I think they're cute! and as others have pointed out people ken it's a girl.

mrsgordonfreeman · 25/05/2010 17:22

Yes, thumbwitch, it's ok, I fancied a change.

kingbeat23 · 25/05/2010 18:34

tried to put in DDs hair as it was going in her eyes....then i cut her fringe....would love to put in bunches as its unruly and gets sweaty in hot weather, other than that...i think it looks naff, but if another likes it, i'll think it and move on to more important things in my life!

lovecheese · 25/05/2010 18:39

No, not under any circumstances, ever.

pinkfizzle · 25/05/2010 19:12

A friend handmade hers for her baby girl - they are lovely.

CDMforever · 25/05/2010 20:18

They always remind me of the sort of thing a gypsy baby might wear. That said, they do get a wee one used to having bands, bobbles and the like on her head. My DD aged 21 months hates having anything on her head, should have gone for the gypsy look ages ago....

MyLife, I used to get the same with my DS when he still had his angelic curls (how I miss them!). I took it as a compliment, he was so beautiful! Still is of course but more of a little boy now.

KickArseQueen · 25/05/2010 21:07

Has anyone else seen the stick on ones (yes I really do mean self adhesive !) I was watching a baby programe when I as pregnant with dd1, because the baby had no hair, the mother stuck a flower to her head....

piprabbit · 25/05/2010 21:22

Do you mean these KickArseQueen?

ReshapeWhileDamp · 25/05/2010 21:34

, piprabbit! Your links today are giving me palpitations!

Those are just - I have no words. Look at the Gallery - they just look as if someone's randomly stuck a bow to the head with a drawing pin. People are Odd.

piprabbit · 25/05/2010 21:41

It's the wonder of the worldwide web - building bridges of communication and understanding among the peoples of the world.

Or maybe just leaving us snorting in horror?

You are right - very odd. I had assumed that the bows came with a dot of glue on the bow itself (like a gift bow) - but I see from the site that you actually get a bottle of glue .

KickArseQueen · 25/05/2010 21:58

piprabbit! Thats the ones! How mad are some people? Its the look on the 1st baby's face that gets me says it all really!

MeddlesomeRatbag · 25/05/2010 22:43

I have to confess . . . . My Mam bought a shedload of head bands for DD when she was born! I put one on twice for photographs of DD and my Mam together, but never again! - hate it almost as much as baby ear piercing (but thats a whole other thread..)

YANBU

mathanxiety · 25/05/2010 23:09

Piprabbit, I'm not too surprised to see that site has an address in Texas...

nappyaddict · 25/05/2010 23:12

If the baby has hair long enough to be getting in her eyes then YABU. If it is hot and it is to keep the hair off her forehead then YABU. If neither of these things apply then YANBU.

BubsMaw · 25/05/2010 23:27

YANBU, they are horrible. I don't see them often, but on Sunday I spotted a little baby perhaps 6 weeks old at the supermarket wearing a headband, and frilly clothing all over, plus frilly socks and shoes (she was hardly going to be walking!). It was the hottest day, my DS was looking way too hot in just his vest ('cos it's OK of course to be out and about in nothing other than your underscanties! ).

piprabbit · 25/05/2010 23:34

Oooh Bubsmaw - don't get me started on the horror of frilly socks for little girls. Why would anyone want their child to wear socks with such humungous frills that they are virtually a trip hazard?

NumptyMum · 25/05/2010 23:50

Have to confess I've not seen any babies wearing headbands! Toddlers, yes - but toddlers with hair. Perhaps it's not in vogue where I am...?

dobbyssocks · 26/05/2010 00:06

Hideous. Also "hair" in bunches/pony tail when the poor child has about 3 strands of hair on their head, looks ridiculous and makes me cringe.

Camilliapple · 26/05/2010 00:52

yuuuuck! YANbu
When my dd was born with lots of hair i was aghast! after searching everywhere for plain coloured, thin, soft hair bands (with no bows, sequins or lace) to no avail, i ended up having to make some to keep the hair off her eyes. they look ok i think, but not my preference.

those stick on bows......i have no words!

CheerfulYank · 26/05/2010 01:50

PMSL...am loving these links! The little bottle of glue is just so hilariously OTT!

That being said, I repeat my earlier post: I find the big flower ones cute for pictures.

thumbwitch · 26/05/2010 02:34

Stick on bows?????
ARGH! (love how there is a little dog in the gallery with one stuck to its head as well, though.)

Another website that is Just Plain Wrong.

Where's Hully when you need someone to 'kill them'?

weegiemum · 26/05/2010 08:08

at the Infant Stick-On Bows.

I'm just trying to get my head round the idea of sticking something with glue to a baby's head!!!

And the slogan is "Bows that bond with babies!". They're proud of it!

You also get free shipping if you spend over $100! On teeny ribbon bows and a bottle of glue!!

I'm not often speechless, but .....

theressomethingaboutmarie · 26/05/2010 08:14

Oh bloody hell, they're awful. It's almost as it they're trying to beautify their babies - listen up, babies are cute regardless. You don't need to accessorise them!
