I'm planning on getting my first colour tattoo soon(ish), I know what I want but not where I want it. Any ideas? It's going to be Mallow flowers (personal meaning to me), 2 to begin with, but with the aim of getting more.

Yes, YABU. I am not commmon, or chavvy, or a slut or any of the other things people judge women with tattoos to be. Nor will i look "desperate" when I am older OP! (and am not quite sure why a tattoo would make me look desperate actually?)

Kaloki, don't go for the palm and up the wrist! I did that, I swear was worse than child birth. What about on the back of your neck, going down your spine eventually?

What exactly determines someone is 'common?'

If you are well educated, successful, have a loving family and are happy but have a tattoo, are you common??????

My husband and I are:

• university educated
• have 2 homes
• have our own business
• have a very happy marriage
• have one wonderful daughter.

I have 2 small tattoos which people will never see in everyday life.

There is a lot more to being 'common' than a tattoo.... But, yes people are often surprised when they find out I have 2 tattoos.

sheseversofamous I've already got both wrists done, so couldn't anyway. Thinking about my spine.. however I like seeing my tattoos. I've already got one on my shoulder, and it drives me nuts that I can't see it. It's the only one I "regret", though it's only the placement that I regret.

I know what you mean, Kaloki; I have one on my wrist, and one on my foot...I placed them there so that they would be hideable when I need them to be, but on display for the most part. I don't necessarily want them to be hidden all the time...I like looking at them!

My are in random places and no obvious connection between them. TBH i like them like that means they are more personal to me and with the designs of my current tattoos I know what they mean but other people dont necessarily unless i tell them.

Mine are kind of like that, shelleylou. They have no obvious connection to each other, but they are connected to me, so I don't really see them as 'stamps'.

All this talk has renewed my plans to get a wrist tattoo. Am still working out the what words to have and which wrist...Maybe the words, "Don't judge"

I feel exactly the same Shelleylou, my tattoos are for myself not anyone else.

I have 3 - only 1 you can see when I a dressed a small flower on my wrist and believe me lady I am not common but you are OLD!

Hmm... no I'm not common thanks - each of my tattoos/piercings have a meaning for me just like each of the scars on my body but to look at me you can't really see any of them.

Do you watch Jeremy Vile? Occasionally to remind myself how lucky I am

Do you live in a council flat / house? No but I grew up in one - wtf has that got to do with anything?

Did you smoke whilst pregnant? Never smoked and not had kids yet

I think you've offended plenty of us, and so far, haven't had any debate or supportive arguments.

YABU - Common? Each to their own, My 2 tattos are very personal and mean something to me! They are always covered as they were never to show off ( one on my back the other on my stomach)

Oh My God. i've just remembered where i've clashed with Gichin before. i said on a thread that i let my daughter sleep in the same bed as her boyfriend of two years when she was 16, and she basically said that i was running a brothel.
