Am going to order the Animal Magic book from Amazon. It looks like it would be nicer to do with markers for brighter colours. These are recommended in the Amazon reviews. Are they worth it?

Thanks!

All lovely colours! So bright! You're all very clever with your techniques. I do a bit of shading with my pencils, but that's about it. I just enjoy colouring.

owl it's getting there, bit by bit, I'll post a pic when it's finished!

Theas18 · 15/07/2015 07:19

Bought a lovely colouring book in the prime sale on Amazon.
Recommend me some pens :) I normally il use pencil but think I'll branch out

FeelingSmurfy · 15/07/2015 09:49

Theas I have always used crayola supertips, they are good quality. I have never tried blending though. I have the pack of 50 including 12 scented ones, and that gives a good range of colours

Owl thankyou Smile

I like my steadler fine liners and gel pens. Just ordered another book! Creative Havens Whimsical gardens, This one, though out of stock on Amazon, but found it on Ebay, slightly cheaper too.

12 scented ones Shock??

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 15/07/2015 14:32

My latest from the secret garden. Like my heart one I last posted, I used a blend of polychromos and spectrum noir pencils and derwent pastels sealed with colourfix spray.

Godammit technology, why do you fail me? Can we all just agree to look at this one at a jaunty angle please? Grin

FeelingSmurfy · 15/07/2015 14:37

Waggle yup, the one I posted above with the butterflies smells of cherry Smile

FeelingSmurfy · 15/07/2015 14:38

Wow, beautiful Eddie

OwlAtEase · 15/07/2015 15:11

I turned my entire laptop sideways just for you, Eddie Grin. That is absolutely stunning. I'm really impressed by the shading on the wishing well - the bricks, roof and bucket are all so good.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 15/07/2015 15:29

Aww thank you Owl, especially for risking your technology just to look at my picture ha ha. I was chuffed to bits with this one, but I think it needed the pastels round the side just to finish it off properly. Everyone on this thread is producing gorgeous colouring though, I'm really impressed with all the pen colouring - I just can't make my pens look at good as some of the work on here!

Mine is nothing like all the wonderful pics on here, I just colour (no shading of anything) but the one I'm doing at the moment does smell of orange Grin does that get me extra points?

I shake so its a bit difficult to stay in the lines, but I do what I can Smile covered in chicken pox at the moment so I'm keeping my hands busy so that I can't scratch!

applecatchers36 · 15/07/2015 20:06

Inspired by Testarossa have just brought enchanted forest colouring book & it's gorgeous....

Testarossa1 · 16/07/2015 13:35

Yay Apple isn't just gorgeous!! I've almost finished the first page, will post when it's done!
Eddie I think that's lovely!

FeelingSmurfy · 16/07/2015 13:40

Do people do books in order or go through and choose a picture?

It depends on the book with me, I have one which is stained glass butterflies (thick tracing type paper) and I do those in order as they are pretty similar in difficulty level etc, but with ones that are totally different I go through and see what I am in the mood for

WaggleBee · 16/07/2015 14:46

Cherry scented butterflies! Shock That definitely gets you extra points Feeling

Eddie Gorgeous pic. Are those pastels you've used for the shading in the background? It's really impressive.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 16/07/2015 15:12

Smurfy, I just choose what speaks to me at the time. My DD goes through a colouring book from start to finish and that just makes my teeth itch! I just "know" which one to colour by looking at it......

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 16/07/2015 15:14

Waggle, no the background is spectrum noir pencils with a blunt tip so they go on really smooth. The pastel bit is just the yellow ring round the outside of the image. Thank you for all the lovely comments btw!

WaggleBee · 17/07/2015 00:44

Wow Eddie I really thought it was pastels as it's so soft and smooth. I'd never get it that well blended.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 17/07/2015 09:02

It really is just pencils! The spectrum noir pencils go on really smooth, and if you blunt the tip on a scrap of paper it's so easy to get them to blend. promise!

WaggleBee · 17/07/2015 09:29

Think I might have to invest in some. Smile

OwlAtEase · 17/07/2015 10:03

I just go through and choose a picture, Smurfy. Sometimes I want something really involved, and sometimes I want something simple. And I'm saving quite a few of my favourites until I manage to get some polychromos pencils Smile

WaggleBee · 18/07/2015 17:09

I pick a picture that takes my fancy rather than go through it front to back.
