i've done a bit of blogging and played with buttons but that's about it on the crafty front lately my brain is ticking away with ideas for the vintage swap though!!

Nbg · 10/03/2008 14:21

Happy belated birthday to GM and Dingle.
I hope you both had a lovely day.

Dior I'll email you, thanks

JG the jumper came out really well. I washed on a 95 and threw in one of those eco wash balls to "irritate" it.
I cant wait to do something with it but I still cant decide what.
I'm going to trawl some blogs I think.

I've finished a rather large doll in a red and green gingham fabric, a mini doll and a red jade bracelet.
Obviously I cant show you because we still havent got a bloody laptop.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

jeangenie · 10/03/2008 14:28

nbg - look on the flickr recycled sweaters group for ideas

Dingle - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TOO!

Gingermonkey · 10/03/2008 15:07

jg - what do you want to do, scare the poor girl witless????? That reclycled sweater group is a bit fabulous. I want to send them a really crap picture of my cat in a shrunken bobbly jumper, see what they say to that

jeangenie · 10/03/2008 15:10

go on, I dare you! there are wonderful things on there...but why would that scare NBG? [confused, not keeping up face]

GreebosWhiskers · 10/03/2008 15:11

I've [www.woolly-knit-bits.blogspot.com blogged]] my swap package from Sarah on the big Ravelry Discworld swap - do take a look as it is fab

I've also blogged some more WIP pics of the Pratchgan being sewn together & am off to blog our Ea(s)ter swap now.

I've crocheted a pair of fingerless gloves for another swap & am in the middle of knitting a pair too so I can decide which ones to actually send (my swap partner said she'd take crochet ones but would prefer knit - my knitting is unfortunately not up to much).

I'm also just about to start crocheting a pot-holder for (yet another) Ravelry swap & of course we've got our very own vintage swap coming up too.

I love swaps

GreebosWhiskers · 10/03/2008 15:13

Bum!

blog link

Must remember to preview!

Gingermonkey · 10/03/2008 15:15

It scared me, and made me feel mighty useless in general. I did think I'd have a go at some felty thing, but now I'm cowering in the corner feeling like I'm not quite up to the task

jeangenie · 10/03/2008 15:33

aaah, light dawns...no no NO girls, nothing to be overawed by there...[JG gets strict about MNCrafters self-belief]..you have the skills, USE THEM ON RECYCLED SWEATERS AND BE PROUD...

GW- that is one mighty pratchgan you've got going on if I may say so!

Whizzz · 10/03/2008 15:56

Dior :Look here's my Shaggy Loop bracelet - I also did a 'dangle' for a necklace, here strung temporarily onto another white gold chain I have.
You can't really see the colour of the seed beads (no matter what I do to the photo)! They are described as garnet lined topaz

Nbg · 10/03/2008 16:03

Am chuckling to myself about the Flickr group

There must be one for everything now

I've decided to make the bag that LK linked to the other day and if theres enough left, I'll make some little hanging birds like those on the flickr group.

I realised as well that I'm sure I have an old black jumper somewhere........

lucykate · 10/03/2008 16:11

nbg, i've already made one of those bags, did alter the design a bit, but it was quite easy, felt is very forgiving and hides my dodgy stitching really well.

its here

jeangenie · 10/03/2008 16:19

oooh LK [whispers] your version is MUCH nicerthan the original

meridian · 10/03/2008 16:23

will catch up on everything in a bit as DS and DH will be home soon and I have been tangling myself with felt and thread...

FUBSY- forgot to go to the post office with that bracelet.. will post it out first thing in am.. am out of the loop today totally..

Dior - no I haven't. This was a bit of an experiment so I used bog standard cheapo 5mm jump rings. I only intend to wear this myself, so if it comes undone I can just repair.
I can do a bit of soldering though if need be(thanks to supporting in school DT lessons!).

I quite fancy using some copper jump rings..I can see this getting expensive! I've seen kits too but they are so pricey!

Dior I have CAT you

LK the bag is brilliant! I love the colours.

I've been thinking about how I can make it a bit different.
I'm definately going to do one strap rather than 2 but as for decoration, I'm a bit unsure.
The jumper is striped with all different colours on it.

Meri I like the brooch.
Your not a bad sewer at all.
I'm no expert by any means but I do know that my sewing skills improve everytime I pick up a needle or use the machine.

Kids are in bed now and dh is at work till 10pm so its craft time

rantinghousewife · 10/03/2008 21:15

Well I'm just checking that everyone is ok, especially those of you in the badly hit parts of the country. (I know there's a few in the west here). Hope you're all ok?

lucykate · 10/03/2008 21:20

thank you for all your nice comments, i even got a comment on my blog from betz herself!!

am in the process of making a second bag now, for my mil this time.

we've missed the storm here, it's been wet and a bit windy but not that bad.
