Team Hooker, now with added pictures :)

Whilst on holiday recently, I finished a hat and started a blanket. The blanket will have at least 200 4" squares in the end so I have a little way to go!

That's a fab idea - have you got a link to the pattern?

newlark · 29/10/2014 17:53

this is the one I used (note US terminology and I just did rows 1 to 4 as the full version looked a bit excessive!) but I just typed Poppy into the pattern finder on ravelry and filtered for free, crochet patterns and there were several. Dd has already requested one and I might make a few more for family.

Umlauf · 01/11/2014 08:13

newlark I am overseas so was considering doing the same with a poppy! Yours is lovely.

Here is my Christmas wreath.

Umlauf, your wreath is beautiful :)

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 01/11/2014 12:34

Umlauf, your wreath is the most beautiful crochet version I've seen. I started making a crocheted Christmas wreath last night and if it is half as beautiful as yours I shall be pleased.

KinkyDorito · 01/11/2014 14:15

That is lovely!

I am now planning to make a wreath Smile.

newlark · 01/11/2014 15:48

That is stunning Umlauf - I think I may have a go at one too (might be finished for next Christmas!)

Sirzy · 01/11/2014 22:02

that wreath is lovely. I still need to make more snowballs to finish mine, but bored of making them!

Givemecaffeine21 · 02/11/2014 19:01

Beautiful wreath. I know it's sacrilege but I actually much prefer it to Attic 24s (and I'm a big fan of hers but I prefer the more muted Christmassy colours you've used). I had shelved the idea of making one but you've re-inspired me!

Sirzy · 02/11/2014 19:03

Oops two wool warehouse orders in the space of one weekend may be a bit excessive. Especially given I already have 3 things on the go!

KinkyDorito · 02/11/2014 19:03

I agree Giveme. I have just bought a range of greens, reds and gold to have a crack at one as a gift for DM. I love that I am 35 but still like to make things for my mum Smile.

KinkyDorito · 02/11/2014 19:04

Sirzy I might be divorced when DH sees the next order turn up... Grin

HowlCapone · 02/11/2014 19:07

One of the joys of being divorced is that I don't have to hide my yarn habit :)

Gorgeous wreath!

Sirzy · 02/11/2014 19:18

Kinky - one of my orders was for a jumper for my mum.

Howl - yup being single means no having to hide wool

FauxFox · 03/11/2014 18:10

Can any of you lovely crochet people help me? I want to crochet some mini doll xmas tree decs for my mum. We had some like the one in the pic when I was a child and I wanted to do a sort of updated version making one doll of each family member. I have never crocheted before and don't know where to start! I need a pattern I think? or a book? Any advice is gratefully received!

FauxFox · 03/11/2014 18:12

umlauf that wreath is absolutely beautiful!

FunkyBoldRibena · 03/11/2014 18:19

Have you tried Ravelry?

Catsmamma · 03/11/2014 18:20

fauxfox ...How good are you at crocheting? Would you need a pattern or could you wing it?

here's a bit about pegdolls but paper clothes

there are some peg doll crochet clothes on Ravelry, but they all look like pay patterns

it's a very nice idea to crochet one for each person...really sweet.

Catsmamma · 03/11/2014 18:22

sorry, just saw you are new to crochet.

in my defence i am in the middle of cooking a roast dinner!

Catsmamma · 03/11/2014 18:26

oooh how cute are these?? Look at their little gnomey faces!

if you did the right eye colour and if everyone in your family has a distinctive beard theses could really work! :o

HowlCapone · 03/11/2014 18:41

Oh, I had one of those little doll ornaments when I was little :)

FauxFox · 03/11/2014 19:29

catsmamma thank you! I think that could work! And having the cork base is probably going to be way easier than crocheting the whole thingThanks

Although now I have seen the beautiful things you are all making I may become a hooker for life Grin

wanttosinglikemarycoughlan · 03/11/2014 19:32

Love the wreath. I am hoping to make one
This is my latest finished project

FauxFox · 03/11/2014 19:33

Though only one beard will be needed I think some hair coming out from the hats would be possible? And little accessories maybe? Ooh I'm going to have fun here Smile

NorahToffeeApple · 04/11/2014 09:02

Wow there are so many really cool things! I am in the middle of a blanket making frenzy, I'm doing two ripples (one for dd one for ds3), a cosy stripe pattern and my own as you go mixed stitch blanket using my birthday yarn (which is soooooo gorgeous).
