Am going to order the Animal Magic book from Amazon. It looks like it would be nicer to do with markers for brighter colours. These are recommended in the Amazon reviews. Are they worth it?

Thanks!

Going to look for them at the weekend Becca thank you.

I tried a bit of fancy blending tonight. Worked pretty well but definitely need more practice. I googled the Enchanted Kingdom book and some finished pics of the Secret Garden came up and put me to shame. Mine look like a 12 year old's in comparison. Blush Telling myself a professional artist must've done them...Hmm

It's addictive Iloveonion be warned. Smile

Tesco do a series of art therapy books and crayola felt pens don't seem to go through the paper, not sure if they're the books you're talking about OP but they're brill. Especially the zen patterned one Grin

Mine look like a 12 year olds in comparison to those pictures as well.

My fine liners will arrive today.

Mine will more likely resemble the efforts of a reception aged child Blush but who cares Grin?! My book and pencils have arrived but I haven't had time to open them yet. Am hoping the fineliners come tomorrow. Am ridiculously excited!! Happy colouring folks!

Have just bought a fab book from The Works which is like 1950s style comic strip pictures - not intricate patterns which I didn't want because of my eyesight. Very excited to start tonight!

I might share pics when I finish one.

Just got my fine liners and now going to try them out.

I had a quick play.

The finer liner colours are gorgeous! Very bright which I prefer over the pencils.

The only thing I find harder is keeping a constant pressure. If you go over a bit too many times it doesn't look so good so I need to find a better way of doing it.

I also go over the lines way too much no matter what I use :( some bits are so tiny that I don't see how people don't manage to ever go over the lines.

So I think the pens are winning right now just for how the colours pop.

I also need to learn how it colour in better because I quite suck at it.

Oh crap! I just turned the page and they bled through easily, ruining the other page completely :(

Ohh you are a Hay Dayer too!

Oh no U2 .... I thought the Amazon reviews said they done bleed. Can't wait to get mine ... the colours look fab.

Yes, too much Hay Day though Blush. It's really quite addictive!

Asda have a Zen Colouring Book in at the moment, if anyone's interested.

They bled through one page and when I closed the book there was some bleed through in a second page where it was still wet.

I think they would work well on thicker paper but not the Animal book.

Oh bummer. I just started the Dragonfly with the pencils. Pencils are great and the pictures lovely ... until I do them an injustice! The lines are soo narrow in places, I hope I can see better with my glasses on!! Can see why the fineliners would be better there. Disappointing.

I'd like to try fine liners too but I press quite hard sometimes so they're bound to bleed through.

I like the sound of that one Cheesy

Does anyone fancy posting some pictures of their work? I'd be interested to see how you all do it Smile

I recently bought Doodle Invasion colouring book and these Crayola Supertips markers. I've not started colouring yet but the book is great and the ink of the markers is true to their external colour so I'm impressed. The only thing is, from doing a test, the ink bleeds through the paper a little, but that won't be a problem with a sheet or two of scrap paper underneath.

That doodle book looks right up my street. I am not a fan of all the geometric patterns that are in most of the books.

The one I got from WHSmiths doesn't have many geometric shape type pictures in - that was why I got it. I think they are producing them monthly but haven't found this months yet.
