I am so cross!

I started teh "i fucking hate my fucking cunting electric oven" in a rage

YES it was ott, but hell, I was very angry.

The "cunting" has been taken out of hte thread title. I wasn't asked, or informed.

Cunting sainsburys was NEVER censored.

"nothing tastes as good...." =- op was asked to change title, she refused, title stayed.

WHY is it ok to change MY thread title withotu even asking me? Or informing me?

I'm really annoyed and was giong ot de-reg in a fit of pique but thought I'd better count to 100 first

but I am very and DISAPPOINTED HQ

so why have others been asked?

OP posts:
HerBeatitude · 06/06/2010 14:02

Why did thtey take cunting out?

I thought cunting was a good mumsnet word, it keeps the huns at bay.

Lulumaam · 06/06/2010 14:02

I can see why you are cross, especially after c*ing sainsburys, was elevated to near mythical MN status

ask MNHQ what's going on...

MamaG · 06/06/2010 14:02

they removed cunting but left in two fuckings

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/06/2010 14:03

If someone complained why would they mind cunting, but not fucking?

I think those two swear words are on a par.

If one of the reasons for censorship is that a child may be looking over a parents shoulder (a crap reason imo), then there shouldn't be either word.

I however don't think either of the words should be censored. It's an adults forum and adults swear.

Adair · 06/06/2010 14:03

I think we gathered you were in a rage. Does it really matter that a word is missed out? MN owns all the content on here anyway (isn't that in the T&C?)

Anyway, all this and swearing is getting a bit tedious. Making you sound a bit pathetic tbh. Especially the strop flouncing.

Why not start a calm thread on whether content ought to be edited on MN or not?

coderrooo · 06/06/2010 14:03

i dont like cunt in titles full stop

MamaG · 06/06/2010 14:03

thing is, if they'd have said "look folk are offended"

Iwould have said "fine, take it out"

OP posts:
FabIsGoingToGetFit · 06/06/2010 14:03

MamaG - quite right that it is deleted tbh. Swear in threads but titles should be kept clean.

MamaG · 06/06/2010 14:04

because I'm feeling stroppy adair

When I'm calm and collected I will befi ne

it's just the bloody double standard that's pissed me off

OP posts:
belgo · 06/06/2010 14:05

It does surprise me that so many title expressing violent intentions are uncensored but swearing is censored at random.

toccatanfudge · 06/06/2010 14:05

Cunting Halifax stayed too last year.........

and cunting royal mail stayed

and yes cunting Sainsbury's was put into classics..............

HerBeatitude · 06/06/2010 14:05

if fucking is allowed, why not cunting?

coderrooo · 06/06/2010 14:05

ooh get you

MamaG · 06/06/2010 14:05

oh God I'm taking this far too seriously

im am orf back to RL

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 06/06/2010 14:06

Don't know why they didn't ask you first - perhaps they are getting a bit more heavyhanded?

you need to chill

HecateQueenOfWitches · 06/06/2010 14:09

I agree. It should be one consistant rule. Not heads it stays tails it goes.

Personally, I'd be quite happy if the consistant rule was no obscenities in titles. MNers are eloquent and creative enough to be able to express themselves without profanities. [cats bum mouth]

ant3nna · 06/06/2010 14:10

I think that we should be given clear guidelines of what is acceptable. None of this invisible line nonsense that is MNHQ's current policy. Why is cunt any worse than fuck?

I think MNHQ need to draw up a better swearing policy so we know exactly where we stand.

toccatanfudge · 06/06/2010 14:10

belgo - I agree with your post. I find ones, even "joking" ones about acts of violence too much to see and hide them, don't even read the OP.

Swearing, - meh

Adair · 06/06/2010 14:10

X-post MamaG, cos you seem to have calmed down a bit anyway. maybe you need some of the anger management techniques I have learnt (from a fab course I went on)?

  1. stop! look at the bigger picture
  2. it's ok to have a different opinion
  3. use your support network
  4. journal (which i guess this could be seen as) 5)listen
  5. don't take it personally.

MN HQ prob didn't think it was that important to tell you or realise you'd be this offended. I doubt they were trying to be heavy-handed.

Anywya, agree with RL - shall join you (well not... ) there!!
