Am going to order the Animal Magic book from Amazon. It looks like it would be nicer to do with markers for brighter colours. These are recommended in the Amazon reviews. Are they worth it?

Thanks!

I've been lurking on this thread for a while, but wanted to say thanks for the long point sharpener recommendation - bought one the other day in Hobbycraft and I love it! :)

Meerka · 01/07/2015 13:35

made it to the end of Dry June! under the weather today but at last I can start planning exactly which pencils to buy =)

Testarossa1 · 01/07/2015 14:22

Can't wait for my pens to arrive. Got an email this morning saying they have been dispatched.

If anyone is an acupuncturist or interested in Chinese Medicine then an Acupuncture Points Functions colouring book has just been published

Figster · 01/07/2015 18:32

I've joined the colouring club with a zen animals colouring book am so excited I bought another for a friends bday today.

Am going to take on holiday in a few weeks time.

I was thinking pens not pencils any recommendations?

OwlAtEase · 02/07/2015 02:01

That book looks great, Testa!

Welcome to the thread Blue and Sunbeam, it's so nice to see new posters joining in and expanding our cult group Grin

Figster, I think most of us are using the Staedtler triplus fineliner pens. Your zen animals book sounds fun!

Meerka · 02/07/2015 08:04

I'm using stabilo Pen 68 range, box of 40 (box of 50 isn't really worth it). Love them, though I havent tried the staedtler fineliners for comparison.

Testarossa1 · 02/07/2015 09:39

Waiting for the postman to see if he has my pens. I'm itching to try them out! Picked out a picture of shells for my first attempt!

Oh good choices Train! The artist who did Secret Garden and Enchanted Forest is bringing out a new book in October called Lost Ocean, which I'm going to have to get. I love her pictures.

Hankering after pencils now too! Faber castell polychromos out of my price range, but they also do this pack of 48, much cheaper, anyone know if they are any good?

Right. You lot are responsible for mega spends on colouring. I ordered a couple of books on amazon, then made DH drive me into town to buy more. And some pens. Now I've been back on amazon for 2 more books and been to hobbycraft. Bought the spectrum noir essentials set (£20) plus some individual polychromos to try. Both of the them are just lovely to use!

Meerka · 02/07/2015 18:56

oh lovely anglo-saxon design there blue!

Adult colouring books are great and occupy the brain, blocking out worries and stress.

Pencils ordered!! Have refrained from more books, but lots added to my wish list! Pens have arrived today, slighted gutted as going away for the weekend straight from work tomorrow and to far to nip home for them, so don't even have the chance to take the book and pens with me!

BlueEyeshadow · 02/07/2015 22:06

Thanks Meerka :) (Celtic actually, from the Book of Kells.)

MrsMcGregor · 02/07/2015 22:41

We've moved .... I wondered why I couldn't find you all in Chat Grin. I haven't coloured in a fortnight - rl has been hectic and now Wimbledon has started, it's got my attention! I will be back though!

I love all the photos posted ... the colours are lovely and effects brilliant. Hi to all the new colourers .... yep, it could be a very expensive thread ... how expensive depends on willpower!
