Welcome to the newest thread of support for those ladies who are pregnant or trying to conceive after terminating for abnormalities. Since this thread first began (almost ten years ago!) there have been stories of heart break, sadness and fear, but from these stories there have also been stories of happiness, success and most importantly, hope.

Hopefully brown discharge is nothing to worry about @Kiki275, thankfully your scan is tomorrow. Hope you see a happy little peanut 🤞🏼

I'm sorry for your loss @URMysunshine4. I too had a tfmr for T18 (at 16w in august). I would echo SusanSue's sensible words. I think telling those around you can certainly help and you can keep it short and sweet with those at work. Most people do have the sense not to probe further and as Kiki says most as caught up in their own lives. I did however find some amazing support from unexpected people and was grateful for their kindness and positivity.
Definitely utilise this space to share how you feel, i find it comforting.

I had my scan at fetal medicine today and it was so difficult going back there again but the midwife was amazing and we were able to see a beautiful little blob wriggle around 🙏
They have also taken blood for the NIPT so the anxious wait for the results begins.

MummyBearBoo · 12/01/2021 23:32

They say only to worry if you have bright red blood I had brown discharge a couple of times but everything was fine xx

Alice40p · 13/01/2021 07:30

I had brown spotting in my tfmr pregnancy and they said it is perfectly normal to have it and that it is unrelated to tfmr.🤞 for your scan today..

Alice40p · 13/01/2021 07:32

@SusanSue thanks for the info Smile

Mummabear40 · 13/01/2021 08:58

@kiki275 I hope your scan goes well today, will be thinking of you.

@Dia12 glad you’ve had your scan and NIPT, my next scan and NIPT is next week and I can’t wait to get to that milestone.

So sorry to see more ladies join this group, it’s truly heartbreaking to see how many of us are affected.

@URMysunshine4 I also made a list of those we’d told and messaged them whatever version of what happened I wanted them to know. From we’ve lost the baby to what actually happened depending on the relationship. Like @kiki275 I can now loudly and regularly say my story, it does get easier I promise.

Kiki275 · 13/01/2021 09:11

Thanks everyone. Just waiting to go in. Logically in my head I know it's nothing. Had proper bleeds throughout my twin pregnancy too, which were harmless enough. It's just hard not to worry x

Good luck @kiki xxx

AlexaPlayWhiteNoise · 13/01/2021 09:37

Fingers crossed for you kiki x

Unicorn1997 · 13/01/2021 10:01

Good luck @kiki275

Just wanted to let you all know I got my amino results back and baby has normal chromosomes! Just a tertralogy of fallot to deal with which we can cope with. I’m so happy. Thank you all for your kind words and luck! X

Kiki275 · 13/01/2021 10:18

@Unicorn1997 that's wonderful news. Im sure they'll take great care of you both. How are you feeling about the Tetralogy? x

Reassurance scan went well. ONE healthy little flea all present and correct, dated slightly ahead at 8&3, no obvious blood pools. Can relax a little now until the 12 week scan.x

Mummabear40 · 13/01/2021 10:25

@kiki275 fabulous news, now you can definitely relax a little.

@Unicorn1997 this is great news! I don’t know anything about tertralogy, is this manageable?

Dia12 · 13/01/2021 10:35

Great news for you both @Kiki275 and @Unicorn1997, hoping you can both start enjoying your pregnancies 💐

Unicorn1997 · 13/01/2021 10:37

@kiki275 I’m so glad your scan went well!

To be honest I can cope with tetralogy, it’s going to be shit him having heart surgery but they’ve said it’s manageable and I have two friends who’ve got it funnily enough. I think I’ll just be that very overprotective mum saying no drinking no smoking lol and stay home wrapped up in bubble wrap! X

Unicorn1997 · 13/01/2021 10:39

They are hoping only one open heart surgery around 4-6months then another surgery at around 20 years old as sometimes they get ‘a leaky valve’. So fingers crossed everything will be positive from now on x

Mummabear40 · 13/01/2021 11:21

@Unicorn1997 I’m really happy for you and happy you do not have to go through it all again, you must be so relieved.

Kiki275 · 13/01/2021 11:30

@Unicorn1997 that must be worrying in itself but I suppose it's different when it's a known problem. It's a fixable problem. With a lot of the syndromes, they could be anywhere on a spectrum and there's no way of knowing where. Huge hugs from from me anyway xx

Unicorn1997 · 13/01/2021 13:55

Thank you everyone! We are so relieved. Feels crazy saying I’m so glad my child only has a heart condition!

Alice40p · 13/01/2021 14:16

@kiki275 great news on your scan!
@Unicorn1997 that’s wonderful news! What a great relief! It must be reassuring if you have friends who have had the same condition.

Mummabear40 · 13/01/2021 14:49

@Unicorn1997 I was actually going to say, it just shows what absolute shit we’ve all gone through that your baby ‘only’ having this heart condition is a relief. But great you know people with this condition as that’ll definitely help.

NoCallerID · 13/01/2021 15:22

@Kiki275 so happy for you!!!

I've had my biopsy results yesterday - I have indeed tested positive for chronic endometrisis... So I'm off to the hospital later to collect my tablets to start taking them with my next period, fingers crossed they are the real deal and not the placebo. Although I had expected it, it hit me quite hard yesterday....

Holly341 · 13/01/2021 15:50

@Unicorn1997 That's great news that the amnio was ok. You must be exhausted after all that waiting and worrying. It's good you know people with the tetralogy of fallot and what to expect.

@kiki275 Glad the scan went well and you can relax a little.

@SusanSue Has your period arrived yet? I felt better after it, I feel like my body is a bit closer to normal.

Mummabear40 · 13/01/2021 15:55

@NoCallerID I’m so glad you have an answer, even though it’s crap, you finally have an answer! I hope you’ve got the non placebo 🤞🏻

URMysunshine4 · 13/01/2021 18:35

Thank you all, so I glad I found this thread.

Great news re the amino @Unicorn1997, you must be so tired after the wait.

Glad your scan went well @kiki275, hope your spotting tapers off.

Glad your scan also went well @Dia12 and you had a good midwife to help you. Fingers crossed for your NIPT results

Redhead43 · 14/01/2021 09:53

Hi ladies, 19 weeks today and my next scan with the consultant is Tuesday.

@Dia12 glad everything went well with your scan, hope the wait for the nipt isn’t too long have they said how long it will take? Xx

@kiki275 so pleased your scan went well aswel and that you have ONE as I know you were anxious to be having multiple again. 8&3 so exciting! Roll on 12 weeks! Xx

@Unicorn1997 so so so pleased you got the results you wanted from the amino and the dreaded wait is over for you. It’s reassuring you know ppl with the condition and obviously know what it entails. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is smooth now. Do you have to have any extra care? Xx

@NoCallerID finally you have some answers. I’m so relieved for you. After all you’ve been through and the fighting to get answers which should never of been this hard for you. Keep us updated! Xxx

Dia12 · 14/01/2021 10:12

Thank you everyone. It is such a relief and I'm going to try to hang on this feeling of calm as long as I can.
The NIPT results should be back in 10-14 days 🙈

I'm so pleased your 20w scan is around the corner, it's another big milestone. I hope it all goes well and you get a lovely pic of your baby girl 💕 Are you starting to show yet? Is second trimester as blissful as they say?

It's a lot to take in, you can never really be prepared to hear news like that. I do hope it enables you to now to navigate around it. Anything's better than taking chances in the dark. xx
