Am going to order the Animal Magic book from Amazon. It looks like it would be nicer to do with markers for brighter colours. These are recommended in the Amazon reviews. Are they worth it?

Thanks!

I use paint markers sometimes. I love them.
Just ordered some more today on Amazon. Can't wait.

Becca19962014 · 17/06/2015 22:47

I took mine away with me and had a great time colouring! I won't be posting mh efforts though I love seeing others pics!

Wagglebee · 18/06/2015 02:13

The blending pencil looks very good. It's subtle but there's a definite difference. Those leaves look like they're jumping off the page.

The brightness of the felts and pens are tempting me.

That's a really good price for the faber pencils. Shame they're sold out but I wonder if they'll restock soon. I've promised myself I'll get them for Christmas if not before.

Lovely pictures everyone. The mysterious white band failed me yesterday and I sustained my first casualty last night. Poor blue is now much shorter than his friends Grin

Anyone else tempted by this? doodle wallpaper

Just me then? Grin

I actually need to decorate my bedroom Grin can you imagine what other MNers would say if they saw a picture of my bedroom with that wall paper? it's bad enough that I have a leather brown couch Grin

Meerka · 18/06/2015 09:20

eeyore that's lovely!

lemon that wallpaper is ace!

SecondSunrise · 18/06/2015 09:33

Well thanks everyone, you've spoiled my birthday now. I ordered 24 of the Staedtler Ergosoft pencils and Enchanted Forest book and I'm now in trouble with DH. He's been planning to give them to me for my birthday as a surprise for months (never mind he can get me even more colouring goodies)! I've not said anything about my colouring lust so he must know me very well. Love some of the photos you've put up, thanks for sharing!

littlemonkey2013 · 18/06/2015 14:25

I said I wasn't going to sucked in by the colouring books because I already spend too much money on knitting and crochet.
But then it happened I saw the books. And my son isn't old enough to use these pencils. I now want pens!

Ha, gentle thread? No it isn't! You lot are making me buy those fancy faber castell pencils.

I'm just going for the 60 pack as I can't justify £120 on the 120 pack.

AgathaChristie01 · 18/06/2015 18:34

Bought myself the staedtler felt tips today Blush.
Because I'm worth it... And am waiting on my order from Amazon.

I'm listening! Grin

I think I might just get the normal ones as the guilt will get me if I buy the fancy ones. I could just buy a few individual fancy schmancy ones.

ShoopShoop · 18/06/2015 19:50

I bought the individual fancy metallic ones today. Can't wait to try them out when I finally get out of the office.....arghhhhh!!

starsandunicorns · 18/06/2015 20:08

I'm listening too ... i yearn for the 120 (once I've earned them) but guilt is wagging its unwanted finger at me ... what exactly were they, lovely?

TheTravellingLemon · 18/06/2015 20:13

starsandunicorns love the mixing of different pens and pencils. That's definitely something that I want to try.

Here's my flowers. The colours are a bit off I think. This one was mainly about experimenting with blending and layering.

Can't argue with 48 colours for £13. Bargain.

The range had big 50 tins for £5! Shock They're probably not the best quality and have Disney pics on the front but for anyone wanting to try it out without spending much at first then they could be good.

ALovely which book did you buy?

addictedtosugar · 19/06/2015 08:37

Hello Ladies,

I've been lurking for a bit, and succomed.
just 24 pencils and a couple of books (a really relaxing natural one, and an art theropy one, which I think someone else has, as I recogonised the fox)

Colouring is not anywhere at a level to pic and share, but you lot are amazing and inspiring. Thank-you.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 19/06/2015 08:45

"Anyone else tempted by this? doodle wallpaper"
Yup! I think it would go lovely with a feature wall of that glittery shit wallpaper that was on another thread Grin. I dream of having a house with plenty of WTF Wink.

It's great seeing everyone's work and interesting to compare the pencils to pens. And I'm so glad to have got into colouring because I feel as though, for me, it's a type of mindfulness that I can find difficult to do otherwise. I can see why it's called art therapy now.

Lemon that was the picture I did too, but I've got to the stage of not wanting to do any more with it. Going to do the toadstools one (half way through the book) next.

I love it WhatALoadOfOldBollocks, the colours are much better than mine. I know what you mean about finishing it off though. It gets a bit boring with all those swirls.

I might practice a lighter touch on the next one.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 19/06/2015 09:06

"I love it WhatALoadOfOldBollocks, the colours are much better than mine."

Thanks Lemon but I actually prefer the vibrancy of yours and was thinking mine was a bit too muted. I'm going for a bit more ooomph in the next one.

TheTravellingLemon · 19/06/2015 09:12

Grin. I'll do a more subtle one and you can do a heavy handed one and we can compare later. Be prepared to have a dent in your thumb from pushing really hard!
