Yes. With the huge help of Hunker, and some sizzix cuts and tape from UCM.

Whizzz · 02/10/2007 16:11

Lovely VVV - I am loving the colours

Whizzz · 02/10/2007 16:53

Sorry you have been poorly Lucykate - hope you are feeling better.
and oh dear re: UCM

DastardlyDior · 02/10/2007 16:59

Can we not dwell on that on the A&C forum? I would rather it was all pink and fluffy here if that is ok .

Whizzz · 02/10/2007 18:14

for Dior

VeniVidiVickiQV · 02/10/2007 18:19

Oh dior

Lovely kitten whizzz. Colours go with my colour scheme which is gold and burgundy.

DastardlyDior · 02/10/2007 18:22

So, when do we all get our invitations?

hmm?

Tillyboo · 02/10/2007 18:26

Love the colours on the invitation VVV but I can't see the card very well as this dam cold has made my eyes really watery, stingy and sore.

I have made an xmas decoration today but won't post til I've done at least another one as just one looks like a pathetically poor effort .

LK - Hope you feel better soon !

VeniVidiVickiQV · 02/10/2007 18:29

LOL we need to sort going to hobbycraft first....

Dont worry tilly - my camera isnt that fantastic either.

Dingle · 03/10/2007 10:24

hey dingle, how are you coping with all the dust?, i remember last year with our kitchen, we were all coughing so much, dust was everywhere for months!

am just settling down for a day of sewing, no dc's til 3.30. have veered from my cushion cover ideas and working on a banner for my blog and then some bits & bobs for christmas presents.

am feeling better, i have a small heart defect that i was born with and was having a few problems with it skipping beats. been to docs and had an ecg, heart fine, nothing to do with heart condition, just normal things that can happen to anyone from time to time but have been for some blood tests this morning just to double check, so i'm going to thread my needle and relax

DastardlyDior · 03/10/2007 12:06

LK - poor you. Definintely take it easy...always a good reason for crafting isn't there .

GingermonkeySucksBlood · 03/10/2007 14:47

oh Dingle, no PC - what a horrible thought!
Glad your test came back OK LK, hope you are feeling alright. Good excuse to take it easy and relax. I've been out today for lunch with DH and bought some new underwear so no sewing so far today (but he is out tonight so I shall sew like a crazy woman!, the children can go without food and have some cheerios or something for tea and put themselves to bed, lol!)

GingermonkeySucksBlood · 03/10/2007 14:49

also, LK - what is the pattern you have done for that book? You are a talented creature aren't you?! Well done!!!! (have you seen the book, is it good, should I order it???? )

lucykate · 03/10/2007 17:00

the book, its a pattern for a rag doll, plus i've written the 'how to cross stitch' section. haven't seen it yet, its gone to the printers this week, out end oct/beg nov ish, i will get sent a copy so will let you know if its any good.

i made a lot of contacts with my design job and gained a huge amount of experience so i am cheating a bit as that does give me a head start. i wasn't really going to work to this extent until next september when ds gets his 5 sessions at nursery, but the book project came up in feb and it has snowballed since then. anchor have selected 4 new soft toy designs to kit in their next launch which leads me to now make all kinds of decisions for the future about things like selling through etsy etc, i've done lots of craft fairs in the past and find them to be not a lot of return for the amount of work needed to put together a stall, but again, that depends on what you are selling, for how much, and how long each item takes you to make. i do like the idea of selling the odd thing on etsy though, so easy given its all done on line from home.

btw, dh is in the times on saturday, in one of the colour suppliments. he has a self portrait in an exhibition on atm in the mall gallery and it is going to be featured as 'picture of the week'

GingermonkeySucksBlood · 03/10/2007 21:34

LK check you 2 out!!!! Fab news. We get the Guardian on sat, but MIL gets the times, so I'll have a nosey. His work is amazing, I passed his website addy onto a friend who is having a baby and was talking about getting something done. Don't know if anything will come of it, but you never know (they have plenty of cash, so are not afraid of paying for such things). I'd love a painting of the kids, but I don't think we could afford your super talented hubby, judging by how amazing his work is
Definately let me know about the book, I love crafty books (never get round to doing anything, but if they are on my shelf I may do one day!!!).

Tillyboo · 03/10/2007 23:03

Dingle - We have to move out just after New Year for a month as we are having some remedial work done on the house. I'm dreading it, so much upheaval, dirt and dust. We cannot stay in the house because of medical reasons relating to dd.

LK - Glad you are feeling better. Will look out for the supplement too.

I have been a good girl and managed to make 3 Xmas Decs. Not great in terms of volume but it's better than nothing.
Here you go, you can have a look on my blog here

I'll try and make a few more tomorrow as dd is at pre-school

auntyquated · 04/10/2007 14:56

don't worry dingle ---no rush, stick me to the bottom of your list

hope you get sorted out soon

oo they are pretty Dior
I have made a bracelet as a possible swap for LucyKate (see separate A&C thread) & also had a go at beading round a cabochon for the first time don't laugh it caused me much cursing !

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 04/10/2007 17:25

I thought of you, Whizzz, as I flicked through the FatFace catalogue last week. It's full of beady lariats etc I think it was the FatFace one anyway...

Whizzz · 04/10/2007 18:12

LOL - yes I got one too & thought.....I can make those ! In fact I ripped the page out for inspiration !!

LOL at Hilda comment !! I got the cab sent to me as part of a swap. It's not got a hole in it to thread, hence the beading. I think however it would look better with a fastening glued to the back rather than me Hilda-esque beading

(and can you tell I have a big bag of purple seed beads, hence everything is purple these days )
