CheerfulYank · 26/07/2010 19:47

Hi Roo! I'm good, I took DS and a few friends to the park. They played while I lay on my blanket in the shade with my new romance novel book of, erm, philosophy essays.

YANBU tea! He's just little FHS. Am irritated on your behalf!

Have a goood day ladies!

CheerfulYank · 26/07/2010 19:47

Aww thanx you, i will mail you, if thats ok.

i hope you are ok, and everyone else?

CheerfulYank · 28/07/2010 17:54

For heaven's sake, tea. I grew up with a very anti-swearing mother so things like this pop out of my mouth-and out of my typing fingers apparently-from time to time

What's going on tiredmum? None of my business of course, but if you want to message me about it on FB or anything do feel free!

So, this is a little but... yesterday DS came into our room at about 3 in the morning and asked me why I got "hurt on the road". I told him I didn't and I was fine. Later that day he said, "Mommy, you got smushed in Daddy's car." Now, it was probably just a dream and all, but it seriously freaked me out for a little bit. Tell me I'm being ridiculous, won't you?!

gomummy · 28/07/2010 18:14

Tiredmum you've got mail!

I'm glad Tea asked, Cheerful, I was wondering about FHS too! I also grew up with a v. anti-swearing mother (where on earth did I get it? lol) so I'm surprised I didn't figure it out. Spent years of my childhood thinking "shhhh-ugar!" had to be a bad thing...

I'd actually be freaked out by that too. DS said something about a month ago that upset me like that and has continued to insist it is the case, although he is saying it less now. I know it's silly but I am quite bothered by it; mentioned it to DH and he said he'd been bothered by it too, just hadn't wanted to upset me! I know they're just dreams of course, but still a bit bothered by it...so understand how you feel.

CheerfulYank · 28/07/2010 18:37

I knew you'd have had a similar experience gomummy...our lives continue on their eerily similar paths!

gomummy · 28/07/2010 21:09

It is odd, isn't it Cheerful! I do hope your DS stops reminding you of that sooner than mine has though. It has been about a month and he still says it every day, he is so convinced.

Tiredmumno1 · 28/07/2010 22:16

Ta cheerful i shall hopefully go on fb tomoz, its so hard to get on here that much now its the holidays

CheerfulYank · 29/07/2010 01:34

I'm the same way gomummy...Saturday is my day to sleep in so I get excited that I get to stay up all night cleaning and scrubbing things and folding laundry whilst watching DVDs on Friday...yes, a very sad individual indeed!

Hopeful is always good tired!

gomummy · 29/07/2010 01:57

Cheerful that DNA strand runs deep! Going to have to suggest that Saturday idea to DH, I haven't had one of those mornings since before DS was born! Plus, I would quite love to stay up all night cleaning and scrubbing things....sad...sad...getting sadder...

spannah1 · 31/07/2010 23:18

Tiredmumno1 · 31/07/2010 23:58

Greetings spannah,

and helloooo j, you know you are missed , glad your keeping an eye on us haha.

bloody pissheads

CheerfulYank · 01/08/2010 18:36

MMmmm, fruit cider sounds lurvely. Hi J!

I have a headache from being on the computer all night last night. I don't have internet at my house so when I get the chance (I had a sleepover w/my best friend ) I'm on it as much as possible. I was on the Reece's Rainbow site-it matches SN children born in other countries with American families. Most of the kids have Down Syndrome, and in their countries they are sent to institutions to live out their lives. Apparently the waiting list to adopt kids w/DS is hundreds of people long, but most women in the US don't continue the pregnancy when they find out their baby has DS, so...

It's just so sad! I have a cousin with Down Syndrome and another with Cerebral Palsy and they are happy and have really full lives. To think what they'd go through if they'd been born somewhere else makes me cry. It gave me a stirring of patriotism, I'll tell you that!

So...sorry for that long rant, I was just really touched by the whole thing. When I get home I will inform DH that is where we'll be getting at least one of our children.

What's new with everyone else? You must be feeling better tiredmum?

It is pathetic, gomummy, but I love it! A whole night to stay up folding laundry and scrubbing faucets and organizing! (Have just placed myself firmly in the not cool camp, haven't I?) Glad I'm not alone on this.

Tiredmumno1 · 01/08/2010 19:28

Feeling a bit better thanks cheerful.

gotta put kids to bed and tidy up, hopefully be back in a while

gomummy · 02/08/2010 13:10

Oh yes Cheerful, cool is only a distant memory, lol! But I'm totally ok with that as I'm very happy in my Monica-esque style.

gomummy · 03/08/2010 23:13

Think we need a good quiz to revitalize the bench tomorrow. Except I'd be terrible at creating a quiz. Anyone?

CheerfulYank · 04/08/2010 02:15

I will think about it and get back. We do need a quiz or a good crisis or something.
