Sizzix Swop.

Just a thought after Christmas shall we have a sizzix die swop???

This is how it would work.

Basically you cut 50 sizzix die cuts that you have and then send them on to me with an SAE.

I will then sort out all the packs and send you die cuts that you dont have.

You would need to email me a list of dies that you have so you dont get duplicates and also a preference of colours that you would like.

I will send out emails to all that are taking part and give a list of colours, dies etc that people are short of.

This will take ages to sort out so bear with me!!!

Can all those who want to take part sign up by 5th Jan (if we get 10 names before this date then the swop will start earlier)

Emails to confirm the dies you have should be

sent to

jayzmummy at yahoo dot co dot uk

by 5th Jan

If anyone wants to take part in this swop, who does not have a sizzix then they are more than welcome, but they would need to send 10 packs of assorted fibres....each pack containing 4, three meter lengths of funky fibres (buy four assorted balls of wool and cut it into 10x 3 metre lengths, so each of the 10 bags would then contain 12 meteres of fibre)Does that make sense????

This swop would be open to the first 10 that join up. You will all recieve back a parcel which will contain an assortment of 50 die cuts and a pack of funky fibres.

All dies/fibres will need to be cut and posted by 20th Jan for the completion of the swop by 27th Jan.

ALPHABETS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SWOP.

So anyone up for it???

Whizz there is 40%off....but they dont ship to the UK
Thats how sellers on ebay have such good deals...they buy and have their order sent to a US addy...then their parcel is sent on or they go over to the states...stock up and return with suitcases full of sizzix!!!!!

Anyone going to the states soon this week???

pootlepod · 17/01/2006 22:05

OK I'm finished!! Sorry for the delay! Getting the kitchen done and there isn't an available bit of space left to work at. Anyway done now. Hurray! I shall post them first thing tomorrow. hope I haven't held things up too much!

PS Does anyone know what to do when a die jams in a sidekick? It won't go forward or back and I can't budge it. It was my first play with it (It was a Chrimbo pressie!) I'm gutted!

UCM · 18/01/2006 00:22

If you lift the plastic base, there are two screws that tighten the rollers, could you loosen them and see if that works.

JayzMummy · 18/01/2006 01:24

There have been some problems with the sidekick....a faulty batch???...AQ had a faulty one and my neighbours has just packed up....the dies are getting jammed...take it back to the shop you bought it from....they should exchange it.

hullabaloo · 18/01/2006 18:21

Hi all ! Well I got a new sizzix sidekick today. Tried to prise the bottom off but didn't want to damage it in case I had to take it back. Anyway took it back to the shop today and they were fab replaced the sidekick and the die ( cos it was jammed) so I'm back in business! Thanks for all the advice!
JM posted the die cuts this morning so they should be with you shortly. I've put stamps in which should cover it but if it's not enough let me know.

I am stressed. Can I have some help.

As I said before couldnt get to shop yesterday due to ofsted inspection so went today to get fibres ready to send 1st class today.

When I got to the shop the fibres were 2.75 a meter would have cost over 200 quid for the whole amount??

HELP I cant afford that - where do I get them from?

Im so, so sorry that this is holding things up. I fully expected to walk in choose what I liked and go to post office.

A friend recommended the shop for being reasonably priced too!

Dingle · 19/01/2006 13:00

Your best bet is to go to a wool shop, as in knitting yarns as opposed to "fibres" sold by the meter. That way you can pick up something like this which is a couple of £ for 90 metres.

peckarollover · 19/01/2006 13:38

Thanks Dingle - have located a wool shop so will head there after school pickup and hopefully get to post office in time

champs · 19/01/2006 14:15

OMGosh!! pecca, what shop was that??? was it gold fibres, spun by rapunzel??

as dingle says, your best bet is a wool shop.

shops like pearsons, john lewis and dept stores have some too. or a fabric shop/ haberdashery.

peckarollover · 19/01/2006 14:32

phew, pleased to see that I can get it cheaper - I was starting to think I would be better off buying 5 x sizzix machines and lots of cards for the money i was paying out lol

peckarollover · 19/01/2006 15:58

Am now in possession of some "fluffy" wool. Feel like Ive let everyone down though as there was very little to choose from. Just plain colours.

Hope its ok anyway

peckarollover · 19/01/2006 16:21

Right..............

Have now divided it up (couldnt find measure so have put loads in each one to make sure its more than enough)

Just posted it first class

Also just to say thanks again to JM - You must be up to your eyes in die cuts (you must have a very patient DH!!) Thanks!
