DP has "gone hiking in a national park with a colleague for the weekend" after a conference. The national park is rather remote, and the accommodation apparently doesn't have wifi. So I accepted that there would be no contact from Friday morning until they returned to the airport Monday night.

Except Google's wondrous data-dribbling abilities have just informed me (via a GPS-driven automatic facebook update of the colleague) that the colleague returned to London on Friday.

I was already a bit about the lack of wifi meaning no contact because of mega-expensive overseas data download costs, since surely a computer geek and his colleague know how to stop their googlephones automatically syncing diaries etc when they turn the phone on to send a text?

Email and text haven't been answered. DP's phone is clearly in the USA.

i guess I should resist temptation to ring up the colleague and ask what the hell is going on?

Earlybird · 05/07/2010 14:21

I wonder if she's ok or if she wants this thread to fall off 'active' and so isn't responding.

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 05/07/2010 14:25

Still no news?

Tortoise I'm really hoping everything's fine and you're just busy with RL at the moment. I hope he had an explanation and it was all just a big mistake. Fingers crossed for you still.

elmofan · 05/07/2010 14:30

Hope everything is sorted now tortoise x

solo · 05/07/2010 16:58

But surely if she wanted to 'shut us up', she'd just tell us that she couldn't talk or that she's Ok and couldn't talk? I'm worried too.

NormaSknockers · 05/07/2010 17:11

Still no word from OP? Not looking too good is it?

I'm a completely different poster, by the way, yes.

And a curious one, at that.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 07/07/2010 01:38

Don't think she's coming back...

AlbertaWildRose · 07/07/2010 03:51

Bump.

HettiesMum · 07/07/2010 09:07

Bit of a wind-up I think ?

AlCrowley · 07/07/2010 16:45

Looking that way.

OP has only ever appeared on 2 threads - this one and the one she suggested she was going to start on here about her mother being a bigot.

Lulabel27 · 07/07/2010 18:06

I'm confused she didn't sound like a wind up it was a very intricate story? I've been reading from the beginning (not posted) and very intrigued

secunda · 07/07/2010 18:10

If it is a wind up, she's a genius. Look how intrigued everyone is...

AlCrowley · 07/07/2010 20:04

I hope it's not a wind up. Not because I want the Op to be heartbroken but because if it is, I was completely suckered
