Sending my best wishes @shootingstar2020 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Mangoandbroccoli · 15/04/2020 08:01

I'm so sorry to hear that @ShootingStar2020, that must be so incredibly stressful on top of everything xx

Just to update and hopefully offer a little hope, I finally got my SAFE test results yesterday and they've come back as less that 1 in 1,000,000 for al three trisomies 🥰

Kate544 · 15/04/2020 08:42

@Mangoandbroccoli that is amazing! So pleased for you. So grateful to everyone who keeps on sharing their stories of hope.

@ShootingStar2020 - so sorry to hear of your mil. Sending strength.

BooMamaBear · 15/04/2020 09:51

@Mangoandbroccoli -that's fantastic news so pleased for you after all the waiting!! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 15/04/2020 10:35

Brilliant news @Mangoandbroccoli!! 😁🥳

I'm 15 weeks today 😮 Feels very surreal.

Hey ladies,

I've been following this thread though have had a few bad weeks...

Congratulations on all the new BFPs and good test results! It's such a relief seeing this.
And very sorry that some haven't had the outcome we were all hoping for.

I'm 6.5 weeks post TMFR now, my pregnancy tests still show positive and I'm still bleeding a lot with clots and pain so off for another scan today. I just want it to be over with and start again...

BooMamaBear · 15/04/2020 13:17

Welcome @NoCallerID sorry you find yourself here tho! I had a similar experience to you after my first TFMR it took ages for my HCG levels to go down but the hospital eventually did a blood test and saw they are dropping and eventually I got a negative test!

Two days after my bleeding stopped I started having one huge bleed a day but then nothing until 24 hours later -too big to be contained by two maternity pads after 2 weeks I went to the hospital the male Dr told me I was wasting his time as I wasn't a priority and I was just having a period and to go home - he knew I didn't believe him with periods you bleed all day -after another 2 weeks I was m passing huge clots and heavy bleeding once a day I started to pass out after waiting 5 hours in A&E seeing no-one I was sent up to a ward with that same DR who again told me there was nothing wrong! Eventually he got my blood results and finally realised that the oxygen in my Blood was half what it should be and that I'd need emergency blood transfusions and surgery! They found I had a really rare condition called AVM -it's so rare there are hardly any studies on it!

If you're concerned with the bleeding you're experiencing get it checked out and don't let them fob you off! If the Dr had done a blood test the first time I saw him I wouldn't have need a week in hospital or a blood transfusion!!

NoCallerID · 15/04/2020 15:33

@BooMamaBear gosh that sounds awful, I'm sorry you had to go through this on top of everything else.
I've just had my scan and am waiting to speak to a consultant to make a decision. D&C was mentioned, she thinks there might be self re-producing tissue (I didn't quite catch the medical term). She was lovely and said 'it holds you back emotionally doesn't it...' bless her...

BooMamaBear · 15/04/2020 16:01

I hope it all gets sorted soon for you!! Xxx

Mangoandbroccoli · 16/04/2020 09:34

Thanks everyone!

Sorry you're going through this @NoCallerID and fingers crossed for you. I had the same experience and bled everyday and had clots for 12 weeks following medical management and ended up having a d&c for a piece of retained placenta at that point. The procedure and recovery from there was really quick and simple so hopefully that'll help you to move forward and I'm glad they're taking things seriously.

Treaclepie19 · 16/04/2020 09:54

@NoCallerID I'm so sorry you're going through this :( I hope they can get it all sorted and you can get chance to physically recover xxx

@Mangoandbroccoli what lovely news 😊

@ShootingStar2020 sorry to hear about your MIL, it must be so stressful. Wishing her a speedy recovery x

@NoCallerID so sorry you're having such a hard recovery 😢 I hope they can help you today x

NoCallerID · 16/04/2020 11:14

Thanks all. ❤️

I'm having a vacuum aspiration on Saturday, on the ward. If they don't get everything out they will transfer me straight to theatre for D&C. They would normally do D&C straight away but due to covid they won't do general anaesthetics unless really needed.
Also no gas & air in the whole hospital (apparently this is a higher covid risk than GA!)

Thank you so much @Mangoandbroccoli, that's very reassuring to hear. They gave me the option to wait it out but I can't deal with it any longer...

