Realised i havent been on this thread for 2 years!
I lost my knitting mojo for a while. I became diabetic last year and it affected my near sight for a while and found knitting difficult but it's all okay and back into knitting last winter.
I am knitting a blanket for my son's new flat atm

Just found this group. Am knitting this Isabell Kraemer jumper right now but not sure if the colours are just right, they seem sharper in the original. Anyway, nothing to do but plough on at this stage!

@MindyMalik take care of yourself Flowers the CAL is not the thing to be worrying about and we’ll still be here when you can do the CAL. It’s such a long to be isolated from everyone at the best of times but when you’re having such a stressful and sad time, it’s even harder.

Afternoon all. At last I've finished the first leg of my third pair of socks. I was hoping that eventually I'd manage the perfect pair without any undoing but that hasn't happened yet. This latest effort fitted perfectly round the leg but I had to frog the foot twice as it was too big. On the instep I had to decrease at intervals to get a good fit. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I will try to attach a pic. I'm a 1/3 of the way down its mate. It's the last pattern in Ann Budd's book. Just like me to pick the most complicated isn't it? This has become a new obsession.

@lazylinguist @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack I think it's just the stress of having lost one family member and two other in similar situation. It's such a difficult time I just want this all to be over it's nearly a year of isolating and it's becoming a very sad situation. I hope you all stay safe and so do your families.xxxx

Oh Mindy BrewCake go easy on yourself. I hope they get well soon.

Oh you poor thing, Mindy. Don't worry about being behind on the CAL - I expect that's the last thing on your mind atm. I'm being a bit slow with the CAL too, but I don't have your very good reasons for being behind. Look after yourself, and I hope all your family pull through and get well soon. Flowers

Some cute doggies here 🐶

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your kind words and gentleness. I've literally cried far too much than is healthy but am trying to look after myself. The other cat misses her terribly.

Tell me, did the poster get a baby's cardigan pattern ok? I have one in my crochet book if it helps? Just tag me if you want the pattern

My mohair exciting purple wool has arrived so I'll open that soon.

My mega delivery is due tomorrow for my special gift to myself mosaic blanket. It think it's gonna be skulls, cats and possibly penguins. Completely barmy of course . I need to get lost in something. Gonna do some sketches up later 🤔

The CAL pics are beautiful. I love the crazy colours and mixed and surprisingly, the simplicity of @lazylinguist. I'm a bit of a crazy colour Crocheter but it's just stunning 👌

♥ To all. [/quote]
@Myshitisreal Hi there 🤗 It was me that asked for a baby cardigan pattern. I've managed to find one online but thankyou so much for offering! Grin

I have that trouble with granny squares too, AngeloMysterioso. With mine it's partly that I make lots of different granny squares, but also that I've made them infrequently over a long period of time, and my tension hasn't been consistent!

Btw, everyone can now decamp and join us on the new thread!

I did two quite a while ago, started a third, had quite a long crochet break, finished the third, did the fourth and then tonight’s.

Report
CrochetBug · 27/01/2021 01:17

Most likely cause is that you didn't crochet as tightly as you did before @AngeloMysterioso. Did you do the others recently or have you had a crochet break?

I’m gonna dive right in and ask the crochet-ers for some advice... I did another willow square this evening, followed the same tutorial, used the same hook etc... but this one has turned out a fair bit bigger than the others. Any idea why that could be? It’s the top left in the pic...

I agree with lazy I think it’s double moss stitch. The second looks more like a pattern than a stitch to make arrows or triangles. It looks like you repeat each row twice like this, but it might be easiest to unpick the last triangle and write it out as you do..

Yes it is lazylinguist Smile

Moss stitch sounds familiar, thank you. I tried Google Lens on them earlier & didn't get very far.

Hi Waldeninthewoods! I'm presuming your username is a Thoreau reference? The first picture looks like moss stitch to me. I'm not sure about the second. See you all on the new thread!

@crochetbug thank you! I have little angel stitch markers so I'm going to put one on each pocket and maybe fancy it up a little as I'm going to put a nice border on providing I've enough wool.

My mums always been a bit uhhhhhh kind of like down her nose at my crochet, so the fact she's asked me to make this 🤯. I want her to say "oh my god I can't actually believe you made this" 🙏

I'm sneaking in right at the end -typical- to say how cheerful & inspiring this thread has been to follow Smile Thank you Op!

I'm slightly in awe of all your amazing projects and I am miles away from understanding patterns. My only project is one rib scarf.

Can any of you clever knitters tell me what these stitches are in these squares I made a few years back? I was very ill & just cannot remember Confused I also couldn't count and they need unpicking & re-doing if I'm up to it.

Predictive text is Brutal sometimes 😂

Can anyone advise on pockets?

Im making the enclosed, well I've changed the stitch pattern. I'm almost finished the scarf then will make the pockets.

I was going to fleece line them which is where I get unsure.

I was going to do a rectangle of fleece, fold
it and sew up each side, attach by sewing to the pocket (leaving an edge of crochet), then sew (or crochet slip stitch) the pocket onto the scarf.

Did this make sense. Am I over complicating it? This is the kind of thing I just wing and cross my fingers 🤞
