Sizzix Swop.

Just a thought after Christmas shall we have a sizzix die swop???

This is how it would work.

Basically you cut 50 sizzix die cuts that you have and then send them on to me with an SAE.

I will then sort out all the packs and send you die cuts that you dont have.

You would need to email me a list of dies that you have so you dont get duplicates and also a preference of colours that you would like.

I will send out emails to all that are taking part and give a list of colours, dies etc that people are short of.

This will take ages to sort out so bear with me!!!

Can all those who want to take part sign up by 5th Jan (if we get 10 names before this date then the swop will start earlier)

Emails to confirm the dies you have should be

sent to

jayzmummy at yahoo dot co dot uk

by 5th Jan

If anyone wants to take part in this swop, who does not have a sizzix then they are more than welcome, but they would need to send 10 packs of assorted fibres....each pack containing 4, three meter lengths of funky fibres (buy four assorted balls of wool and cut it into 10x 3 metre lengths, so each of the 10 bags would then contain 12 meteres of fibre)Does that make sense????

This swop would be open to the first 10 that join up. You will all recieve back a parcel which will contain an assortment of 50 die cuts and a pack of funky fibres.

All dies/fibres will need to be cut and posted by 20th Jan for the completion of the swop by 27th Jan.

ALPHABETS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SWOP.

So anyone up for it???

Well I have had to sack myself from the Lardyclub, hopefully. It was taking far far too much time away from you lot. I havent been able to get involved with discussions that I normally would.

So I want to say A MASSIVE WELL DONE TO JAYZMUMMY & AUNTYQUATED as I tried to walk in your shoes for a week and gave up.

Lesson learnt - never take on more that you can.

I am a mother of a 2 year old who works early mornings, late evenings & nights and my commute to work is 2 hours. I am not superwoman, but JM & AQ are because they are there all of the time. AQ is wicked at running the Yahoo malarky and JM is just there for the swaps, do dahs, everything really - Hip Hip

In answer to my earlier Q, thank you JM

Dingle · 07/01/2006 15:19

Sorry everyone, I've made a mistake. Just looking at the list Champs was to cut and it is the traditional tag combo that was wanted! I only have the scallop tag combo ATM.

Seeing as the only other person to have the trad tags is JM,and she has far too many to do already, I'll cut the scallop ones and perhaps JM can divide them up between whoever wanted them.

Hope that's OK, if not, just share them out.

Thanks for letting me know...will keep an eye out for Mr Postie

UCM · 09/01/2006 16:25

I would like to make a suggestion. When you ask for die cuts, assume that you will get the die cut as is. So if there is a serrated edge, you will still only get 20 of that die cut. Does everyone agree.

JayzMummy · 09/01/2006 16:32

ummmm No UCM...everyone else has cut the extra bits...poor AQ cut loads of Santas Head...thats 80 cuts for 20 heads!!!

Bit late now to change it when everyone wants the dies so they can use them.

We live and learn and I will never do this agian thats for sure

UCM · 09/01/2006 16:39

Sorry I kinow that many people have cut already, I meant for future reference

UCM · 09/01/2006 16:39

I have pretty much used all of my card stock for this.

Dingle · 09/01/2006 17:40

Perhaps the swap was just too big to start us off.
So sorry it's hassle you do not really need ATM JM.

I haven't posted mine yet, spent most of the day on and off the phone re; Amelia and statementing!I've done all the cutting- including the extra tags but I wanted to sort out a few extras to pop in to make up for any shortages.

I will still go ahead with the die list, and keep it up to date monthly. That way any of us who want to do a swap on a smaller scale we still can.

Thanks for all your time JM, it is appreciated.

AuntyQuated · 09/01/2006 18:16

i think i now have the traditional tags as it came with my big shot...can i send these to replace champs'?

Dingle · 09/01/2006 18:22

Well I've cut the amount needed of scallop tags as a substitute but don't know if those who wanted the trad tags already have the scallop!.
You've already posted yours too AQ!

Whizzz · 09/01/2006 19:11

All mine are cut - hope to post out to JM tomorrow

Pixiefish · 09/01/2006 19:13

Posted out today

peckarollover · 09/01/2006 20:32

Im confused

I joined as a late extra and need to send fibres but dont know how many and where to send

I feel awful adding any work to JM can anyone else answer? Dingle?

Dingle · 09/01/2006 20:36

You need to send directly to JM who will distrubute everything, but as to how many Pecka, I'm not sure now. Sorry! JM is around, I am sure she will be along soon to answer your questions.

JayzMummy · 09/01/2006 20:40

Those sending fibres only

I will email you the ammount for postage of the return packages. Fibres need to be sent by the 20th Jan.
Will eamil you all tomorrow night with address etc.

JayzMummy · 09/01/2006 20:42

Fibre swoppers.
You need to send 15 bags each containing 3 meter lengths of 4 different fibres....so each bag will contain 12 meters of fibre in all.

UCM · 10/01/2006 17:52

Apologies to everyone for whinging yesterday. I was having a crap day and I moaned about using so much card stock. I keep forgetting that we are ALL using loads and I will actually get loads in return. Must have sounded really ungrateful, specially to JM.

Whizzz · 10/01/2006 19:28

JM - mine was posted to you today in the same parcel as the other stuff

JM can I just check- are you ok to use the envelope again or do you wish for a return one?
I will be sending mine tomorrow providing he weather allows me to get to the P.O.!

soapbox · 10/01/2006 20:14

Can a newbie make a suggestion for the future????

Why don't you actually swop the dies themselves for a very short defined period of time - a week would make sense.

That way the person receiving the die could cut as many pieces in the card/papers that they like to use as they wish.

Anyone not returning the die by the deadline, is barred from swapping again!

The downside is that you wouldn't get the same variety of cuts in such a short space of time. But over a year, with one swap a month, you would get 12 dies to use and play with!

I realise this might be a non-runner as many of you might not like to lose contact with your dies for a whole week, but it might be a solution, at least for some people to do some private swaps

Whizzz · 10/01/2006 20:39

Good idea but the large ones are quite heavy to post which would add to the cost

UCM · 11/01/2006 19:42

I have cut my dies with loads and loads of different types of card/paper. Some of my prams, for instance are gingham paper, some are pink blue card etc. I am not sure if everyone who wanted a die will like them. So, for future ref: whatever you want, send the materials for it. That way the cutter will be sure that you are getting what you want. Definitely up for a swap though. I will decide what dies I am going to buy after I recieve my cutz.

Also I have no problem with my address being on a word doc as we all know who is real on here.
