The blanket or the pigs?

OP posts:
CrochetBug · 08/01/2021 17:36

Pigs! She collects them (but we don't know why. She's never explained)

lazylinguist · 08/01/2021 17:43

Oh that's perfect then! The ummm... exiting piglets thing is a bit funny. Grin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 08/01/2021 17:57

@CrochetBug yes it is! I was swayed by the prettiness of the blanket and it was probably a bit adventurous for a beginner. Although, other than missing some stitches, it does mostly look like that Grin

lucysmam · 08/01/2021 18:34

The pigs are cute. I have no reason to crochet a pig & piglets but dd2 would like them

sophs29 · 08/01/2021 19:31

@lazylinguist those pigs made me giggle Grin would attempt to make for my DS but at nearly 3 years old I think I'd get some awkward questions Grin

sophs29 · 08/01/2021 19:33

Omg there's actually adorable patterns on that persons Etsy!! Smile

CrochetBug · 08/01/2021 19:34

@sophs29 you could make the pig minus the 'hole' and then she could just have piglets.

sophs29 · 08/01/2021 19:45

Good thinking @CrochetBug I wander how it's constructed anyway, it's obviously stuffed? But there's room for the little piggies 🤔

sophs29 · 08/01/2021 19:45

wonder* HmmGrin

CrochetBug · 08/01/2021 19:49

@sophs29

wonder* HmmGrin
DS2 'wrote' a story once. It was the plot to "Titanic" so he didn't make it up himself. He illustrated it and everything. Anyway. Jack and Rose 'wondered' around the ship together a lot Grin

But back to the pig, I guess it's head is stuffed and not the body. But it would be simple enough to stuff the whole thing and close it up rather than leave a hole.

sophs29 · 08/01/2021 20:44

Hahaha @CrochetBug bless him Grin as soon as I sent it I knew I put the wrong one! I blame the pig and her 'hole' for clouding my judgement Grin
Yes it would be! There's a cute little owl that lays an egg on there! I might try that one! My DS loves birds!

CrochetBug · 08/01/2021 21:41

16 year old DS1 wants the unicorn that lays an egg Hmm
DS2 wants all of them. I told him to learn to crochet. Except the human. Apparently that one is weird. Grin

lucysmam · 08/01/2021 22:08

I think I've finally cracked the crewmates...turquoise is much tighter & neater than the other 5, with no holey bits in it's bum. Wonder if I'll manage the next one as well...

I've saved that Etsy seller, I'll see what bits and bobs are left once I've finished the projects I have left & then pick one to have a go at just one, honest

RiverSkater · 08/01/2021 23:32

May I join please, I've knitted on a French loom a lovely chunky scarf and while It was so easy and great to create something I can wear I can't work out how to cast off!

Can anybody a recommend a really clear video or instructions for this ?

Thank you!

lazylinguist · 09/01/2021 07:55

There are a couple of loom knitters on here, RiverSkater, so one of them might be able to help. Though I don't know how a French loom differs from any other kind!

Some great work on here. At long last I've finished a knee-high pair of socks and I put a pic near the end of the last thread. The legs seemed to take forever. They're wearable and cosy but less than perfect. No-one's going to peek up my trouser legs, are they? They don't quite match as I had to graft a bit more single rib at the top of one leg as it wasn't long enough and I should have started the toe in plain knitting instead of the pattern, but hey ho, they're wearable. Hoping future pairs will pass muster.

bruffin · 09/01/2021 14:18

I finished ds socks, in nordlys viking,

Ooh more lovely socks! gingham - I've never made knee-length ones! I'm feeling a bit uninspired atm. Cowl (my only current wip Shock) is a bit boring, can't seem to motivate myself to do any more crochet squares atm. I need to start another project... I'm about to have a wardrobe clearout. I might follow it with a yarn stock-take and find something I can make with some yarn I actually own. Grin

Well; I was going to try out my bamboo hooks from the girls for my birthday...what I'm actually re-attaching crochet Errol's legs Hmm

lazylinguist · 09/01/2021 17:55

Oh dear! What happened to Errol's legs?!

OP posts:
lucysmam · 09/01/2021 18:20

Dd2 sleeps with Errol & his legs are not quite as sturdy as I'd hoped, compared to the rest of him, so they've come a bit loose with her moving at night (and probably being crammed in bed with a zillion other soft toys as well).

They're back on now so I'll try my hooks shortly.

tizwozliz · 09/01/2021 18:23

Struggling with motivation, i got bored of one dinosaur so decided to start another smaller one just to try and get something finished. Would be really useful to refind my crochet mojo as there's bugger all else to do. Not even a week in to the lockdown.....

CrochetBug · 09/01/2021 18:24

Same here @tizwozliz. I've picked up and rejected about 5 WIPs, started a lime Among Us character and now sat here doing nothing. Hmph

lucysmam · 09/01/2021 19:25

Wherever your motivation has gone, I think mine went with it! I really want to try my hooks & have turquoise sat next to me, waiting to be finished off, but cba.
