Sizzix Swop.

JayzMummysATurkeyStuffer · 18/12/2005 10:59

Just a thought after Christmas shall we have a sizzix die swop???

This is how it would work.

Basically you cut 50 sizzix die cuts that you have and then send them on to me with an SAE.

I will then sort out all the packs and send you die cuts that you dont have.

You would need to email me a list of dies that you have so you dont get duplicates and also a preference of colours that you would like.

I will send out emails to all that are taking part and give a list of colours, dies etc that people are short of.

This will take ages to sort out so bear with me!!!

Can all those who want to take part sign up by 5th Jan (if we get 10 names before this date then the swop will start earlier)

Emails to confirm the dies you have should be

sent to

jayzmummy at yahoo dot co dot uk

by 5th Jan

If anyone wants to take part in this swop, who does not have a sizzix then they are more than welcome, but they would need to send 10 packs of assorted fibres....each pack containing 4, three meter lengths of funky fibres (buy four assorted balls of wool and cut it into 10x 3 metre lengths, so each of the 10 bags would then contain 12 meteres of fibre)Does that make sense????

This swop would be open to the first 10 that join up. You will all recieve back a parcel which will contain an assortment of 50 die cuts and a pack of funky fibres.

All dies/fibres will need to be cut and posted by 20th Jan for the completion of the swop by 27th Jan.

ALPHABETS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SWOP.

So anyone up for it???

Is the addy on a word doc then? Not keen on that either UCM- as you say we don't really know who has access to these things. I think the best thing would be if we had the list of dies on a word document and then contacted via PM or email or something individual members for the cuts. Agree about sending the papers you want cutting.
Regarding posting the dies- I don't want to do that. I got 2 dies in the post today and the postage was £2.50 odd- both ways thats a fiver- the dies dont actually cost much more than that at RC

JayzMummy · 11/01/2006 22:44

Just to clarify....anyone who has taken part in the challenges has sent their email and home addresses for AQ and I to use so we can pass it on to your swoppers.
The addresses are on a word document and only AQ and I have a copy.
If you do not want either of your address's known then how are we supposed to send out your challenge partners/swops etc????

Never been a problem before that the addresses have been shared between us...saves bot AQ and I lots of time asking for them over and over again, but if you want me to delete them then I will.

I would have sent Dingle the revised copy with just your email addresses and then she could have easily sent out the dies list that she is compiling....but hey I dont care....saves me the time and effortbut just means that Dingle will now have to chase you all up and I know she has a lot on her plate atm what with her poor mum being back in hospital.

Pixiefish · 12/01/2006 07:18

That's not what i meant JM. Obviously you and AQ need the addresses . I thought that there was an implication that there existed a document that could be accessed by ANYONE with access to the www. (IYSWIM) I thought it was a document that we could all check for dies and then subsequently addresses. I have no problem with you having my details on your pc nor sharing it with AQ or Dingle

Dingle · 12/01/2006 09:20

I'll post on the future swap thread, but personally I am not really going to need home addresses ATM. AS long as I have email details for everyone that wants to be included. After that it is going to down to all of us as to how the swaps will take place.

JayzMummy · 12/01/2006 09:38

Peckarollover....I have emailed you all the details for sending your fibres.HTH.
Pootlepod....reusing the envelope is fine.

Can all those sending dies/fibres please make sure they are with me by the 20th so I can get this swap over and done with....its probably caused you all more trouble than its worth!

Dingle · 12/01/2006 09:43

Have had the cuts on my list and the extra tags cut and sitting on the side all week! I will sort out a few extras and pop them in the post today JM!

Thanks honey.

UCM · 12/01/2006 09:55

Will run down and post mine today. Sorted them out last night.

anorak · 12/01/2006 10:14

Yes, I've finished cutting mine and will send them today.

Dingle · 12/01/2006 16:46

posted out today JM, I hope I've done everything as I should...got a head like a sieve ATM!My mum should have been operated on again this afternoon so waiting for news!!!

Didn't manage to sort out as much as I wanted to so I only popped in a few extra QK trucks...it was all I had ready. sorry.

Oh yes, JM, I hope I have enclosed enough stamps for return. I attached x2 1st class & x2 2nd class stamps to my "returns label" . They are still on the peelable paper so you can just put on what combination you need...but now I have read back...should that be enough?

anorak · 12/01/2006 17:13

I just posted my diecuts today and it only cost 58p in postage.

Still cutting! Don't worry I am on the case!! Should be completed by the weekend - the deadline was the 20th wasn't it?

kiwibella · 12/01/2006 18:37

yes... will get fibres done and off to you this weekend. I might have missed an instruction (or just can't remember [blush) but what postage should us fibre swappers send to cover the postage. I'm sure that this is a massive logistical operation, JM, and am not surprised that you are looking forward to it being over . It's going to be like Christmas again when all the b&ps arrive!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

JayzMummy · 12/01/2006 22:32

anorak.....it might have only cost 58p to send but it'll cost almost double that for the parcel to be sent back as you will be getting double the weight back....if everyone sends at least 3 first class stamps then it should be enough to cover postage....that includes the fibre swoppers too

anorak · 13/01/2006 08:25

How will it be double the weight coming back?

(sorry I'm probably being thick here. I put plenty of stamps in anyway!)

JayzMummy · 13/01/2006 08:33

Anorak you will be getting more die cuts back that what you have sent and also 4 packets of fibres....hence the package will be bigger and heavier in weight
HTH.
JM

anorak · 13/01/2006 08:37

That sounds wonderful but I still don't understand how I get more back than I sent! Yes with fibres but not die cuts. Where do they come from? I was asked to cut more than I'd asked to received (not that I would complain if I got more).

Thank goodness you're organising this and not me. Sounds like I wouldn't have a clue what to do!

JayzMummy · 13/01/2006 08:56

Anorak,
You asked for 10 of each of the dies you selected, but like you, everyone has cut more than they have requested so therefore you will all get more back....
EG...two people asked for picket fence..the other person asked for just 2/3 cuts of the die...you asked for 10...I asked Dingle to cut 20...so there are spares left over for the fibre swoppers and other die cut swoppers.Everyone has been asked to cut slightly more of each die than requested, so therefore you will get a selection of dies that you havent requested, but they will be different to the dies you already have...just a nice way to get to see some different die cuts that you may not have thought about using before.

I think I know what I am doing and fingers crossed you will all be happy with your parcels when they arrive.

Next time we do this maybe we could do the swap with a theme...the garden = all dies that could be used to make cards with a gardening theme such as flowers, picket fence, tree etc etc...it might work out easier????

I know its been a huge task for some and probably has become a little OTT, but had we stuck to the original plan of having just 10 swoppers, things would have been a lot easier.

Dingle · 13/01/2006 09:27

Oh Goodness, I am such a worry guts!!! JM, didn't think about the fibres, you might not bre able to re-use my padded envelope!! I looked at the dies I had requested and thought, yeah, they will be OK in there!!! When my dies cuts turn up, LMK and if I need to I will send a bigger envelope for you...I should have enough time.

anorak · 13/01/2006 09:29

Ah, that explains it! Now I am really looking forward to seeing what comes back to me!

Blimey JM it's going to be a bit of a task sorting lt all out, isn't it?

I think you should make sure you get plenty of extra diecuts for yourself as a thankyou from everyone.

anorak · 13/01/2006 09:29

Ditto for what Dingle said.

JayzMummy · 13/01/2006 09:31

Dont worry about envelopes not being big enough.....DH has loads in his office and I will be grabbing a few when I go there later today
