Team Hooker, now with added pictures :)

Whilst on holiday recently, I finished a hat and started a blanket. The blanket will have at least 200 4" squares in the end so I have a little way to go!

Loads of lovely things! Smile
I am wading through four (yup) blankets. One for me as a long term learning curve (as you go), one cosy stripe inspired, an interlocking rainbow ripple and a normal ripple.
Shock
I have a small problem with this ripple though. I've run out of the white colour but the blanket isn't long enough. I'm thinking of adding length by having the ripple bit in the middle with Some thing Else either side, but I'm not sure what...
Any ideas gratefully received Grin

Yes..I did think about that but I am using reclaimed white from an old knitted blanket of ds1's and it would still look different IySWIM?
I wondered about ripples without the white but it might look like I should have white there, or do you mean straight stripes?
I almost think it needs to be 'look at me I'm different!' So the white isn't so obviously missing.
I thought about the Catherine wheel stitch but I'm not sure I can be arsed cope with it. Wink

Lots of beautiful crochet. I'm very tempted to start a ripple, although I do have about three blankets on the go already.

I've just finished a wreath and a Christmas gift shawl.

Hi all :)

I've picked up the crochet hook again - attempting a giant granny square blanket for my friend and her new baby girl :) If it's successful, will make another for another friend and her impending arrival (another girl) :)

Am using a lovely rainbow type yarn :)

SoupDragon · 05/12/2014 07:04

Sound lovely :)

I am hooking together my mothers Christmas present, making candy canes and a grinch and trying to perfect Olaf's face.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 05/12/2014 17:11

yaaaay, SoupDragon, how lovely to see you back

LollipopViolet · 05/12/2014 19:31

Gah, had trouble with one corner so trying a different type of blanket for now :)

SoupDragon · 05/12/2014 21:29

I haven't been away Wink

I've made 3 of these now. Attic 24 pattern but I had to add a cream border as I didn't make it wide enough for the cushion the first time. Oooopps.

The other 2 I just crocheted one side then sewed it to a fleece back. The DCs loved them Smile

It looks great with a cream border :)

This is my happypotamus - the Heidi Bears pattern. He's going in - well, by - dh's stocking, for Christmas.

He was an absolute mare to assemble (I crocheted the motifs, and then assembled him, rather than crocheting him together as I went, as advised, because that meant I could make the motifs in front of dh and he had no idea I was making something for him - mwah ha ha ha), and I had to unpick quite a lot (great fun, telling what was sewing yarn and what was part if the motifs - and I did damage some).

He still needs eyes and ears, but that will have to wait for a day or two, as dh is on leave today and tomorrow (his mum passed away on Friday), but I am really pleased with him so far!

MissFenella · 08/12/2014 17:04

I have made 7 snowflakes that are now up and sparkling.

Am now producing a blanket for DD2s 'babies'. Doing a ripple effect in baby pinks blues yellows and green - then father christmas will deliver for me.

If you look at the desktop site on your phone, it's easy to add photos. Well, it is on my iPhone anyway :)

I am ploughing through joining all the squares for my mothers Christmas present blanket as well as trying to make candy canes for teachers etc and a grinch for meeee. Chores keep getting in the way though.

champtastic · 09/12/2014 07:55

Oh I love seeing everyone's hooky makes Smile

I have often admired the happypotamus but knew it would be a 'mare to assemble. I only do quick and easy stuff. Looks great though.

SoupDragon · 09/12/2014 08:01

I cant see Shiraz's picture without launching into One night, by the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf...

hennybeans · 09/12/2014 08:09

Another Christmas wreath I finished recently, inspired by Attic24.
I really fancy doing the happypotamus. Every one that I have seen had looked great, but it seems like it would be really difficult to assemble and get looking right. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and try in January.

Another wreath, inspired by repeatcrafterme.com. I've been a bit wreath happy this year.
