Blimey GM, you're glam, love the shoes (what I can see of them.)
Soooo I've got you, oh will have to do some thinking but I did buy some Noro Cash Iroha, that is begging to be made into something.
Had to go to Hitchin yesterday to find doll's eyes for dd's owl (crochet) and stumbled upon this fabulous craft shop, which had a BOGOF offer on all Noro, so I bagged two balls. What to do with it, I don't know but I will think of something.

rantinghousewife · 19/03/2008 12:11

And Dingle I love those knitted cows, I'm quite taken with them.

meridian · 19/03/2008 12:14

lk- I'm up for a meet.. as long as its before the 6th of April as thats when we go down to the airport... would love another meet up... was thinking about maybe a countryside one sometime.. maybe at Chatsworth?

have just made two bracelets this morning and thats it.. I'm tired and my brain is frazzled so going to drag DS out into town for lunch and coffee... must have coffee desperate...

oh and will be sorting out a give away in the next few days as it needs sorting out before going to the states for 3 weeks..

Nbg · 19/03/2008 12:25

of the meet up

lucykate · 19/03/2008 12:27

hey jg, how about if i make it up to you for missing out on ikea meet ups, dh is in some exhibitions down in london, if we make it down for the private views, would you like to come along??

jeangenie · 19/03/2008 13:02

LK YES!!!

Miaou · 19/03/2008 13:09

love that pic gingermonkey - I didn't realise it was a chest of drawers at first and thought you had made a really arty picasso-esque collage

I had a go with my needles last night and started felting a pic on my tea cosy - am very pleased with how it is going! I can see this taking over from knitting as my new obsession ...

Nbg · 19/03/2008 13:20

GM I have spoke to my hairdresser and she says yes to me having Agyness Deyns hair
Maybe slightly modified to allow for my long face and huge nose.

Have just ordered some things for Whizzz's vintage swap pressie

Dingle · 19/03/2008 13:23

Stil haven't heard anything from Champs! Kiddies are off tomorrow so I have gone ahead and loaded my swap to her on my blog!

I am trying to get some ideas together for the Vintage swap now but not very inspired ATM!

jeangenie · 19/03/2008 13:40

my hair is currently in a kind of anne widdicombe meets louise brooks style...never had so many compliments on it I recommend short too...and that's after many years of being able to sit on my hair

just ordered 40 quid worth of bead making stuff what was I thinking...I have at least a million knitting, crochet and sewing projects to do first

meridian · 19/03/2008 13:52

jeangenie- crafting is too addictive... once you do one thing you want to try then next..you see something and go I want to do that.. than is so cute... and you buy just a little bit... and then a little more... and isn't that nice fabric.. i dont sew but... or isn't that a lovely wool skirt in that charity shop if I wash it it will felt.... and on and on... it all depends if you get in trouble for your crafty spending and you can always sew beads onto your sewing.. 2 crafts in one.

lucykate · 19/03/2008 13:53

i'm in the process of growing my hair longer again, under the misapprehension that it will make me look younger

meridian · 19/03/2008 13:59

LK- no way...you certinly don't look it... my hair is a total rats nest at the moment.. really must book into the hair dressers.. but I don't really know what to do with it.. DH wants my hair long.. and I'm not sure what to do... feel in a bit of a low self esteem wise.. and in need of a makeover and not come to terms with being 30 yet let alone being 31 at the end of next month... though I have started my own buisness of sorts with this jewellery and crafting lark .. time to take DS to swimming lesson...

jg- you could meet me near Heathrow in a few weeks we have a hotel sunday the 6th before we fly out to california on monday the 7th... so very glamerous purple hotel by the airport...

Nbg · 19/03/2008 14:09

awww thats lovely dingle.

this hair things got me all confused now.
see i loved my hair when it was long and dh prefers it long but its such a pita to look after and it takes ages do something with.
its a bit victoria beckhamish atm but slightly shorter, spikier and brown.

lucykate · 19/03/2008 14:10

thanks meri , it's the creaky bones that give me away!

hey, does anyone else want to go to the festival of quilts at the nec in august?

chrissnow · 19/03/2008 14:24

Hi ladies. I've been a lurker for aaaages and would like to join you (if I may?). I'm a bit of a maverick crafter - no style or medium as such I just 'make' stuff when I need something or see something that inspires me. I'm a tightfisted moo and all my crafty stuff is scavenged from old jewellery/clothes/gifts etc. I recently bought a knitting/crochet book so hope to learn to do that soon (when I've found some needles and wool at a charity shop - tight fisted remember).
I just bought a copy of crafty beady type magazine and am looking forward to making some lurverly jewels for myself.

lucykate · 19/03/2008 14:26

hi, just join in the fun

chrissnow · 19/03/2008 14:31

thanks. Am a bit intimidated by you lot tbh . You're all so good and your stuff looks so professional. I'm getting better (I always forget to photograph it too which is a pain).

Dingle · 19/03/2008 14:40

Hi chrissnow, we are a friendly bunch here, just delve right in and join the fun and inspiration.

lucykate · 19/03/2008 14:41

thank you for your kind comments, i think we're all mainly doing it to have fun and stay sane whilst being at home with little ones.

come on, there must be more lurkers out there wanting to join it

chrissnow · 19/03/2008 14:49

I agree with that it is fun and sanity saving. Crayons/glue for LOs similar for myself not sure who makes more mess tho!!

I've got inspiration coming out of my ears!!! Wish I had more time tho . Anyway I've gotta run. Will catch you girls later (hopefully I can upload some pics soon).

vInTaGeVioLeT · 19/03/2008 14:53

wow you lot have been nattering away today!!! took me ages to read all that lot!

EASTER IDEAS If you do a search for easter colouring it brings up loads of sites for kids colouring pages and various crafting activities (i use them for my mindees and ds) quite easy and basic ideas - the kids i mind are all under 6 so we need stuff thet can manage i hate seeing the carers/parents doing the activity for the child - gggrrrr - it reminds me of that french&saunders sketch where the kids are making xmas cards . . . . o dear i'm just waffling away now
