It's up to the person, I think (and I know I'll get stoned for this but it's MY OPINION) woman 'can' look common with them, but so can some men.

In saying that my DP has two which dont make him look common (IMO) and he and I want to get one that basically say I am his (which I think is common but I dont care because I am his).

If it makes them happy to get them, why not? It's their body afterall.

Wrinkles are natural, tatoos are not. All very sad really.

I have a little one on my foot - I love it! DH hates it - he said "what about when you are old", so I told him "old people wear socks"

I'd have loads if it was up to me, but we have a rule that we have to agree on the spending money in the house. So, I'll probably not have any more. Besides, all the money we get at the moment is better spent elsewhere than on tattoos.

I love them though.

Unfortunately for those of us who are glamorous alternative ladies, with cool, edgy, beautiful tattoos, having someone scrawl your granddaughter's name across your bum in ambigrams has become a mainstream pursuit in recent years.

Bastards. Why couldn't the chavs have left tattoos to those of us who know how to do them properly, eh.

Seriously, though. If someone sees my tattoo & decides that I'm 'common', whatever that might mean, then as far as I'm concerned that person simply has different taste to me, which is fine; but also has a tendency to make ill-informed superficial judgments, which I'm not going to take terribly seriously.
