy for my towels and bedlinen. My mum brought a couple of boxes of bits up a few weeks ago - so I am a bit over run now, but it's my nan's stuff and is very precious!!! (I'd have her house too if I could only convince DH to buy it for me and move to Ipswich...no chance of that happening though!!!) I get all homesick when I go back home (see, it's still home despite me living up North for the past 15 years!)

OP posts:
jeangenie · 19/03/2008 08:46

yes, pay me now GM please, I take paypal and random postal gifts - you can use your amazing powers on yourself no really I AM joking

oooh I am dead envious of you maybe having two more babies...I visited my friend with the new baby yesterday, I very nearly started to cry...(very embarrassing!)...she was over the moon with the kimono and hat, I KNEW she'd be a good handmade gift recipient as whenevr she comes round for a cup of tea she asks all about the various bits of random crafted tat strewing my home

anyway, nothing much to report from me...I am suffering with a very tight back at the moment (too much bus knitting, blogging, computer use perchance - NAH...couldn't be) so am hoping to get physio appointment soon...

planning some easter crafting with kiddos on Friday - anyone got any good ideas or links?

we are off "to the country" then on Saturday which am mega looking forward to

what are the rest of you up to over Easter?

jeangenie · 19/03/2008 08:47

oh GM meant to say all that stuff you got from your nans sounds fab- thank god you managed to save it from the likes of us hope she is doing ok in the nursing home

Nbg · 19/03/2008 09:35

Tilly I absolutely adore your new hanging decorations.
They are amazing. I love them.
I left a comment on your blog too.

GM, oh you in your posh magazine shoot house with your posh shiny shoes and your posh shiny drawers
I'm considering having my hair cut like yours. Its short atm and spiky at the back but I rather like the look you've got going on with yours.
And with regards to baby, I shall pack him up now and send him special delivery.
He's stopped sleeping through atm so your welcome to have him.
But only until he sleeps through again
He smiles all the time and has just started laughing for no apparent reason so I'm sure he could make your dh broody.
Oh and just while I'm thinking I would like to order a Merrylegs soon for a friends baby.
Shes due on the 11th April and they dont know what they're having so I was thinking a nice mixture of neutral colours?
I was thinking if I could order it at the start of next month. Is that ok?

JG I pointed an old mn friend in your blog direction yesterday.
I think she left you a comment.
She has a thing about hearts and her dd's bedroom is covered in them so I told her about your little giveaway yesterday.

Shes also commisioned me to make a big hanging heart for her dd too which I'm really pleased about.
I got started yesterday on it and pinned the front section together as its all made out of different materials.
It looks quite nice I have to say.

I also got my japenese fabric from Nuno yesterday too and its luuuuuuuussssssh
Problem is, I dont want to cut it up now lol.

Nbg · 19/03/2008 09:41

Oh GM I thought you were a Yorkshire girl!

Its funny because I'm from York and I always get homesick whenever I go to visit even thugh we're not all that far away but when we visit your neck of the woods I get homesick there too

Your nans stash sounds cool.
My nan gave me an old tea set last year. Its like a proper old vintage set with pink roses on.
It makes me want to have a cuppa in it and stick my little finger out while drinking

And speaking of new things I forgot to mention this but my dad found a very old Singer sewing table. You know the ones with a tredle and wheel on them.
The woods been taken on the top so its just the frame but he's giving it to me
I'm so excited. Dh has got a nice piece of wood to go on top and hopefully I'll be able to use it as my new workstation
I should be getting it tomorrow.

Dingle · 19/03/2008 10:15

LOL at you lot and adult goods, posh shoes and whippets!!! What are you like!!

Life in the Dingle house is as hectic as usual, I am supposed to be studying, I am supposed to be doing my second craft fair, but I just can't really get "into" anything ATM!

I have made a few cards recently, and today I posted some knitted cows on my blog....haven't a clue wht to do with them but thought they were fun!!

I am waiting to posts pics of the Easter swap, but haven't heard from Champs..Champs cooeee...are you around, are you OK?

lucykate · 19/03/2008 10:17

hello everyone, gm, i know what you mean abut referring to somewhere else as 'home', we live in the midlands now, but home will always be the north west.

right, back to sewing, it's my child free day, although the big kid (dh) is also working from home today, so i may be dragged away for lunch!

