"happy mothers day" everybody

Whizzz · 02/03/2008 14:51

I have indulged myself and posted on the MN Blog

lucykate · 02/03/2008 15:04

yes, happy mothers day

when is happy crafters day???

have put the mn blog onto the uk craft blogs list.

question to everyone who's blog is already listed, and if you have a sitemeter on your blog too, do the daily number of visitors tally for both?

GreebosWhiskers · 02/03/2008 16:56

I can't seem to get my sitemeter thingy to work - I know people are looking at my blog but it keeps telling me I've had zero visitors

lucykate · 02/03/2008 17:22

gw, i've just visited your blog and can't see the sitemeter logo anywhere, you need to copy the html bit from your sitemeter sign up info and add it to your blog via layout, add page element - html code.

the sitemeter will register as 0 until the link is there, hth

GreebosWhiskers · 02/03/2008 18:17

Ah - guess I should've read all the instructions in the amail

Thanks LK - have added it so hopefully will work now

GreebosWhiskers · 02/03/2008 18:18

email, even

I think it's time for a cuppa.

Happy Mother's Day all

rantinghousewife · 02/03/2008 18:20

Happy Mothers Day everyone. I 'did' wonder where you were GW, did you see the Jean Moss article in Knitting about Willy warmers.

GreebosWhiskers · 02/03/2008 18:20

suzi2 can you link to the post please? I can't find it

Nbg · 02/03/2008 19:51

Snort at "Willy warmers"

They should be made in acrylic for that extra itch factor

Anyway
Did we all have a nice mothers day?
I was given the more brain training game for my nintendo ds (not sure what they're trying to tell me there), a nice bottle of chardonnay and a box of truffles.
We spent most of the day at a place called Studley Royal. Its near Fountains Abbey and owned by the national trust. We had a lovely time walking around and wandered into where the deer were. They are so pretty. Plus there was an amazing church slap bang in the middle of it all.
I could have kicked myself though, because I forgot the camera.

Hopefully this week we will have a new laptop and I can get my pics onto the blog.
I was a bit naughty and spent some pennies on some fabric from Nuno but my gawwwd it will be worth it.

rantinghousewife · 02/03/2008 19:54

Oh nice Nbg, not sure Jean Moss 'does' acrylic though

suzi2 · 02/03/2008 20:43

Knitted willy warmers?

I missed that! Is the issue still in the shops? Were there {swoons} pictures?

Actually I offered to knit dh a willy warmer for when he's out running in the winter - apparently certain parts get so cold that they sting. It can't be that bad tho' as his reaction to my suggestion was

I'd have used some nice soft bamboo as well (with maybe just a little hemp, depending on how much he was annoying me while I was knitting )

Have emailed you suzi2.

Tillyboo · 02/03/2008 22:28

Hope everyone had a lovely day today ?

I had my morning cuppa in a new Jamie Oliver Super Mum Mug with a packet of choccy Boasters to dunk in it.

Then we all went to the cinema to see 'The Ugly Duckling and Me'. DH fell asleep so dd & I sat and scoffed our pic n' mix. The cinema was empty, we were the first cars there at 11am !

Then we popped to the craft shop and came home whereupon I went and had a nap on th bed. I woke up at 5pm !

DH and dd hd been to the park, went out on the bike and played on the Wii.

I wasn't really needed today but I had a lovely sleep !

I've had a quiet day. DH flew out to USA this morning and he won't be back until Saturday morning - the day before my Black Belt grading (AARGGHH!!)

We went out to lunch on Saturday - along with DD and my mum - then she babysat so we could go to the cinema to see "National Treasure - Book of Secrets".

I've been able to do a few bits today including finish my Easter Swap for Miaou (see the blog for a sneeky peek.

I've updated my own blog and need to add a few more entries in the morning.

Best go to bed as DD will be in to awaken my in 6 hours and I have training in the evening too

meridian · 03/03/2008 09:36

Dior- oh I'm so glad your mum liked the bracelet.. it was a worry in the back of my brain all this time.. but i'm a worrier by nature...

I hope everyone had a lovely mother's day.. i have jsut done a quick blog about mine.. we went to shottle hall counry hotel for a lovely lunch.. DS didn't really eat much as he had a bit of a tummy bug we think.. which he better now and happily gone off to preschool... leaving me with the tummy bug... I had so much i wanted to do today .. well ten tons of house work and a bit of crafting and now all i want is to curl up... and I want to know why do DH and DS get the trots but when ever I have an upset stomach I throw up? its not fair. at least yesterday was nice..

lucykate · 03/03/2008 09:52

can i just mention something about copyright please.

sorry to single you out tilly, but i noticed the other day that you have some owl garlands for sale in your etsy shop. are they made from the tutorial on moonstitches blog?

if they are, i would just check whether or not the design is under any kind of copyright. sometimes any patterns or tutorials that are available for free, have some restrictions. basically meaning that you can reproduce it for your own purposes (ie, for yourself or for a gift), even blog it, as long as you credit the origin, but not use reproduce it commercially.

i thought i should say something as i don't want to see anyone get into trouble, and through my old job, i'm well aware of the trouble that things like this can cause.

rantinghousewife · 03/03/2008 12:27

Greebos, it's the last issue of knitting, still available, I think! And yes (lol) there were pictures, they were demonstrated on someones hand!!
GINGERMONKEY....Thank you, thank you thank you, I got my swap today (dd off school, injured foot playing football in garden) so she's delighted, for everyone else it's a chick, will put pics on blog later. I had my eye on the lavender sachet but when I asked 10 mins later where it was, she replied she's put it in her wardrobe 'to fragrance it'
She's 5!
Where did you get that Lavender, it smells divine and I want some!

rantinghousewife · 03/03/2008 12:28

Meri, sorry to hear about your bug, hot water bottle, sofa and plenty of fluids. Get well soon.

Tillyboo · 03/03/2008 12:42

Thanks LK - just to be on the safe side I've deleted them. I never thought of that, so much to learn, so little brain left after having children.

I've just booked myself on a Business Link course at the weekend 3hrs Saturday and 3hrs Sunday. It's an introduction to setting yourself up in business - Registering as a Sole Trader, NI, accounting, advertising etc.

They have told me that it's for people 'like me' and I won't feel intimidated .
If nothing else, I get free cups of tea and biccies in a nice hotel and it's a good networking opportunity I suppose. Oh, and it's free too, bargain.
