Background, XH is a KNOB of the first order, he's said a load of crap, behaved pretty shitty to me.

So, one of his more charming comments was that I'd never find anyone else.

And I've got a new bloke who is lovely.

All his family go to this wee local town every Sunday night - think getting dressed up and cruising round in cars, cars which must be spotless. Its snob central, judgy pants heaven.

And the new bloke drives an Aston Martin Vantage V12.

So, AIBU? We wouldn't need to get out of the car or speak to them, just be seen...

thing is foureleven - going cruising at this joint is something they'd both do (individually) even with a "lesser" car.....in fact OP is off there tonight on her own in her souped up car.

and so what if he dumped her. We're both enjoying going on dates for the now, not looking too far ahead, just enjoying what's happening right now.If it lasts, great, if not - we'll have had fun doing stuff that we enjoy with someone else that enjoys the same stuff.

oh god I know, WE dont give a shit if he 'dumps' her and neither should she, yours and her attitude is right. I was saying that is likely to be what the ex inlaws would say and she clearly cares about what they think/say so I thought it was worth thinking about in case things dont last with this new man..

If theyre going anyway then whatever... the OP sounded like she was suggesting that it would be a good thing to go their as ex inlaws would see that she has moved on etc etc and had this fabulous new man.

Went last night in my own car, with my girls.

Had a fab time, met loads of people I knew, including the new bloke, girls got spin in his car which DD1 in particular adored, she now has a photo of herself in the drivers seat.

one of those totally unpredictable reactions I have sometimes to stuff - hence the reason I felt I had to tell mrfancysatnav about it all.

Tocc - I get that. I my case its touchy stuff, poor mr shagman got it rough over that.