Gingermonkey · 19/03/2008 10:23

NBG - do it - get short hair!!!, I love having short hair (because I look ridiculous with longer hair and because it's so easy to do in the morning - I am very lazy with hair and things). I copied Agyness Deyn's hair (but not blonde - can't do blonde, I'd look like a corpse). Those shiny drawers do look very posh, don't they? But they were from Next, so not posh at all. I wanted some from Laura Ashley but they were a bit big to fit in the gap between hanging rails in the dressing room (get me - flash git!) and then I found the next ones - which were so much cheaper (and came really quickly, not like Laura Ashley which aims to deliver your furniture in 23 years time ). One of the local MNers came round to mine and apparently it inspired her to tidy up her house, because it's so fancy posh (I don't think it is, but I do have a thing for fancy wallpaper and huge gilt frames - which makes it look fancier than it is). I keep saying I'll blog the favourite bits of my house, but DH says that's being too 'hey, look at my things'. So maybe I won't...I don't know. I like to have a look round peoples houses though, I'm very nosy.
I would love to make you a merrylegs - just let me know what you want. It'll make a lovely change from the frigging bunting I'm doing at the moment. I hate bunting, I have decided it makes me very grumpy. I haven't even started on the hearts - but they'll make me extra grumpy - it's the lavender that winds me up, it goes everywhere. (I know - I need a funnel - but that involves me remembering to buy one).
Your new sewing table sounds very exciting, I love a new workstation - I just got a small school desk for my sewing machine and I just sit at it and smile all day (though the chair is rickety and needs replacing before it collapses - it appears to be beyond repair)

JG - the cheque's in the post
I am also planning some craftiness this weekend with the kiddywinks, so I'd appreciate some ideas too.

Hello LK and dingle. I think I'll be dragged out for lunch today too - dd breaks up from school at 12 (why??????) so I think a bit of lunch will be required (and it won't take much to drag me away from the blooming bunting hell)

Dingle - LOVE those cows, especially the brightly coloured one. Make a herd - do it!!!

Nbg · 19/03/2008 10:32

Oooh dont tempt me with the hair.
My friends coming to do it in a couple of weeks.

I heart those mirror drawers in LA.
My front room looks like a LA showroom. I've got the Erin wallpaper. You know the one with the big Chrysanthemums in pink. They put the print on their bags too.
I'm trying to convice dh to decorate the middle room too but he's having one of it atm.

I think you should put some photos up of your house. Even if its just for me
I love looking at people decor.

I'll email you in a couple of weeks about the Merrylegs then.
I just wanted to make sure you had enough time.

meridian · 19/03/2008 10:36

gm- you are very cool.. you say you are a geek but I was very impressed at the Ikea meetup... I would look awful with really short hair... that and the fact that my hair curls oddly when it is shorter... I want to see pictures of your fab house and posh wall paper.. >

though I must say we do have some fab photographic prints on the wall due to DH.. we always have more pictures/frames than wall space...

I jsut got an order of a few beady things just now so I'm a happy bunny... though quite miffed at FedEx as they have a package of mine that i missed the delievery on monday and they were supposed to deleiver it tuesday and never did... grumble grumble... supposedly tommrow but I want it now.. its a deliverly from fire mountain and I'm desperate to have a play with some garnet chips I ordered, 4 strands to make a multistrand necklace I have been thinking about for awhile.... grumble

Gingermonkey · 19/03/2008 11:02

Nbg - I love that wallpaper! DD nearly got it for her bedroom, but then chose the oriental garden one (the birdy one - I think it's called that). I'm training her to have taste
Meri - of your DH's photo skills. I love photos, and if I could actually take decent ones I'd have even more out all over the place. We do have a whole wall devoted to DD - which is a little excessive, but she likes to pose and I couldn't decide which photos I liked best.
As for the geekiness - I think my problem is I have no confidence at all, which stems from being one of the not so cool kids at school. On saturday we saw someone my best friend used to go out with and my friend said 'you remember Katy, don't you?' He looked at me and said (in a really flat and disinterested voice) 'No. Not at all.' That happens all the time - I kind of went through school just under the radar, not so geeky as to be remembered as the weirdo, not cool enough to be remembered as one of the popular girls. I rather like it that way, though!
