Am going to order the Animal Magic book from Amazon. It looks like it would be nicer to do with markers for brighter colours. These are recommended in the Amazon reviews. Are they worth it?

Thanks!

try using flubit for the FC polychromos - you enter the URL and they try and beat the price. You save more with this than sites like Quidco etc

I just did an instant offer and they went down to £127.27 - if you wait longer they will be cheaper.

Great website! Thank you.

Mandy2003 · 09/06/2015 12:12

Ooh, thanks for the idea of what to take on holiday! I always find I need something to do with my hands on a caravan holiday Grin Just going to order the Animal Kingdom one now. I have a set of pencils and a set of sharpies so good to go!

valrhona · 09/06/2015 12:23

Thank you Sultan Smile

I'm really, really looking forward to my books arriving!

The pencils got a little trial run on an old copy-book last night. Lovely rich colours...

Dd is going to show me how to do cross-hatching and blending later. She's quite good at that kind of thing.

A new hobby!!

Wagglebee · 09/06/2015 13:06

Thank you Star

I'd forgotten about cross hatching. I've had achy hands for a few days so haven't done any more but plan to later on.

Aren't they just beautiful to work with Train?

I love that if you press down harder the colours are so vivid.

That has to be it! she must be an artist!

I can't wait to move on to the next picture.

Stealthsquiggle · 09/06/2015 17:35

I have a few metallic Lyra pencils - bought at ridiculous expense in Oslo airport I was bored. There is nothing to do in Oslo airport

I am thinking of getting three 8yo girls (who are having a joint party) each a small set of fine liners and one of the postcard books - do you think they are at the wrong age - my 8yo loves pinching mine....

MazzR · 09/06/2015 17:54

I ordered a book and lovely pencils on amazon a few weeks ago and in the last couple of weeks got emails saying that both can't be sent Sad

MrsMcGregor · 09/06/2015 18:30

Wow! Talented ladies ??

Mazz, that's really disappointing. Are you going to order something else?

Today's effort. I am really pleased with my decision to get pencils instead of pens, I'm really enjoying them.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 09/06/2015 18:55

That's lovely, Lemon! I haven't started mine yet and am wondering if I'll be able to get shading like that with my felt tips Confused

Sallystyle · 09/06/2015 19:27

You really can do so much more with pencils.

I need to get my son to give me a lesson in shading. I am about to start a new page and this one is going to be better!