BooMamaBear · 17/04/2020 12:35

When I had retained product after my daughter I had surgery under a spinal block (there's a few GA's I can't have) would that be safer? Xx

NoCallerID · 17/04/2020 13:19

@BooMamaBear I think the main reasoning is to try and keep the needed personell at a minimum. I think for a spinal you still need an anaesthesiologist? I'm sure it'll be fine.

ShootingStar2020 · 17/04/2020 13:39

@NoCallerID - good luck with it. You sound very calm which is amazing.

@Mangoandbroccoli - have been thinking of you!! After all that wait, what a fantastic result. Congratulations. Hope you feel more relaxed and connected to the bub.

8+5 here. Have booking appointment and Harmony test in 2 weeks. Feeling very sanguine due to COVID and MIL. She is now on a ventilator and no change. Staying super positive as don’t want to start thinking the worst.

Happy Friyay! Xxx

Balajake · 17/04/2020 22:22

Hope everything is ok and everyone well

@NoCallerID sending you massive hugs. Sorry you are still getting positive tests. That must hurt a lot . Mine were negative after a few days and that was also sad.

I got my first period yesterday. All the cramps but a very light flow which is unusual for me. Maybe because if the D&E ?
My brother called tonight to announce the birth of his daughter . We don’t speak often but we were really close once. His partner was due in mid June but she’s been hospitalized with high blood pressure for two weeks then went in labour yesterday at only 31 weeks. She’s only 3lb 4 but doing so well, only on fluids, no oxygen or cpap. She’ll be in Nicu for a while but he sent photos and she’s absolutely gorgeous. I didn’t tell him of our loss because he’s got all this joy and excitement but also this is going to be a tough time as my last baby was born at 32 so know exactly what he’s going through. Just so happy for him and his partner

elcie1980 · 17/04/2020 23:37

Hi all
I hope you are all still well and safe... so this week my partner and I decided to have a private consultation (where we had our NIPTY test). So the consultant wasn’t overly worried about no period since TFMR. I have been prescribed progesterone to kick start my body. Fingers crossed that this is my solution.

Kiki275 · 18/04/2020 11:10

@Balajake I think my first period following Tmfr has started today. It's not a good feeling, sort of like your body saying "time to get over it and get on" but then I'm also one step closer to TTC again.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your little niece. It must be really tough for your brother and his partner in this lockdown x

Grassisgreener99 · 18/04/2020 11:53

@Kiki275 same here, first period and I just want to mope in a dark room. I am trying to think positively that it means one step closure to trying again and my body settling down a little. We just have the post-mortem results to go first and still don’t have a date for that yet.

@Balajake I hope your niece is doing ok

Sending thoughts to everyone!

Balajake · 18/04/2020 13:49

@Kiki275 are you going to try this month or wait ? I’m getting right back to trying as I’m 40 now and time isn’t on my side.

@Grassisgreener99 I’m sorry for your loss 💕 this period started quite light but really crampy and it’s now medium to heavy as per my normal cycle. I’m classing this as CD3 and usually ovulate CD14

Yes my niece is doing really well. She’s on the light therapy for jaundice today but that’s pretty normal for her gestation

BooMamaBear · 18/04/2020 20:10

You do still need an anaesthetist to give the spinal but you don't need monitoring by the anaesthetist once they've issued it as you do with a GA coz you're awake -with a GA they need to stay there til the op is done? Xx

Kiki275 · 19/04/2020 07:49

I think I'm going to wait a few cycles. Not even sure if this a period of if my lochia have restarted. I had laser surgery on my placenta just before loosing the boys and still have the stitches in, plus several episodes of bleeding from 12 weeks onwards so need a smear 6 weeks post tmfr. The latter especially is my main reason for waiting. Also, I need to shift some weight ☹️ x

Kiki275 · 19/04/2020 07:52

@Balajake go for it! If you're mentally ready then taking advantage of the post birth fertility is a good idea (in my mind anyway) x

Balajake · 19/04/2020 08:16

@Kiki275 yeah I think you know what you are mentally ready. I know you aren’t physically ready but I’m here when you are, we’re all here to support you ❤️ It could take me a while or no time at all but after losing my little girl I just can’t give up now.
