Just that - she's wearing killer heels tonight that I couldn't manage without being pregnant. Could you wear heels like that while pregnant?

McDreamy · 11/05/2010 20:53

I could if my husband had just been made PM!

strawberrycake · 11/05/2010 20:54

My husband just said she was walking 'funny', I pointed out I'd be actually hobbling if pregnant in heels like that!

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 11/05/2010 20:54

I can't wear heels like that full stop and I do wish pregnant women didn't wear them. So many risks of falling over. if you are me.

MimsyStarr · 11/05/2010 20:57

They were proper car-to-bar shoes, weren't they! Lovely shoes. But she wasn't walking very far, so why not.

CMOTdibbler · 11/05/2010 20:58

I did when I was pg, and it wasn't really a problem

Tootiredforgodtyping · 11/05/2010 20:58

I guess that's why David helped her out of the car..

herethereandeverywhere · 11/05/2010 21:01

I didn't notice the shoes but did think she was walking funny, sort of stooped slight limp - that'll be why!

Imisssleeping · 11/05/2010 21:03

I thought exactly the same when I saw her. I could barely walk in birkenstocks so would have hobbled in those ! I would also have been in bed at this time!

FakePlasticTrees · 11/05/2010 21:03

I did when pregnant right up to 36 weeks (when mat leave started), but then not for long distances and I have a bad habit of prioritising form over function with footwear...

Sn0wflake · 11/05/2010 21:04

Ha, ha. That was exactly what I thought when I saw her walking down Downing Street. I always wear flats now....I like the idea that I could run away whenever needed.

goodnightmoon · 11/05/2010 21:05

she doesn't have to walk far.

thanks for keeping us focused on what's important though!

TheCrackFox · 11/05/2010 21:07

I fell over wearing sensible sandals when I was pregnant. Some people are just naturally glamorous whilst pregnant, sadly it wasn't me.

Shaz10 · 11/05/2010 21:08

They didn't look that high to me. And I checked!

Hulababy · 11/05/2010 21:09

I had a friend who could wear heels throughout pregnancy.

I can;t do heels well when non pregnant, so when pregnant was flats for sure.

preggersplayspop · 11/05/2010 21:11

My DH said she was walking funny as well.

Is Downing Street cobbled? I think it may be. Cobbles, high heels, world media = bad combo.

I'd have been in trainers

McDreamy · 11/05/2010 21:18

I bet she's not wearing them now! Comfy Birkies and a nice cup of tea

beanlet · 11/05/2010 22:17

She's not VERY pregnant, and if you're used to wearing heels like that, not a problem. I'm 32 weeks and had to wear a pair of quite high heels to work last week because my DH had "hidden" my flats (aka I couldn't find where he'd put them), and although I felt a little wobbly and went verrrry carefully, it was fine.

MrsC2010 · 11/05/2010 22:30

I could, but only just and not for long! I'm 29 wks now and would certainly struggle, as lovely as they look. But then I don't wear heels as a rule now, more a ballet pump girl! I thought she looked very nice to be honest.

mears · 11/05/2010 22:31

I thought the same. Way too high heels to be wearing which was obvious by the way she walked in them.

Ewe · 11/05/2010 22:33

I wore heels pretty much until the end of my pregnancy, just didn't walk long distances in them (rarely do that when not pregnant!). I think it's fine if you're used to it, especially for the short journey she walked, the butler probably had her slippers ready!

AllarmBells · 11/05/2010 22:43

I couldn't wear heels when pregnant, my balance completely went. Then after giving birth my feet had grown a size so now I still wear them but they hurt even more.

I thought SamCam looked fab - she's going to give Carla Bruni a run for her money when the Sarkozys come over!

SnailWhaleTail · 11/05/2010 23:00

I never usually wear heels apart from on big nights out whilst not pregnant, but I'd make an exception if DH was being made PM and I was going to be on the telly!

lilmissmummy · 11/05/2010 23:07

I thought she looked great - loved the heels (after all it was a special occasion!)

LadyBee · 11/05/2010 23:17

I noticed her heels, but only because I can't wear them that high normally and was very impressed that she had the ability to do so even when pregnant!

Poledra · 11/05/2010 23:20

I didn't see her shoes (not watched telly tonight) but TBH, I got heartily sick of people telling me I shouldn't be wearing high heels when I was pg. It didn't cause me any problem and made me feel better that I could still wear nice shoes even if I was stuck with only 3 outfits that went anywhere near me and had a tendency to spill my lunch down my top.
