I've blogged some pics of my ideas scrapbook - anyone else care to contribute theirs (if they have one?)

Whizzz · 13/03/2008 18:18

Jeangenie my swap stuff came today
I will be muching the Thorntons stuff later and at the moment, the 'Marsupial Eggs' are hanging in my conservatory near my beading table
Thankyou !

I made a little something, but it turned out a bit 'vintage' looking so I may well keep it hidden for the Vintage swap

meridian · 13/03/2008 19:49

12 up for the vintage swap.. so with me thats a bakers dozen so far! Had a lovely day out today will blog about it in the morning and about the starwars bracelet DS requested I make for him. Becuse thats what a Jedi might wear dont you know.

nbg- thank you! I ordered a bunch of beads and clasps the other day so i cna't wait for them to arrive to have a play... I have enough onyx and garnet left that i might make a matching bracelet to the necklace....

right off to watch the last 4 episodes of the first season of 24 we got on dvd last week... I can't believe we didn't watch it the first time around...

miaou- lovely ideas book... mine aren't so neat as that.. well mostly mine are jsut doodles and serial killer handwritten notes..idea...book titles and authors.. music... if the light is good i might take a pic or two from the current one...

jeangenie · 13/03/2008 20:46

ooh, glad it arrived at last whizz, hope you liked at least something about it!

jeangenie · 14/03/2008 08:32

had a good night last night - did the applique part of the quilt top for my friends baby - just waiting for my new embroidery hoop and floss to come now so I can embellish it...(of course then will come the putting it all together and quilting bit...hmm, will take so long maybe won't be for Maaya's baby after all!)
also made a cushion cover from one of those "thrifted" skirts, very cute it looks on my sofa this morning
and started a knitted cardigan just for me on the bus this morning

happy that some projects are underway again

Nbg · 14/03/2008 09:23

Just a quickie

Can you felt cashmere?

Gingermonkey · 14/03/2008 09:36

NBG - that's the best stuff to felt!

OP posts:
jeangenie · 14/03/2008 09:59

but how could you bear to felt cashmere? having recently got my first cashmere cardi ("vintage" ie inexpensive and second-hand!) I couldn't even begin to think of felting it - too gorgeous by far

is it really disgusting NBG can you really not wear it?

Gingermonkey · 14/03/2008 10:05

JG - I was thinking the same thing, and almost shedding a tear at the thought of precious cashmere being felted and snipped up!!!

OP posts:
meridian · 14/03/2008 10:21

don't think i have ever owned anything as nice as cashmere... am throughyl disheartened.. have jsut spent 30min trying to detangle and make a path through ds's room.. its an absoloute heap.he has tipped everything out of the boxes they belong in and made a mess of his whole room.. i have avoided having a proper sort out for weeks . am loosing the will to sort it out so i'm going to put the kettle on and have a mess around with some beads or at least read through some blogs... sigh

lucykate · 14/03/2008 10:23

thought this might be of interest, emily of the black apple on martha

Nbg · 14/03/2008 13:26

Lol at you all worrying about the cardi

Its an old Next one, all black, that my mum gave me ages ago.
It doesn't fit either of us so I may as well make another bag

I finished the other one and I'm really pleased with it.

Plus we also have our new laptop
Yipeeeeeeeeeeee!
I can hopefully blog all my stuff tomorrow.

meridian · 14/03/2008 13:43

ok been a semi-busy bee today.. made a few bracelets and blogged some of my notebook doodles for Miaou and posted a list of those participating so far in the vintage swap if anyone else would like to join.. there are a few from outside of the mumsnet sphere of influence so should be a good one.

best go clean the house then

Whizzz · 14/03/2008 15:03

I have added JeanGenies swap to me to the MN Blog -although I relaised after I posted I haven't used her Blog name & now I can't edit (sorry)

Miaou · 14/03/2008 16:15

Thank you for the notebook pics meri! They are great. I will add a couple to my blog and link to your words because they are interesting too.

I have finished my zebra slippers - yay! Quite pleased with them.

I've also been felting this afternoon - on my blog now - I think the pics might be amusing!

lucykate · 14/03/2008 23:18

no crafting tonight, have been ona girls night out, am a teensy weensy bit pished

neeeeeed to go to sleeeeeep!

jeangenie · 15/03/2008 08:23

how you feeling this morning LK I was out last night too, just had three drinksbut have headache now
have artclub starting at 9.30 and then am hightailing off to Country Living show in town

on felting - the hilarious thing - I put something in to felt again yesterday, a sweater of DHs that needed another run, when I took it out I looked at the label (had thought it was lambswool) - 100% cashmere!

in my defence, it did have a hole in the middle of it!

meridian · 15/03/2008 08:45

jg- you sure you didn't jsut put the hole there to justify yourself? .. hope you have a good day!

lucykate · 15/03/2008 08:47

jg, i have a wopping headache, am on my own with the dc's today, dh off to london to do a portrait sitting. have fun at the country living show, a group of bloggers went yesterday to it, lucy locket, gigibird, moogsmum, dottycookie, etc, they had good fun.

had a bit of a fright at 5am, ds was in bed with us, he asked for a tissue as his nose seemed to be running, but there was blood all over his face [shcok], he was having a nose bleed!

meridian · 15/03/2008 08:50

lk- that just happened to my friends little girl in bed with them last week her DH freaked out. hope the kids good for you today... DS being good thus far here but he has been really pushing me all week... so I finally tidied up his room and got rid of a bunch of stuff and he had a hissy fit that his room was tidy... sigh

Miaou · 15/03/2008 08:53

Sympathies with the head LK! Very of jeangenie going to the Country Living show. I would say a large proportion of pics in my sketchbook come from CL mags! And a couple of links on my blog are for sites I found via CL.

Well I have picked myself up after my slight disaster with the alpaca jumper, and have ordered some needle felting accessories so I am going to have a go at creating a tea cosy. I have made wet felt before but never tried needle felting and it was on my list of things to try this year, so I am very excited about how it may turn out. (Incidentally LK, I ordered it from Handmade Presents via your link, so more kudos to you! ).

And thanks for the trivet tip - I thought I might make some coasters with the sleeves. My parents are currently building a b&b and my mum asked me if I would provide some "conversation pieces" for it, so I reckon the tea cosy and coasters will certainly do that. I am also designing some tapestry covers for bedroom chairs and will give her some of my cross stitch designs for the walls too.

Miaou · 15/03/2008 08:58

Oh and Meri, have added some pics of your sketchbook and a link to your blog - thank you for sharing!
