Title says it all really.
Tell me about the lovely things you have been making, any craft. Pictures/Ravelry links would be great.
I like to crochet but I've found myself in a bit of a rut and want to be inspired and find some motivation to make something, even if its a totally different craft.

I'm learning sock puppetry swapping between names

(not quite as funny when you don't format properly is it?!)

I have made nothing. Nothing! Am getting withdrawal symptoms.

stitchthis · 02/08/2011 07:40

I've got some new lovely varigated yarn, a silk and Blush acrylic blend (photo here ) any ideas?! Having read this thread I've realised I have to accept my inability to finish. So what can I start instead ?!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 03/08/2011 12:31

Ohhh that is a lovely yarn - where did you get it from, stitchthis, and does it come in other colours? I'm crocheting a poncho at the moment - teaching myself to crochet as I go, and adding a few rounds of each new thing I learn, in lots of bright colours and interesting yarns (I will try to post a picture of it on my profile a bit later - but I really ought to be cleaning the house as my mum arrives tomorrow -erk). I'm really proud of my poncho, and am looking forward to wearing it - but the dses have forbidden me to wear it in public! Sad

stitchthis · 03/08/2011 12:33

its called King Cle Riot - its acrylic and wool, not silk as I thought originally. Oh, its so soft too. Cheap about £3.20 a ball too! I got it in Wales while on holiday but I'm sure you could get it in most KC retailers...looking fwd to the poncho pics!

stitchthis · 03/08/2011 12:34

sorry, I meant King Cole...

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 03/08/2011 12:37

And I am also horribly tempted to spend £54 I don't have on cashmere/silk dk which is 55% off in the sale at Black Sheep Wools!!! I have more yarn that I know what to do with, but this is such a bargain!! What can I say to convince dh to let me buy it now? My birthday isn't 'til December.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 03/08/2011 12:38

Thanks stitchthis - I shall go in search.

stitchthis · 03/08/2011 19:09

Sell some of your excess stash. Or say you will. Wink

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 03/08/2011 19:16

Ohhh I like that, stitchthis - you are a woman after my own heart. I shall bat my eyelashes at dh when he gets home, and see how far that gets me. Sadly he doesn't drink, so I can't get him pissed and take advantage of him whilst he is in a weakened state - lol!

stitchthis · 03/08/2011 21:01

No, I can see how that would be tricky...alcohol is my favourite lever of choice it has to be said

Bumperlicious · 03/08/2011 22:07

Oh you buggers! I studiously ignored the Black Sheep email in my inbox but now you've linked it I've on and spend £40 £30 on yarn!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 03/08/2011 22:53

I asked dh and he said No, so I can't buy any yarn at all. Sad What are the chances that they will have a good sale on in December, for my birthday?

Oh - and sorry, Bumper. What are you going to knit?

stitchthis · 04/08/2011 06:52

Get all your stash out and reassess. I bet there's some there you've completely forgotten about. Then either eBay it or pretend you've just bought it and make something fabulous just for you. December too far away, you need a yarn fix now!!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 04/08/2011 09:40

It's OK - I used my womanly wiles on dh and got him to agree that I could buy the yarn, and it will be deducted from the next 7 weeks of my allowance. I have just ordered 25 balls of the rhubarb shade of merino/silk mix, and I am going to knit the most beautiful cardigan I have ever made.

(Note to self - dh is really easy to bribe Grin)

DillyTante · 05/08/2011 18:21

I made a really easy embroidery hoop chalk board

SDTG (It's B u m p e r btw), I bought miscellaneous yarn. I don't knit, I crochet. I think I bought some cottons to make some little baby balls, some cream wool to make a blanket for my mum's partner and some sublime extra fine merino for the blanket for my bed, to go with the rest of the yarn I've been stashing for it for about 2 years! Oh and ball of the lovely Noro, probably to make fingerless gloves.

DillyTante · 05/08/2011 18:22

Just seen that you bought the merino too, it's lovely, especially that shade :). 25 balls though? That's a lotta knitting!

NatNatcherry · 06/08/2011 10:39

I just made this dress from a vest and some jersey tubing sweet-seams.blogspot.com/2011/08/armani-inspired.html.

It is inspired by an armani one I saw in a magazine, and was ridiculously easy to make x

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 06/08/2011 11:54

It is a lot of knitting, Dilly - you are right - but then there is quite a lot of me for it to cover!! I'm going to knit this cardigan.

stitchthis · 07/08/2011 20:51

Oooo yr a proper knitter

SybilBeddows · 07/08/2011 21:00

I finished a quilt recently, pics on profile.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 08/08/2011 16:35

That quilt is so beautiful, Sybil. And perhaps you'd better wait until I've actually finished the cardigan before you call me a proper knitter, stitchthis. Blush

SybilBeddows · 08/08/2011 20:43

thanks SDTG!

btw when a man came to survey our roof for solar panels the other week he looked EXACTLY like David Tennant, in fact it may have been him working undercover. If a spaceship lands on our roof now I will not be surprised. I did look to see if he had a sonic screwdriver though and I couldn't see one.
